Pool Fill In
B & b Excavating Services is an excellent contracting company. We needed to have an inground pool filled in. When Ed, the owner, came he listened carefully to our plan, explained how it could be done, and at what cost. Then his expertise in the field became apparent as he gave us a totally new vision- using the existing sloping yard to fill in the pool and then having a much larger useable space for half the cost as we wouldn't have to pay for fill dirt or the labor cost it would take to transport the dirt from the dump site to the back of the property. We initially resisted the idea, so he said that he was willing to do whatever we wanted, but as my family talked further we saw the genius of his plan. He ended up giving us a huge backyard while blending the almost level area into the existing slope. He also rough graded the area for a new, above-ground pool. The entire project was done in the time frame Ed promised and at the cost we agreed upon. He answered every question and concern as though he had all the time on the world and helped allay all our concerns about water flow around the property. The yard is gorgeous and we are beyond delighted.

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***They mention that they were not informed of an irrigation system yet acknowledge the presence of markers indicating oneDoes this not imply then a knowledge of the presence of an irrigation system? One can only assume that being professionals they have developed a feel for the difference in plastic pipe and concrete, and proceed cautiously in the presence of an irrigation systemThe pipe was pierced not once but twice.I was not rude to them, as I asked if the employee could read English, as the marker flags were clearly written in English showing the presence of an irrigation systemThis was in response to their claim of not being able to know of the presence of an irrigation system.I was very dissatisfied with their approach at customer serviceWhen I requested the service, I was not asked if there was anything to beware ofI asked if I needed to be present during the pump out and was told noI normally expect companies to make good on damages they inadvertently cause. Their first response was that your problemThere are many other companies that provide similar services in the area, and I recommend folks look elsewhere

Our company has been in business for eighteen years, and this customer is the first one to have a complaint. I don't know how I can explain this any more clearly -  the flags shown ONLY MARK THE HEADS of the irrigation,NOT THE UNDERGROUND LINES. That picture is one that the customer sent AFTER the pump was completed. He was told he did not need to be present during the service but was welcome to if he would like. If he had a concern he should have stated that when he called to schedule his service.

B&B Excavation, Inc. pumped the septic tank located at [redacted] - as was requested by the homeowner. A probe was used to locate the cover of the tank (our normal procedure). Our workers were unaware of the location of the underground irrigation system and a line was punctured...

with the probe. The homeowner did not notify us that he had an underground system or any other concerns regarding his property. There were two small flags in the yard which only mark the heads of the irrigation - there is no way to know where the underground lines are from those heads (please see attached picture). We are not liable for something that we were not even made aware of prior to the service. The homeowner called to complain and it was explained to him why we are not responsible. He was very rude to our staff, even indicating that the problem occurred because our employees "don't speak English" (which is untrue and was uncalled for).
