July 9th, [redacted] of Feels Good Vapor came into
our store to ship an international package to Shenzhen, ChinaThe package
contained defective electronics that was being returned to the manufacturer
The pre-packed shipment was ran through our shipping system and booked through
the DHL Shipping CarrierThe package was then picked up by DHLFor a few days
after the package had been picked up, we received e-mails from DHL stating that
there had been delays in customs, which is not unusual with international
shipmentsIn a proactive attempt, a call was placed to DHL inquiring about the
delays by our staffWe were informed by DHL that there was an issue- the
recipient was not accepting the package and it was being held by DHL until the
issue was resolvedAt that point, three different employees reached out to
[redacted] via telephone and e-mailAfter the initial telephone call, explaining
to [redacted] our findings regarding this package, an e-mail was sent on 7/16/
providing the tracking number and the phone number to call:

7/17/we received another clearance delay e-mail, so we called DHL again in
an attempt to assist in the resolution of the problemAt this point, DHL suggested
that [redacted], as the shipper, get in contact with the recipient in order to
work out the issue, or she might be at risk of the package being returnedWe

We were contacted by DHL yesterday
evening and were told that the receiver of your package has begun to take
actions needed to clear the package
I called DHL this morning and Jana from DHL suggested that your company get
into contact with the receiver to urge the importance of completing the
paperwork and staying in contact with DHL so that the package can be cleared
with customs

this point, Beachwalk's Management made
a call to [redacted] to check in and make sure she was fully aware of the
situation, since e-mail responses from [redacted] were never receivedThe call
was answered with irritation and [redacted] stated that she was, "too busy with
other things" and would, "take care of it later."
We
had done our due diligence to ensure that the customer was aware of the
communication that needed to take place between her, the recipient and DHL; and
furthermore we made sure to let her know we were available if she needed any
more assistanceNo further communication was received from [redacted] regarding
this shipment until receiving this complaint
The
recipient not accepting the package is out of our control and it may be
possible that there was a turbulent situation already unfolding between [redacted]
and the manufacturer regarding the defective product being returned
Additionally, considering that international shipping rules and regulations are
frequently changing, there may be issues with customs, or other related
problems completely out of our control, all Beachwalk shipments require a
waiver to be signed by the customer prior to their release[redacted] did, in
fact, sign this waiver while she was in our store, which clearly states,
"Beachwalk Coastal Postal, LLC accepts no responsibility for packages or mail
shipped from our facility
.By shipping with us you agree to these terms."
In
conclusion, we do feel as if there was a substantial amount of effort put
forward by our staff members to help [redacted] resolve this situation, which is
the professional courtesy we extend to all of our customersHowever, our
waiver exists for the reason that we are the, "facilitator" and not the
shipper, and therefor can not accept responsibility in any way for issues
surrounding packages shipped from our facility that occur once it leaves our
premises
