Beach Bound Auto Sales Reviews (2)

Review: J** of beach bound auto advertised a truck as "NO RUST" and assured me that I wouldn't be disappointed in the truck that I was going to buy. So my wife and I drove 10 hours to buy a truck from him and it was junk. There was rust all over the frame of the truck that was covered up by a [redacted] poor paint job, the truck didn't shift correctly and it had an oil leak. The hood didn't latch correctly and the front end was loose. I have proof of rust and the transmission problems. This person is a disgrace to used car salesman and just a dishonest person in general. I'm sorry that the beautiful state of Delaware has someone like this doing business.Desired Settlement: My 250.00 deposit refunded to my credit card.

Review: I purchase a vehicle from Beach Bound Auto Sales of Frankford, delaware (302) 927-0185 in October 2013

It was a 2000 Lincoln LS Vin#[redacted]

Problem:

The car has been declared unsafe to be driven at any time because of the potential of the rear suspension to become totally detached from the vehicle

It has a repair estimate for three to five thousand dollars.

The vehicle was taken to Carl King\Mr.Tire auto repair center in Camden, DE

The vehicle was diagnosted with having severe rear underbody corrosion which has caused the rear passenger side control are to become detached from the car's frame.

One side of the rear end is completely detached and the other side is reported to have sigmificant rust as well.

The automobile shop's professional opinion was that the car is extremely unsafe to drive and will cost and huge amount of money to repair in relation to the car's price\value.

History:

About 5 days after the purchase, I called the dealership to tell them about a strange grinding noise that was coming from the rear of the vehicle when accerating.

I also informed them that a display warning light stiting "Check Advanctrac" stayed on for about a day and then turned off.

The salesman Brad said "it was probably nothing and just a kink that maybe worked itself out"

At no time was I offered to bring it in and have them look at the vehicle.

Additionally, The vehicle came with a 3 month\4500 mile "powertrain" warranty that was never valid.

The warrnty company was Cars Protection Plus (888) 335-6838

I contacted the warranty company at the time of my original complaint about the car. (within the first week of purchase)

The warrany company told me that they would not honor the warranty for the vehicle and return the funds to Beach Bound auto sales because the vehicle is in a repair status.

This month (March 2014) will only have been the 5 month I have owed the car, and I was driving home from work when the vehicle began to violently shake and move in a fishtail like motion.

I though I may have had a flat tire, but all tires were fully inflated. But everytime I began to accelerate up to around 30 mph, the car began to do the same violent fishtailing motion.

I managed to get the car into my driveway and noticed that all the tires still were fully inflated. I called the closest auto repair center and procedded to have to car looked at by professional mechanics.

On the way to the repair center, the car continued to violently shake when trying to accerate, I drove to the repair center at about 20-20mph, it was 2 miles from my house.

The repair center inspected and diagnosed the corrosion\rust problem with vehicle and indicated that the rear-right control arm was detached from the vehicle due to this corrosion, basically-it rusted off.

They also indicated the left-rear was suffering fromt he same corrosion and will eventually become detached as well.

The repair center informed me that a vehicle in this condition is very unsafe to drive and needs extensive repairs. The estimate was 3-5 thousand dollars, and that is even if I could find the parts. aftermarket.

This type of mechanical problem is very serious and can result in accidents and death if the rear suspension detached during driving.

A serious accident would be the result if this happened going traveling speeds on a busy highway, I could have injured or killed my self or others because of the vehicle sold to me by Beach Bound Autos/

I know have a vehicle that I an still paying for and cannot drive.

In my honest opinion, this vehicle should have not been sold to me or anyone if beach Bound Autosales did an inspection on this vehicle and was honest about the vehicle's condition.

This type of corrosion to the under carriage of a car would have been diagnosed by a professional mechanic during an inspection.

This would have been a problem before my purchase

I feel that I was sold a vehicle that was known to have a mechanical defects. This type of mechanical failure does not happen instantly, it worsens over time and Beach Bound Auto Sales would have know that fact.

I have only driven the car about 3 thousand miles since it's purchase in October of 2013Desired Settlement: I still have a lien and insurance on this vehicle that I am still paying for. I cannot drive this vehicle or afford to get it repaired.

I would like this sales transaction to to be totally reversed and also to be released from my loan with American Fincance company of Dover. This vehicle should not have been sold.

I also want to have my $300 cash and $500 trade in price they gave me for my previous vehicle reufunded by Beach Bound Auto Sales so that I may put that towards the purchase of a mechanically safe vehicle.

This car should have not been sold and I do not want it in my possession anymore. I do not want to own this vehicle, I do not want a repair offer, and I don not want another vehicle from Beach Bound Autosales.

I have also alerted the lien holder American finance of Dover,DE about this situation.
