Beach Dynamics Inc Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Stoney's had our RV since May 2016,  They knew from the beginning that we needed a minimum amount from the sale of the RV.  Initially, it was $12,000 then after not hearing anything for almost 10 months I decided to drop price to $10,000.  These amounts would have to incorporate any repairs which they were fully aware of so our minimum return would be $10,000 after all was said and done.   Both my husband, [redacted] and me have spoken to [redacted] on several occasions about the RV.  We agreed to have them look over the RV and seal any leaks and repair the fuel line.  That was all we agreed to do at the time they took the RV back in 2016.  Once there was an interested party, at almost 1 year later, 2017, [redacted] and informed him of the repairs need to the converter, leveling jacks, and awning spring .  We agreed to repair the converter, however, [redacted] was specifically informed that we are not going to pay any more money for the leveling jacks or awning spring.  We actually went back and forth with [redacted] about the cost and getting the the other repairs done.  I specifically cal[redacted] and had a discussion about this.  He told me that Stoney's was going to take on the risk and do the repairs knowing that we were NOT going to pay them and that it was all going to work on the end of the buyers.  [redacted] said " We are taking a big risk by doing this." [redacted] was doing this to ensure the sale.  I was fine as long as it was not going to be our responsibility should the sale fall through.  Furthermore, [redacted] that the buyers were on a little on the fence about the purchase because of a change in job, NOT a death in the family.  I am not sure who is tell the truth or not but when all is said and done I am willing to pay for the work we agreed upon but will not pay for the items and work we did not agree to have done as it was a "risk they were taking". I will not be held liable for work that we did not approve and was not necessary to show the RV or to have in order to function.  The leveling jacks could be manually engaged and this was a request of the buyer.  To make it fair I will agree to pay for work we approved. This cost includes everything except the leveling jacks.  The total for parts for approved work: $901.52  The total for labor : $265.00Sum:  $1,166.52   I would like to pick up the RV in full running condition and in condition as good or better than when dropped off.  I do not want anyone to touch the RV at this point on expect for making sure it is in full working and safe condition.  I want the title and all official document pertaining to the RV.  At this time I will pay $1,166.52.
Regards,
[redacted]

We are not sure if this complaint is still open as we have not received a response from anyone since our last response of the status back on February 23, 2018 (my reference RV-18-0001-BPS). I contacted [redacted]i today to advise him that we have successfully sold his unit and have met the terms and conditions of our agreement with the [redacted] We are in the process of getting the title processed into our dealership name so that we can then transfer ownership to the new customer. We will be sending the agreed to amount to the [redacted] by the end of this week as long as everything goes OK with the title process (no reason to think we will have a problem). The [redacted] have confirmed the desired mailing address that the check is going to be sent to. We are excited to have completed this agreement with these folks especially since it has taken longer to do so then either one of us would have liked or anticipated. Again, we just wanted to share this information in case this issue has not been closed yet. If this issue has already been completed at your end, please disregard this message.

The following response is in regard to the complaint as recently sent to our dealership by the Revdex.com.On May 5, 2016 the [redacted] asked our dealership to assist them in selling their 1999 Sea Breeze Class A motorhome. We offer this service and had them fill out a Consignment Contract (See...

attached signed document). The reason that we have this contract completed in advance is to insure that we don't have any misunderstandings that may come up regarding this agreement. One of the main pieces of information that this contract contains is what we call the minimum price and it is set by the customer (was set at $12,000 and later changed to $10,000 by the customer).Another section of the contract askes the customer (bottom of page #2) if there are any known problems and if so do they want us to repair said items to make the unit more sellable. We ask that the customer check these items and initial the items as you can see they did. At the time they dropped the unit off they indicated that the generator needed a new fuel line. They also indicated that they wanted us to give the unit a once over to see what else may need fixed.Initially we only found that the awning needed a spring and we fixed that and also went over the roof to check seals etc. and added some caulking to help with any water leaking. As time went on, we also discovered (while we were showing the unit to a potential buyer) that the converter stopped working and we replaced that as nothing inside the motorhome will work without that particular part in order to make it more attractive to sell. Then we had a serious customer and he was ready to buy the unit but we discovered that one of the leveling jacks was not working and the potential buyer would not consider buying the unit unless that was repaired. We made the decision to make this repair so that we could sell the unit for the [redacted]s since it has been with us awhile. We made the repair as detailed in the attached documents and advised our potential client that it was ready to go. Normally I would not make this type of repair, but we had a very strong potential buyer and we wanted to get the unit sold.Unfortunately that customer changed his mind as his wife unexpectedly passed away and they were going to travel together and now that plan had changed. We are currently advertising the unit for sale at $13,995 and we will go down to the minimum as we simply are just trying to get the unit sold for these folks and get our money back. We are not even looking to make any commission at this point; we just want to get this unit sold.I have talked to the [redacted] in the past about the repair costs but the plan has always been to insulate them from any additional expense as we were adding the repair costs to the selling price in order to recuperate those costs. Then on February 15, 2018 [redacted] called and said they wanted to pick the unit up and I advised them that was OK but we needed to get the repair costs paid to us to reimburse us for the repairs that were completed before they took it.He asked me to send them a copy of the repair and I sent them to his email [redacted]) as directed. The next thing that I received is this complaint that [redacted] has filed with your office. We have done everything that we can do to get this unit moved for these customers and we have invested our money to do so and have never charged them a penny. We still plan to fulfill our contract and get our money back when we sell the unit under the terms and conditions of our contract. If they choose to take the unit before it sells, then it is only reasonable for them to pay us for the repairs that we have completed in order to keep the unit sellable at the amount that they want.I take offense at the idea that somehow we have done something wrong here as all we have done is try everything in our power to get this unit sold for our customer. That is where we are at this point and we continue to work to sell the unit for these folks as agreed.
