Bayside Volkswagen Reviews (3)

Review: Dear Madam or Sir:

I am writing to dispute the three unauthorized credit inquiries on my [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] accounts resulting from my recent 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI SE purchase. Two inquiries are from Volkswagen Credit and one inquiry is from [redacted]. Three credit inquiries were made on my credit reports from ** Credit on 6/**/15 and 6[redacted]/15 and from [redacted] on 6/**/15, I only authorized one for the vehicle purchase not three. I am extremely disappointed at Bayside Volkswagens refusal and lack of cooperation to assist me in resolving this situation when they are entirely at fault.

I visited Bayside Volkswagen on June **, 2015 and was assisted by Shawn B[redacted] to return my leased 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SE and purchase a 2015 a Volkswagen Jetta TDI SE. At that time I signed an agreement to purchase the new vehicle, paid a deposit of $500 so that the dealer could locate and obtain the car and authorized one credit inquiry for the purchase of the new vehicle, not three credit inquiries that were made. I made arrangements to return my 2012 Jetta at the time I picked up the new vehicle. There was no need for a new credit check to begin with, because I never missed or was late on any of my payments for the entire duration the lease on the 2012 VW Jetta; yet Shawn B[redacted] insisted that it was necessary because it was a new account, even though I knew that it wasn’t.

I recently got married on May **, 2015 and changed my name, I produced my marriage certificate and driver’s license as proof of my name change. The dealer is claiming that this may have been part of the problem but refuses to remove the additional 2 unauthorized credit inquiries. I had also recently moved to [redacted] and changed all documents to reflect the new information including the vehicle registration, my driver’s license and the insurance on the car; but somehow that still presented a problem for the dealer in processing the new paperwork.

When I signed the papers to get the new car on 6/**/15, Shawn [redacted] told me that he would have the car by 6/**/15 ready to be picked up, because I was leaving the country on 6/**/15; he said 10 days was more than enough time for him to get the car for me. This was the basis of the agreement for me purchasing the 2015 Jetta TDI, Shawn failed to keep his promise and did not get the car for me in time. I was extremely disappointed because I knew that the process was going to take even longer now. Shawn did not even have the car available for us to pick up until Sunday July *, 2015; then, when I was on my way to go pick up the car, Shawn called me to tell me that I could not pick it up because it was locked in the service lot. I was finally able to pick the car up on Thursday July *, 2015 when my schedule permitted, pay the remaining $1857.50 down payment and return my 2012 Jetta.

I would have picked up the car on 6/**/15 if the salesman, Shawn B[redacted] did his job and none of this would have been an issue. Instead, during the time that I originally decided to purchase a new vehicle and was finally able to pick it up, there were 2 additional unauthorized inquiries on my credit report which no one at Bayside Volkswagen will take responsibility for. They are coming up with excuse after excuse speculating about how this may have happened; the last excuse I got was that because it took so long to get the car ** did another credit check, even though only 15 days had elapsed between the first and last credit checks on 6/**/15 and 6/**/15 were done. I want these extra inquiries removed immediately, Volkswagen is completely at fault for this and there is absolutely no reason for my credit to suffer from additional credit inquiries that I never agreed to.

I am so disgusted with this situation that I never have any intention on doing business with Volkswagen again after my lease is up, if this situation is not resolved. It has been one problem after another while doing business with Bayside Volkswagen and if you can’t help me I will tell anyone that will listen what a horrible experience I had, how Volkswagen has ruined my credit and that they should take their business to another company. I hope you can help me resolve this issue quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for your help in advance, I appreciate your cooperation on this matter, please let me know when these credit inquiries have been removed from all 3 of my credit reports from [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted].

Best, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Remove the two unauthorized inquiries from my credit report.

Response:

I have reviewed the complaint from [redacted] with all of the employees that were involved. I have reached out to [redacted] and apologized for her experience. It did not meet with the standard that we have set for ourselves. We strive and usually exceed all of our clients expectations.I have received an email confirmation from Volkswagen Credit that they are in the process of requesting the one inquiry be removed. They have told me it takes approx. 30 days. I have forwarded that e-mail to [redacted]. I also have spoken to her and apologized. I have extended a good will gesture of $250.00 as a service credit for her to use as she desires. I am also attempting to find out if our inquiry can be removed considering it was also a part of the same transaction. I will let her know as soon as I do. Thank you.

Review: I was unfortunately the victim of a crime and the rims and tires of my vehicle were stolen off of my vehicle in my driveway on Sunday, January [redacted], 2016. I did speak to Helms Brothers Mercedes Managers Gary, Suzanne, and Jack who about getting my vehicle to the service dept. Unfortunately the vehicle could not be removed till Monday morning, January [redacted]. Suzanne and Jack did promise me a loaner/courtesy vehicle free of charge while my vehicle is being restored from this crime, but the tow truck driver did not bring a courtesy vehicle as they had guaranteed he would. I have four children and one of which is an 8 month old infant. I am very unhappy that I was lied to.Desired Settlement: I want them to deliver a loaner/courtesy vehicle today, Monday January the [redacted] 2016 as promised by management. Thank you.

Review: I was not informed of any appraisal nor was I given the appraisal's report. I was not given the opportunity to request an appraisal. There is now an invoice of charges to excessive wear and tare and damages which I disagree with. Now sales mgr at Bayside VW , [redacted] said he would get back to me but never did.Desired Settlement: That I be relieved of any financial burden from Volkswagen.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

In response to the above mentioned complaint I would like to present mthe facts as they have been described to me. On June [redacted], 2013 [redacted] visited our showroom and agreed on terms for a new lease on a 2013 VW Jetta. A part of the negotiation was that we would make the remaining

two payments of his existing lease. I have attached the Sales agreement along with a copy of the check we sent to cover those payments.

The bill that [redacted] received on October [redacted] was from the leasing company, Volkswagen. We are not in receipt of that bill as it goes directly

to [redacted]. As a part of his lease agreement he is responsible for any excess mileage or wear and tear deemed above normal. These charges were not a part of any negotiation on the new lease with us. When [redacted] called us about the bill he received he was informed of this. He then stated that if we did not pay the bill he would call the Revdex.com.

I have spoken to VCI ( the leasing company ) and they have agreed to reduce the bill by 200.00 as a good will gesture. In the spirit of client good will I will also agree to pay 100.00 of the bill which will leave a balance of 364.85.

I am also attaching a copy of the lease agreement for your review.

Please call me with any additional questions.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

I would also like to confirm that there has been no defaults towards my credit status, and no collection departments have been contacted. As per NYS Personal Property Law, Article 9-a, Section 343 (4) (c), Volkswagen Credit is prohibited from reporting an unsatisfied claim for excess wear and tear to a credit reporting agency as a derogatory item until either the right to challenge an arbitration award has expired or the matter has been subject to a final judgment.

Sincerely,
