Beach Ventures, Inc. Reviews (11)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

On February 27th I hired [redacted] Ventures to fix one broken tile on my roof for $275.00. On March 3rd the first attempt to fix my roof was botched so bad that the simple fix now had become a fix of several more tiles and now flashing. I wanted to meet with [redacted], the owner, to discuss how ridiculously poor the workmanship was but he refused to meet with me. Instead, he sent over another crew to fix the problem. Most of the problems that [redacted] Ventures created had been fixed except for the original broken tile that is now patched and not replaced as discussed. There is now a two-inch gap between two particular roof tiles that [redacted] Ventures had supposedly fixed and the original mortar that had separated from the house had not been replaced as discussed. On March 25th I called [redacted] and gave him a piece of my mind. He agreed to meet with me on Friday March 28th between 9:30 and 10:30 am so there would be absolutely no discrepancies on the poor quality of his work. On Friday March 28th [redacted] called to say he could not make it and rescheduled for Friday April 4th. I told him that I would be home all day. He never stopped by or called. Now it is April 14th and I am filing my second complaint against [redacted] Ventures.Desired Settlement:

At this point I no longer trust [redacted] to work on my home. I would like a full refund of $275.00.

Needless to say having a leak on a roof is very stressful. [redacted] has been great to work for and very open to us for us to resolve this issue. We found a small hole where water was entering the home. We sealed this hole and installed a cricket to divert the water from this area completely.  ...

We have completed the roofing repairs as well as the interior repairs. The original drywaller scheduled to repair the cut out was a no show. I contacted a new company and repairs were completed as per the homeowners request. I called [redacted] the husband after repairs were completed and requested he call me if there was anything further needed. We provided a written change order showing and labeling everything we were planning to do to resolve this as whet she stated in her complaint above. This took a couple of weeks to complete as we did a water test after we installed a cricket and diverter on the roof. At this point the roof is a good working system and there is no further action necessary at this time. I am pending a phone call from [redacted] to tell us she is satisfied. the ball is in her court. I will notify you of any changes or issues. My number is ###-###-#### cell. Thanks, [redacted]President of Beach Ventures Inc.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This complaint is in response to the owners reply to my original complaint, Complaint ID # [redacted]. After the roof and ceiling had been repaired all was well until recent storms. After we experienced rain, we discovered two new leaks in two different areas than the original problem. These leaks were near the air conditioning vent in the master bedroom and kitchen. We called [redacted] that day, approximately April 23rd, to let him know about the problem and he said he was going to send a worker over by that Saturday or by Monday to check what the problem was. I called [redacted] Tuesday because no one had shown up and he explained that he didn't have anyone to send, he was in the middle of a job, and that he was very tired of the situation. I asked him how he thought I felt about it. Finally, he said that he felt as though the leaks were not his fault and that the air conditioning company is responsible for it. I told him his group of workers moved the air units and that we did not have the leaks prior to the roof replacement. I purchased this roof, paid in full and still have a leaky roof. I have never had problems with my AC units and perform routine service that is required to keep them in working condition. I do not consider Complaint ID # [redacted] complete or resolved. I expect that [redacted] make time to correct his mistakes and do so in a professional and prompt matter. Thank you, [redacted] I want the leaks fixed.Regards,[redacted]

Second response to the second complaint (note [redacted] is the same person as [redacted])

I am contacting you as I do not have a customer by the name of [redacted]. This is [redacted]'s complaint which was pasted and sent to you. He stated to me he was not going to stop sending complaints. We recently visited with him last week to review the work completed by my company along with his issues. After my personal inspection. I did not find issue with the work only the fact he did not want to pay as much as he did from the original repair. I originally made the sale for service and stated $275.00 for repairs which is our minimum cost he agreed verbally and also signed a contract for the amount of $275.00 to be done on the home.

