Baymeadows Animal Hospital Reviews (4)

I loved this vet at firstI took my new cat in and walked out with a wellness plan of 36$ a month that covered pretty much everything for a kittens first yearWell ever since that first visit everytime I go in there they are trying to upsell me everything possibleI just dropped my kitten off to get neutered and I added in the declaw since he is tearing everything upWell I have been planning this procedure for about a month and a half and have been asking each time how much it is going to be to make sure I budget for itWell I dropped of my kitten and they give me a sheet saying it is going to be $MORE than I was originally told! I told the girl up front that it was not the right price and she said that it was for all the pain medicine and other treatments for him post surgeryI understand that it is not a simple procedure but for them not even to tell me about the dollar difference until the surgery is actually about to happen is ridiculousI proceeded to tell the girl that I was never told this and she just kept repeating okay, okay, okay, okay like she didn't even careToo bad I am stuck here for another months because I feel like I am being scammed!

Avoid veterinarians like Dr*** who suggest a variety of treatments and qualify 'diagnoses' with images onlineHis speculation was a conniving strategy for accruing more money and not considering my pet's best interestsDuring one of my visits, health services included in the pet wellness plan I purchased were dispensed without verifying with me firstI should have been notified beforehand but Dr*and his sales staff disciples only want your money - no matter the condition of your pet After my pet's progress worsened after each visit- physically and behaviorally, I visited two other vets for second opinionsThe two other vets - which do not offer pet healthcare plans - suggested loads of ideas, products, & different food supplements to increase my cat's health and dispositionDr*did not offer any helpful insights nor suggestions about other options; he was stubborn and believed in his own scripted waysBoth vets thought Dr*'s excessive treatment was mohinder-some than helpful for my catOne vet questioned the ethics of administering consecutive steroid doses, which is not only considered grueling, but harmfulTwo injections are typically reserved spanning the course of the yearDr* administered one every month
So what should you learn from my naive mistake in choosing Baymeadows Animal Hospital during an immediate pet emergency?
Avoid Baymeadows Animal Hospital and any vets promoting pet wellness plan tacticsThese vets are geared to sell products instead of offering the most intelligent & beneficial healthcare serviceIf you bring your pet to Baymeadows Animal Hospital, I can honestly and accurately state that you are not receiving the best healthcareI'd rather waste the $I am currently be charged for the pointless pet plan, than to EVER visit Baymeadows Animal Hospital againDr*'s vet expertise might suffice for routine visits, but not for emergency situationsWould you want to receive mediocre treatment? Then why allow your pet?! If you choose the services of Baymeadows Animal Hospital after reading this review, I truly feel sorry for your petA caring pet owner would not recommend this facility
FYI: Most of the techs I met (3/4) were not genuinely caring and compassionate toward my animalThey remained cold and ignorant - maybe the techs work better with dogsEven so, sales associates better describe their job occupation - NOT animal specialistsI've also found a significant distinction between the positive published Google+ reviews (most likely created by spam staff members) than the listings on yelpThe owner is buying ad positive reviews placements on yelp to target first ad locations to deter from the low reviews Also the positive Demandforce reviews that rank highly on bing are completely bogus; a user cannot easily lto create an account! I honestly wish that I never brought my cat to Baymeadows Animal HospitalHopefully by publishing this review, I can help other animal owners learn from my errorPlease avoid Baymeadows Animal Hospital!!!

I loved this vet at first. I took my new cat in and walked out with a wellness plan of 36$ a month that covered pretty much everything for a kittens first year. Well ever since that first visit everytime I go in there they are trying to upsell me everything possible. I just dropped my kitten off to get neutered and I added in the declaw since he is tearing everything up. Well I have been planning this procedure for about a month and a half and have been asking each time how much it is going to be to make sure I budget for it. Well I dropped of my kitten and they give me a sheet saying it is going to be $80 MORE than I was originally told! I told the girl up front that it was not the right price and she said that it was for all the pain medicine and other treatments for him post surgery. I understand that it is not a simple procedure but for them not even to tell me about the 80 dollar difference until the surgery is actually about to happen is ridiculous. I proceeded to tell the girl that I was never told this and she just kept repeating okay, okay, okay, okay like she didn't even care. Too bad I am stuck here for another 6 months because I feel like I am being scammed!

Despite the other customers reviews (2) that are negative - I'm here to say that Dr. G is fantastic! He is kind, generous and lets you do what you feel is best or what you can afford. He's VERY responsive to what your needs are! As far as his front desk staff, it's the fault of the other reviewers if they relied on the front desk staff to relay prices. They are sweet girls, but the discussion needs to happen with the doctor. In a regular doctor's office, we as patients wouldn't tell the the front desk receptionists what we need, so why would you do the same at a vet? Any good vet/doctor is going to tell you the best laid plan- no matter the cost and then you, as the consumer, can do it all, or aim for the best you can afford.
Dr. G has been amazing with our 2 dogs. As luck would have it, we had 2 of the most sickly dogs you can imagine and he has walked through each appointment, surgery and death with amazing support and compassion. We started with him at [redacted] and followed him to his own practice. We admire the work he does.
If I may offer some advice - don't go in to a vet looking to get ripped off. If you're on the defensive - you won't hear a word that's being said. Doctors understand financial constraints - and the good ones will work with you as needed. Talk to Dr. G or whomever you are seeing and you will see, they are there for the right reasons. But also know that you are paying for a service - a service that most of us aren't proficient in and that skill set comes with a price.
We thank Dr. G for being a great vet!
