Baxter Safe Homes

An apparent representative of this company, Nook John T, said he could install a 36" standing corner shower in my master bathroom and tile my bathroom floor. During the hiring process, I asked Mr. T if he was licensed and insured, and he said yes. During the job, Mr. T and his associate Dominic notified me that they needed to replace the drain and pipes to my shower and did just that. After the job was supposedly concluded and I took a shower, water started pouring from my shower drain into my kitchen, which is directly underneath my shower. I told Mr. T of the issue, he sent some men to fix the leak. Six months after the last repair was made, I noticed a water stain in my ceiling in the exact same spot where my leak was six months prior. I made an attempt to contact Mr. T twice and received no reply. I then contacted another plumber to fix my leak, who, upon inspection of the issue noted that Mr. T's company had significantly cut into my joist without properly bracing it after the fact. That plumber suggested I report this issue to my county since the job was not done to code. Upon doing so, the county informed me that neither Baxter Safe Homes, it's owner John B, nor Nook John T are licensed and insured as I was initially told. As such, no one ever pulled the proper permits to do the work in my home. As such, the work in my house is not compliant with the law. The county, acting as my advocate, asked Baxter Safe Homes to refund me, but they claim to not have the money to do so. While they offered to fix any problems, I cannot hire an unlicensed contractor since they aren't allowed to operate under the law. I now need to hire another contractor to fix the problems created by Baxter Safe Homes and it's supposed employee Nook John T.