After work was completed one tile was bumped out of joint I immediately sent one of my techs to resolve this and we did. The refund stemmed from several heated conversations via telephone of mainly [redacted] yelling at me, I stated I would hang up if he continued to yell. He requested a full refund and stated he would not stop filing complaints until I gave into their request.

I looked over at the work and asked him to explain a good reason for the refund. He got within inches of my face and began screaming and yelling obscenities and stated he didn't have to give a reason and called me several colorful metaphorical names. I saw in the corner of my eye a camera as if to video tape the whole situation from his wife's point of view watching the situation take place. Then he proceeded to chest bump me and stated that I touched him and that he would sue me for touching him. I left the job without incident and without a resolution.

Solely based on his actions I will not refund due to the Bullying by this customer. The repairs are up to workmanship standards and are completed in a timely fashion. Customer failed to illustrate any fault or deficiencies. Therefore I do not feel this will be a job we can refund in any way.  I refuse to be bullied or talked to unprofessionally or in such a manner as Mr [redacted] has illustrated. If there are any questions feel free to call me with your input.

Thanks, [redacted]President[redacted] Ventures Inc.

Thank you for the opportunity to explain our side of the story.

One of my techs went out to the [redacted] home to address a tile repair on the home. After inspecting the property there was more to this repair than just a one tile job. Several tiles appeared to be set improperly by a prior...

contractor most likely the original builder. Storms may have worked these tiles loose over time. We gave a Full bid of $675.00 to lift, reset and reinstall the entire row, including replacement of any broken or missing tiles as well.

Homeowner stated he would not do a Full repair just fix the broken tiles. We lowered the cost for a partial repair to $275.00. He was happy and paid upon completion of the work we did. We left the home with a job well done. I contacted Mr [redacted] about the job and thanked him for the work. Several days later he stated one other tiles was broken. I told him that was odd as we just repaired the corner and he saw this. I didn't question it I just put it on the schedule to check it out asap. I sent the crew to address this problem. Turned out it was a mortar that was needed in a corner joint cracked out. This work was completed within 48 hours of notice to us. Again I called Mr. [redacted] to explain and insisted he do the "Full repair". At this point Mr [redacted] was quite colorful, stated I was trying to charge more money and all us contractors are the same, stated he did not have time for this and was not paying more money. Granted this is what I heard over the yelling, I had to hold the phone from my ear to listen.I'm not sure what he is expecting as there is still more to do on the home. More repairs are needed however if a customer does not take our initial inspection into account and do the Full repair then he is not listening to us as he is dead set on price and not resolution. Yes, roofing is expensive and so is labor to do these types of jobs. they are difficult as they are in high areas and hard to hold onto a ladder and swing a hammer at the same time. This is why we charge what we charge.  I can't talk to him anymore as he will not return my phone calls and I feel he has exacerbated our resources to fix the problem when he is not willing to pay for it. There is not much more to say other than I will be happy to do the Full repair but for the original $675.00 but after the way we have been treated and dealt with I would suggest another contractor to do the work. There should be no more follow up on this as there is nothing we missed. everything we were hired to do was addressed and completed. I just think sticker shock is the real culprit. Needless to say i'm not sure what he is asking for here. I will call him again to give him one last opportunity to talk to him about this. If he does not return my call then I feel we have done what we are here to do as a contractor.

Thanks,

President for [redacted] Ventures Inc.

I Contacted [redacted] and [redacted] and he contacted [redacted] to conduct water tests. We worked together to run water tests on both HVAC units. Found no leaks on one HVAC and found one leak on the other which was coming from the ducting from inside the thermostat wire above the roofline. We covered the cost to inspect with [redacted] which was $140.00 and purchased ducting sealant to seal the thermostat wire. We are pending rain this weekend and will be on stand by to see if this improves or solves the problem once in for all. Roofing work was fine and no water entered the home. As a precaution we are sealing flat roof with an elastomeric sealant which was scheduled for this afternoon 5/14. No further action is necessary. We will be waiting for the rains to pass to ensure that there are no further leaks. Any questions feel free to call me at ###-###-#### cellThanks,[redacted]

Totally fake review above. Never broke into a home or let alone dealt with INS. This is not a real review and its a shame people have to create drama. If you want real reviews go to Homeadviser[redacted] where we have 80 plus reviews from real customers. 5 star currently and carry zero[redacted]plaints. God Bless Em!

