My children attended this camp last summer and they absolutely love it. It is very affordable and great quality. My kids were engaged, entertained, and happy all summer. I look forward to enrolling my children again!","pos-1

I enrolled my daughter in BICA for Summer 2015 at Rice University in Houston. The Open House meeting was unstructured and unorganized. There were limited staff available and no one was there to answer many of the parent's questions. Parents took it on faith that on Monday when the camp began, we will receive more answers and camp would proceed smoothly with a positive experience for our children. We arrived Monday and were not allowed to drop off our children. BICA only had 1/3 of their staff available. Upon speaking to Mr. C** that morning and via email, he instructed parents to make other arrangements for child care until he sort our what has occurred with his staff. He also agreed to refund parents if that was our desire. A week later he renounced his agreement to refund us our money stating his policy is non-refundable for the first week and registration.","neg-1

BICA camp was cancelled on the third day of an eight week camp. Reimbursement was promised by director and had NOT been provided. My three children enrolled in the BICA Summer Camp in Sacramento, CA for the full 8 week duration of camp, from June 15 to August 7, 2015. Upon arrival on the forth day (June 18), we were told that the camp had been cancelled due to staffing issues and lack of supplies. The director, [redacted] promised that camp fees would be reimbursed if a reimbursement request was sent to her email address. I requested reimbursement on the evening of June 18.The following week the BICA phone system had a message that the mailbox was full, and then soon after the line was disconnected. Similarly, the website was taken down with a message "Account Suspended".Desired SettlementI paid for the full duration of the camp ($2,613). I am requesting reimbursement for the pro-rated portion of the camp that was cancelled ($2,417)

Be Inspired Cultural Arts Summer camp never started & [redacted] (CEO) never refunded my funds. Luckily I paid with my credit and they refunded me. I received an email from a friend with a flyer attached about a summer camp that was affordable and the camp was being hosted on the universities campus where I worked (at least this is what he advertised). I immediately registered my son because working for [redacted], they would not contract with anyone who was not legitimate. I paid and I went to the parent meet and greet (May 29) where we were to pay for our first week (this was mandatory). During the meeting he told us that [redacted] pulled out of the contract and he had a new location and if the location was not convenient for us, we could get a refund. After getting home I starting wondering....why would FSU back out?.... A friend started some research and found 50 complaints [redacted] had under another camp name. The Monday or Tuesday following we received a campus email stating that the university never went into contract and was not affiliated with this Summer Camp and therefore advertisement was never authorized. We all wanted to pull out but we waited to see what was going to happen. There was another meeting for orientation the Saturday before camp started (June 13) which he cancelled by text 1hr after it was to start. On Monday (June 15) [redacted] did not show up for the first day of camp and no one not even the camp counselors were able to reach him. He skipped town. So they, the camp counselors, called the police and the [redacted] Police opened an investigation. Desired SettlementThe only service I wish to request is for [redacted] to cease the camp which I am certain he could careless since he has swindled all of these people out of their money.

I paid fees so that my child could participate in the summer camp offered by Be inspired for 10 weeks of summer, but it closed down after 2 weeks.I attending a mandatory open house on May 20th and paid my registration, activity and tuition fees at this time. The director Mr. [redacted] was facilitating the orientation and went over all of the fun and exciting things the children would be doing over the summer which was 10 weeks. I received the flyer from my child's school and went on their website and it showed the children participating in all types of different events. They had gymnastics, karate, music, sports and much more. They even had a lego activity. I must say that my child signed up for the karate, lego and sports as his options, but the only activity I saw him participating in was karate. When I would drop my son off to camp in the morning, there was a big screen hanging from the ceiling that was either playing a movie, or music videos, and I saw the same thing no matter what time I picked my child up. My son never talked about participating in any sports and said they would only go out side for a little bit just to play with balls. No type of structured games or anyone there to teach them any sports. I did observe the kids playing with legos that were just spread out over the floor. Mr. [redacted] stated that the children would go on a field trip every week which was covered by the activities fee. Mr. [redacted] also stated that all materials would be provided to the children including camp shirts. The only field trip my child attended was on June 12th to the bowling alley which cost me $15. This field trip was planned the day before the actual trip on June 11th and there was a note stating that if the child was not going on the field trip, then they would need to be picked up by 1 because no one would be there to watch. I did express my frustration about this and having to pay for the trip and I was told by the staff that all field trips needed to be paid for by the parents and that wasn't included in the activities fees. I then questioned what the activate fee covered, and was told they didn't know and to speak with Mr. [redacted]. My son never received both of the school shirts he was supposed to get due to them missing his size in the orange colored shirt. I would talk to my son about his day at camp and he would always tell me that it was boring and all he did was play games on his friend's tablet. I became frustrated because I was under the impression that they would be helping him with his reading and math because that is something he struggled with throughout the school year. That was not the case and it looked like most of the staff were under age and probably volunteers. My son did talk about the time he spent with the karate instructor because he was actually able to engage in something whenever the sensei was present. I was never given any notice that the camp would be closing however I did receive an automated phone call on June 18th asking that the next week camp fee be paid in cash on Friday the 19th. I paid $200 on May 20th during the mandatory open house. I also paid a weekly fee of $100, a total of $300. I was never given a refund and when I called and spoke with Mr. [redacted] he basically told me that he does not have any money to return to anyone. I ended up having to pay extra for my child to be enrolled in a summer program elsewhere and had to take en entire week off work because of the abrupt ending of be inspired. By this time a majority of the summer camps had already been filled and were not accepting new campers. I eventually found him a spot at [redacted] which costs me $120 a week on top of having to pay a different application fee to get him enrolled. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a summer camp and I cannot believe that anyone would do something like this to hurt innocent children. Parents work extremely hard to make sure our little ones are protected and to find out we have placed them in the hands of someone very deceiving is heartbreaking and upsetting. I am requesting that all of the money I spent with this program, be returned to me.Desired SettlementI would like to be reimbursed for everything I spent on this camp which included my registration fee & activities fee ($200) and weekly camp tuition for 3 weeks ($300), a total of $500. I would also like for this camp to pay the registration fees I had to pay for my child to attend camp elsewhere total $100. And because the camp just shut down completely without any warning, I was not able to get my child in camp for a week causing me to have to stay home and miss work for 5 days with him at $20 a hour for 40 hours totaling $800. In total I would like for be inspired to reimburse me $1,400 for my loss.

Be inspired is a summer camp that opens for a couple of weeks and then closes down.. Services are promised to parents and are never received6-6-15 to current Desired SettlementPay employees and refund parents for services that were not given..

Beware, this is a scam. My child was supposed to begin Be Inspired Cultural Arts (BICA) camp on June 1, 2015 at the Rice University Campus. The open house orientation was held on Friday, May 29 at 7pm. It was painfully obvious they were "flying by the seat of their pants," but by that time I had already paid the first week of camp as a placeholder. I showed up Monday morning to a parking lot of angry parents. There were only 5 staff members and they were just as confused as the parents. I had to take my 6-year-old to work with me. That night at 11 pm we received an e-mail that the camp would start the next morning. By that time, we had already spoken with the owner, Quentin C** and assured that we would get a refund. Three days later, C** told my husband that he had consulted with his attorney and he was not legally obligated to give us a refund, and that we should not expect one. ","neg-2

In May 8, 2015, I paid registrations and fees to Be Inspired an amount of $1,183.00 for 7 weeks summer camp for my child camp. They only rendered 2 weeks of service. I called and emailed the company but there were no response. They owed me $615.00 total.Thank you.Desired SettlementI would like [redacted], the director, to refund me back of what he owed.
