B&B Equipment Company

This past Saturday morning, May 26, 2012, I went to B&B Equipment, [redacted], *, NY to purchase a * string trimmer. This is a store that I have purchased 2 other * gas powered tools worth over $1,000 in the past few years. Since I expect to keep this quality equipment for many years, I ask many questions about the equipment and its suitability for my intended uses. During this past week I saw a commercial on TV from the * manufacturer advertising * Dealer Days in which the ad said something to the effect of deals throughout the store. When I arrived I mentioned that I saw the TV ad and that was what brought me in to their store that day. I inquired as to what the deals were on string trimmers. I was informed that they had an ear protection and sunglass give away on a model of trimmer that I was not interested in. When I decided on the string trimmer that worked best for me, I asked if I could get the free give away on this purchase. I was told that it was not available on the model I chose. To which I asked was there any * Dealer Days promotion on the trimmer I chose to buy. This seemed like a legitimate question to ask based on the TV ad that I saw a couple of days before. This is when I was told by one of the owners [redacted]that he did not like my attitude and that he thought I was a joke. He then proceeded to tell me that he was not going to sell me the trimmer and to leave his store. As you can imagine, I was taken completely off guard by his comments to me. I replied that I would never buy anything in his store again. To which he replied, Good, I dont ever want to see you in here again.I have never been spoken to in such a disrespecting and insulting manner before. As someone in his mid-fiftys and having been the Chief Financial Officer of two $100 million dollar Bio-tech and medical research companies, I can assure you I am no joke and will be telling my friends and neighbors of the embarrassing and inappropriate treatment I was subjected to at B&B Equipment.
