BC MacDonald's, Bamboo Shoot & The Lakeview Hotel

Review: Our visit to the Lakeview Hotel in Chelan, WA was 28-30 July. The hotel itself is quaint and well-kept with both a bar and an ice cream parlor downstairs. Bedding, fireplace, jet tub are nice however, this does nothing to make up for how horribly we were treated and that there is NO Parking! There is literally NO PARKING.

We parked the motorcycles across the street to check-in (BTW check-in is at the bar, yes, the bar) and were told there was a two-hour parking limit. This is NOT on their website!! The evening manager told us to move the bikes to the front of the hotel and they would be safe for the whole weekend. NOT true and we got two parking tickets the next morning! The staff literally couldn’t have cared less. When we talked to the manager who was the one who told us to park there, he of course, denied it and actually laughed. We finally talked to the owner the next morning and he was RUDE and also couldn’t have cared less. I mean downright disgustingly RUDE. He refused to compensate for anything. Didn’t even apologize! I barely slept and was maximum stressed out worried about whether or not the bikes would be ticketed or towed. I woke up in a hurry to move the bikes before anything else happened so no, there was no enjoyment and no relaxation. Again, the owner and staff couldn’t have cared less. Towards the end of our discussion about the parking tickets, the owner outright stated to me “I won’t be intimidated!” to which I replied: "I’m 5’2”!! I don’t intimidate anyone!!"

We stayed in the “skylight room” in which the skylight was literally right over the bed. The window itself has no drapes and no shade so we were up bright and early with the sun (ugh) and because the room overlooked an alley we were kept awake by garbage trucks. Again, when I spoke to the owner/manager, he couldn’t care less and actually told me that was one of their cheaper rooms so it is to be expected.

Even though there is a bar/restaurant downstairs, there is no room service, no coffee service, no breakfast available. All rooms are on the second floor, but there is no elevator. NO ELEVATOR. This was not on the website either. This is not in keeping with the American’s with Disabilities act of 1990 and the 2010 standards and should have been posted somewhere on the site. I have a physical disability that I received as a result of my combat time in Iraq, and although I can ride a motorcycle (it has been customized to adapt to my disability) I cannot walk long distances and cannot climb stairs without difficultly and discomfort. Again I say, the manager/owner couldn't have cared less. Again I say this was NOT an enjoyable stay and I will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone, let alone recommend Chelan to anyone.

I wrote the above comments to the owner via e-mail and received the following response: "You know if you wouldn't have caused so many scenes that should have been embarrassing for any normal person maybe the out come would have been different. So many customers asked why do you put up with those type of people? They couldn't believe how you acted. It's obvious you've done this before especially demanding to be comped and thinking we were going to pay your parking tickets. As I stated you can not threaten business owners or anyone the way you did and expect a positive out come. I also have contacted booking.com and informed them of what kind of people we were dealing with. Both of you were responsible if you had a less than desirable week end. "

(THOSE TYPES OF PEOPLE???? THE KIND OF PEOPLE HE'S DEALING WITH???)

OWNER: Hey I fought for it also 101st A B 3rd 187th infantry khe sahn ah shaw valley...

ME: Well comrade, thanks for your service.

I was with the 101st from Apr03 to Apr04, 3d Battalion, 327th Inf in Mosul, and 3rd Bde, 187th Infantry Reg in TalAfar. Watched the 101st leave and then served with 2nd Cav in Najef – 17 months straight no break, no R&R. Turned around deployed again 7 months later to Talil and Nasariah. Got blown up outside the Australian’s camp and came home on a stretcher in Jan2006 - 27 Months of combat deployment. Six years, 9 surgeries, and 57 procedures later, and I am out of a wheelchair and on a motorcycle. AND THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST RIDE. I encourage you not to judge what you think you see.

OWNER: Morning, Atease ! Yes I remember the 327-501-02 and forget a lot of the rest. Before I started this 30 years ago I worked for Safeway stores in jeddad-Riyadh alkobar for 3 years. It gave me my start... Yeah-Jody was their when you left your right. Gi beans and gi gravy gee I wish I joined the navy. How about this one . If I die on a Russian front bury me with a Russian C--t. Ohoooo those were the days.Desired Settlement: I request the following as a settlement:

1) Reimbursement for the parking tickets totaling $50

2) Reimbursement for one nights stay totaling $224

3) Clear indication on the hotel's website that there is no parking.

4) Clear indication on the hotel's website that there is no elevator.

5) An apology for wrongfully stereotyping and discriminating against myself and my companion

6) An apology for using the "c" word in the last e-mail.
