BC Floors Flooring Company Reviews (%countItem)

We hired BC floors flooring company to do two jobs. One is to refinish the existing one year old floors and the other is to install the same floors in a different room. The refinish process was described as per *** brand standards involving removing dirt, buffing, deep cleaning with *** scrubber and then applying the coat of *** traffic. The job was estimated to be done within 20 hrs with drying overnight. We asked whether the original white finish will be maintained and they assured us floors will not lose it's look. The job was started a day late and actually done in 6 hrs without scrubbing and wet cleaning process. The sub contractor they hired used the buffing machine only. As a result the dirt was trapped in the texture of wood and the white wash was almost gone. The are also multiple spots with marks from bucket or something, white spots, dirty spot that wasn't even touched. The white floor moulding wasn't taped and the coat went over it leaving yellow marks. So the sales man of BC floors sold us service they didn't perform as stated in his communication with us. It was very misleading. We complained about the results and proceeded with assessment by another company. They explained that the floors weren't cleaned properly and this is why there are grey lines in the texture. White wash finish was gone because they didn't use the ore they sealer. We went back and forth several times on the project and we agreed to refinish the floors in January. In the meantime we were working on the new floors project, we asked the sales man to source exactly the same floor, he took a label from the box we had left and notified us shortly that he found the floors in California, however it's doscontinued and they have the same floor in a wider plank. We said as long as it's the same finish we are good with it. We paid $4,700 which is a 50% deposit on this project. They brought the floors and they were completely different, very rough finish, not even close. We told the sales man these are wrong floors and we can.t go with them. We researched ourself the same day and found out our floors are locally made by *** flooring company. He proceeded with the return of floors from California and promised us to order the floors from ***. He told us the floors will be done by Christmas. Christmas is here and the story keeps on changing. Sales guy said he is waiting for the installer to finish another job, than apparently it wasn't the reason, he wanted to get a refund from California flooring company first.

Initial Business Response /(1000, 6, 2019/01/04) */
Good day! The Sales / Project Manager who estimated the scope of work and proposed the original wood is currently away from the country. We certainly would like to rectify the Customer's concern and find the right solution, but we need to gather more information on the project. We would like to schedule a meeting with the Customer once the Sales / Project Manager is back so we can address the situation in a professional manner. We are expecting him to be back on January 10, 2019. Please let us know what would be a convenient time to set up a meeting. We highly appreciate your cooperation.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(3000, 8, 2019/01/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We requested to install the same floor as we have, unfortunately the sales manager made a mistake by ordering completely different and since then it's been many reasons why we can't simply go to the local manufacturer and get it done. It was that the installer is busy but we were promised to get it done before Christmas, then it was that bc floors needed to return wrong floors and now it's waiting for something again. The project was very simple, *** for the floor we have, contact supplier and install. This floor is discontinued and the manufacture had limited qty left, ***. I am not sure what we were waiting for. We installed the floor 3 days ago, other company did it for us within 48 hrs. Project is done, we need a refund of deposit.

Final Business Response /(4000, 12, 2019/01/25) */
We spoke with the Customer and determined the amount to be refunded.

Final Consumer Response /(2000, 14, 2019/01/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We agreed on the partial refund of $3,000 to compensate for the refinishing job.

BC Floors were selected for a carpet replacement in the administrative area of a healthcare setting. Despite having numerous discussions about how the project would be implemented to reduce the amount of disruption in the workplace there were multiple issues. The installers left foot prints and black glue in several areas. Numerous carpet tiles were pealing up or stained. In addition, the company did not measure the area correctly, and therefore, did not have sufficient supplies to complete the project. There was a 5 week delay following the original installation before the remaining supplies were in place and two teams of installers had to come to correct and finish the project. Throughout this time, representatives from the organization did not consistently follow-up or return calls or develop an action plan for remediation as requested. Despite verbal acknowledgment that the project had not gone well and agreement that there should be some compensation to reflect this and the substantial disruption on operations, in the end, we were advised there would be no adjustment to the pricing. I would not recommend this company in the future and would like this complaint registered with the Revdex.com.

Initial Business Response /(1000, 5, 2017/08/23) */
Dear Customer,

We admit that we were short by one box of the material to finish up the installation (possibly installers had a higher rate of wastage than what we expected). Even though it was a smaller area that we couldn't finish, we understand it might have caused you some inconveniences.

We ordered one extra box of the material with express delivery services (by air) to reduce the waiting time (of course at absolutely no charge for you). I personally spoke with one of your colleagues (I won't mention the name for confidentiality reasons) and informed him on when we are expecting one extra box.

From our experience, it is always easier to deal with one person only / to have one main contact to deal with to avoid any confusion or lack of communication.

During the installation, there was another of your colleagues who chose the pattern for carpet tile installation, but later this decision was changed, and we had to come back and relay carpet tiles in a different way just to make you a happy Customer (again at no extra charge for you).

We believe it would have been a much better experience for you if we could deal with one person only throughout the whole project.

We do apologize for any inconveniences and are glad that the project is fully completed and in accordance with all your preferences.
