I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The two letters that she sent us contradict each otherShe states in the first one that they had a hard time deciding whether to give us our deposit back or not but decided not to because of a dog that she believes we kept in the houseThat being the ONLY reason they weren't giving it backThen in the second letter she makes things up to try to make it seem like we were bad tenantsWhile we rented from them, they would say that we were the best tenants that they have ever had, and that we keep our house cleanWe never had any complaints from them the whole time we rented from them (years)Now all of a sudden she has a list of things that are our fault? When we moved in, under the stove and refrigerator were not cleanedWe found stuff under the stove, such as a cheese grater that had been left there from the previous tenantsSo for them to say that we didn't clean under the fridge and stove is crazyThe only reason they say it was dirty was because they had to move the stove and fridge to replace the flooring in the kitchen where the water heater had leakedEvery acquisition that they have made in the second letter is a lie
Yes, we told them about a cat that we were keeping while a family member was out of town, and *** OKAY'ED itShe said it was fine as long as it wasn't oursSo when we had family members visit from Florida, we thought the same would be in effect when they brought their dog with them
If she knew about the dogs visit, which she obviously did, then all she had to do was tell us that it was unacceptable and we would have changed itShe knew about the dog, and never once told us to get rid of it or have the family member stay at another place so we thought it was OKAY
Absolutely NOTHING was wrong with the rental when we moved outThe carpet had NO damages, no stains, no nothingShe had asked us not to shampoo it, so we didn't and then she complains about the dirty water when she shampooed it and accuses us of not vacuumingThat is an absurd commentWe are clean people
There was a leak in one of the bedrooms that happened not long after we moved in, and we did tell *** about the problemShe sent her handy man in there and all he did was paint over the leakShe then said that there was nothing they could do since we still lived in the placeWhen we moved out, near years later, the leak had come backShe KNEW about this! We told her!
She still has not sent us an itemized invoice of all the so called charges

they were living there but the worse one was sneaking a dog into the house without asking anything about it. And to make it worse, they played a radio so nobody would hear the dog. This clearly breeches their contract. They knew that our policy was NO PETS, they knew this when they moved into our house that had brand new carpet throughout when they moved in. We had previously caught a cat in the house without asking and we settled that matter. So they knew our policy about NO PETS when they snuck a dog into our house. The things that they have done to our house do not come under the category of normal wear and tear. Especially when you put a dog on brand new carpet. I cannot advertise that the carpet had never had an animal on it. A lot of people do not like letting their children play on a carpet after an animal has been on it. So it really does affect rental property. We pride ourselves in having very nice clean units to rent out.Sincerely,B & B Enterprises
