I am NOT going to do anything with the inspection report. It was up to YOUR MECHANICS to notice inspection. They DID NOT. My tire blew-there was no nail, no nothing and it should have been caught by your alleged professionals at inspection.I will be writing a letter of complaint to the CEO and I will NEVER go to Bay State ford again for ANYTHING AT ALL. You have lost a loyal customer. I hope you go out of business

Mr*** brought in his vehicle to Baystate Ford on September 16th, for a shudder. Mr*** drives a *** *** with 150,miles on the odometer. When he originally booked the appointment he explained what he was feeling in the vehicle and *** our service advisor who
assisted Mr*** informed Mr*** that *** were notoriously renowned for spark plugs and or ignition coils burning out at high mileage, thus causing a misfire in the engine which feels like a shudder when driving. One of our senior technicians diagnosed the vehicle with our shop foreman and found that in fact the engine had a severe misfire caused by the ignition coil being burnt out on cylinder number along with original spark plugs and wires. Wires and plugs are recommended by Ford to be replaced at 100,miles and this vehicles was almost 51,past the recommended service mileage for these items. We called Mr*** and informed him of our findings and he agreed to replace the affected parts. Our technician completed the repairs and test drove the vehicle. The vehicle no longer had a misfire and the shudder that we felt from the engine was now gone.Mr*** picked up the vehicle and returned two weeks later stating the shudder was still present. I personally drove the vehicle and only after miles of driving did I feel a shudder coming from the transmission and once the vehicle was stopped the shudder took some time to return as it is intermittent. The other issue I explained to Mr*** is the fact that all engine running parameters must be normalized and running in tip top condition before you can start diagnosing any other drivability issue such as a transmission. I even printed out the ford test procedures and showed Mr*** that *** states, "Diagnose and repair all engine running issues prior to transmission diagnosis". There is a computer on both the transmission and the engine. The engine computer sends information to the transmission computer for it to calculate shift patterns, times and speeds, if the engine is not running the information the transmission is receiving is erroneous and not accurate, therefore the transmission will have shifting issues.Further to the first repair, the misfire was so bad in the engine that the transmission would have been getting wrong information due to the fact the # cylinder ignition coil was burnt out and not working at all, meaning there was no spark going to fire that spark plug, therefore the engine was running on cylinders instead of 8.We as a dealer did our job professionally and accurately, the issue is Mr*** had two issues and the second one was being masked by the engine running issue. When Mr*** came in to the dealership yesterday, we had taken the transmission oil pan off to check the valve body and oil pickup tube before condemning the transmission. That is why Mr*** waited to have the vehicle put back together, further, he showed up at Baystate unannounced, thus we did not know to have the vehicle ready. Considering Mr*** had already spent $we tried to assist and gave him a $rebate off the price of installing a new transmission, not because we misdiagnosed his vehicle, but because we care about our clients and tried to help him out. He declined having the work done and decided he wanted a refund. We both sat with my GM *** *** and at first *** said I am not going to quibble over $however when I pulled the original work order, the night drop envelope that Mr*** filled out in his own handwriting states to call him if the vehicle required more then plugs and coilsAdditionally Mr*** agreed to the repairs by phone and authorized the work. It is unfortunate that Mr*** has a few different issues with his vehicle, it is high mileage. We did our best to appease the client, however we also have to follow protocol and repair a vehicle by the most obvious items not working. How would the client feel if we had quoted him a transmission for $and not fixed the burnt out coil yet the shudder was still present? He'd be out a lot more then $for the repairs he really did need. The client threatened court action of which I showed him all documentation is in our favor. The client blew up at me, called me names and was quite belligerent with me. In short, both my GM and myself have reviewed the work orders and interviewed the two technicians who have worked on the vehicle, we both feel we did everything by the book and therefore no refund is forthcoming. *** ***

inspection process or want to have a Mass dot inspection facility to do a reinspection please visit mass.dot.gov.us and download an inspection station complaint form and the state will look your tires over for compliance to mass dot inspectionMany reasons a tire can have a blow out or flat some examples are potholes, hitting curbs nail or screw in tire ect.We will not be paying for your new tire on a escape withplus miles on it and will not be terminating tech for any wrong doing

[REAL GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE-I'LL REMEMBER THAT AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM YOUR COMPANY.  NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS SOMEONE IS GOING TO LOSE A TIRE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND KILL SOMEONE.  MAYBE THEN YOU'LL TAKE SOME CONCERN ABOUT IT.  IN THE MEANTIME YOU HIRE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING...YOU REALLY EXPECT THE TECH TO ADMIT THAT THERE WAS A MISTAKE MADE!!!

The sale price of the vehicle was indeed 13,300.00 as our paperwork indicates  Mr.[redacted] did not want to pay the Registration and Doc fee which did come up to the total of 13898.00 He did not buy a car here.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
I will continue to pursue other measures such as the Revdex.com auto-line and [redacted]. I will also contact the owner(s) and then an attorney.  There have been seven formal complaints against Baystate in the last three years. There is obviously a problem. It will just take a little free time.[If you are rejecting the business's response please enter your rejection comments here.]