We came home this evening to find this roofer's employees had gained entrance to our home without our knowledge to perform work that our landlord had contracted with them. Not only did the owner of the company not contact us to set up the appointment to complete the work but he then talked in circles and didn't care that his employees broke into my home to perform their work duties. I WOULD NEVER do business with this company! Only when we threatened to call INS and the police did he do anything other than say "what would you like me to do"...... very poor customer service at best.

Review: The original agreement was to have one broken roof tile replaced. When the job was finished, I had two broken tiles that were poorly patched. The 2-inch gap exposing the roof structure was never addressed.

Second time: The tile [redacted] Ventures broke was replaced, but the original broken tile was not replaced, just patched. I was billed for a tile replacement NOT a tile patch job. Two-inch gab between tiles was never addressed. Roof still exposed to elements.Desired Settlement: Replace tile, Not patch, remoter joint as needed, address gap between tiles exposing base of roof.

Review: Our roof was bad and needed to be replaced. We signed a contract with Beach Ventures, Inc. on January 14, 2015 agreeing for them to do a full roof replacement for a total of $11, 750. That day a deposit of 50% or $5,875 was paid. A crew didn't come out to repair the roof for another 2 weeks. Repairs were made and the duration of the job took about 2 weeks to complete. Once the roof was complete, the final payment of $7,025 (cost included additional needed materials/labor) was made on February 10, 2015. A few days later it rained and we noticed a leak in the master bedroom. The water began gushing through the ceiling and caused it to bow. Afraid that the ceiling was going to collapse in the middle of the night, I had to frantically move bedroom furniture and my tv away from the leak. In attempt to keep the water of the carpet I had to put several garbage cans and buckets around the room. That morning I called [redacted] and he sent his guys to look at the damage. Shocked at the severity of the leak, [redacted] eventually came out and determined a cricket needed to be be build on top of the area where the leak was. The next day the crew came out and attempted to fix the leak. To prevent the ceiling from completely collapsing they had to cut out the ceiling and remove all the materials. The crew brought dryers to dry out the exposed ceiling and the carpet that were soaked. [redacted] wrote out and agreement with the following terms: 1. Cricket 2. Dry out w. nick platinum 3. Re-dry wall texture, dry out carpet, repair decorative molding 4. Netting 5. Kick Install. He then signed his name on the bottom. After the repairs had been made, they took a hose and put water on the roof. The leak was just as bad. They dried the roof again. A few days later they returned and torched the roof to seal it. After the torching we had to wait a few more days for it to all dry. They returned a few days later and tried the water hose test again. The leak was now by the air condition vent (it wasn't leaking there originally). [redacted] told me he would be out within a few days to repair this and the hole in the ceiing. After several calls I was told by [redacted] that the crew would be coming out. It has now been 6 weeks of empty promises, unanswered phone calls, and no returned phone calls. I have been unable to sleep in my bedroom. I have a hole in the ceiling that measures about 5x2 feet. My carpet is stained. This has been a complete nightmare for me. This company got paid in full and has not completed the job. They are in violation of their contract and after several attempts of resolving this with the company I am forced to take more serious measures.Desired Settlement: I would like for the repairs that were promised to be repaired in a timely manner. If this company is not suitable to repair these damages they left then I would like them to pay for a company to come out and fix the hole they left in my ceiling and leaks in my roof.

Zane Beach is a conman who hides behind a semi-legit business. He purposely cuts corners on materials and craftsmanship to save himself a buck or two. He knows

how to game the system at the homeowners expense. With his smaller substandard roofing jobs, it will cost the homeowner more in time and legal fees than the job was originally worth. Well played Zane, you win.
