Complaint I was told $130-150 for service when making the appointment, and was charged to my credit card $285. I am new to the area, and when I called to check them out, I was told hair cut and color would be about $130-150 depending on the services I wanted and needed. I made the appointment for 2:30, and called at 2:25 because I was having difficulty locating the business (if you want to call it that). To my surprise [redacted] and [redacted] (his assistant) were in a jeep driving and we were right in front of the business. They pointed out the window where it was, and pulled in, parked, and went upstairs to the business. I waited, with no one around until 2:45, when [redacted] came and put a smock on me. At 2:55, I got out of the chair to leave and [redacted] met me at the door and urged me not to leave. He said he was late because they were helping me find the business, which was not true because I was in front of the business and they were already driving. They were also unloading groceries when I pulled up at 2:30 - the time of my appointment. Unfortunately, I didn't leave, and 5 hours, yes 5 hours, later I was finished and told my charge was $285. I got home at 7:45 pm. In that 5 hours, [redacted] kept leaving the room, and coming back 15 minutes later. I also told him I did not want layers, that I did not know how to fix my hair with layers, and unfortunately it was chopped. When he asked me how I liked it, I told him it looked good - this was again after 5 hours, and in that 5 hours listening to loud, what I call grinding music, I was exhausted and felt like I was in a compromising situation. I do feel like they thought I was wealthy because they knew where I live and where I work (professor at a nearby university). I think I was charged the price not based on service but this assumption. I tried to dispute the charge with [redacted], and [redacted] interrupted saying I had a lot of gray, which I have never been told before, and my husband said he has not seen. It has taken me this long to write this complaint, because honestly I have been traumatized by this experience. Desired SettlementI would like a full refund. I would accept $200.00.

Poor hair salon procedureI went in for blonde highlights and ended up with pink streaks throughout my hair. The non licensed assistant out of the blue brushed bronzer on my face and tried to sell it to me resulting in an allergic reaction that irritated my face, when I had stated in conversation I do not wear makeup due to my sensitive skin. The brush and product were not new, which is unsanitary and unprofessional. The owner said he would fix my hair, but I do not trust his skills and am not comfortable going back there. I also confirmed before and during the appt this was a partial highlight appt only, and the owner said yes. He performed other services HE thought I needed and charged me $212 and asked for a tip I felt obligated to pay, making my total $258, which is far more than a partial highlight appt. I asked for a refund or even a partial credit but was refused. The assistant was very rude and defensive when I tried to reason with him on the phone to find a solution that would benefit us both. The owner will not take my calls. From other complaints, I see this is a common business practice of theirs which is beyond professional and takes advantage of clients after the services have been performed giving them justification to collect the increased fees. I now have to find a hair salon that can correct this color job without further ruining my hair and incur more costs. This has been a very upsetting experience trying to find a reputable new hair salon. Desired SettlementAfter the experience I had and still have to pay for to get corrected, the only reasonable settlement is a full refund. I asked for a full or partial refund and was refused. They should do the right thing and learn from their mistakes.
