Beacon Marine Chandlery

Review: On 8/3/2013 at 10:32 am I purchased a 6 volt battery from Beacon Marine. I brought the old battery that needed replacement with me to the store for recycling. I returned to my boat and attempted to install the battery. When I removed the red terminal cover I observed that the positive terminal of the battery had no terminal. I brought the battery back to Beacon Marine later in the day. I was told to leave it. The did not have one to offer as a replacement. I was told someone would 'be in touch". Over the course of a month I stopped in several times to speak with the owner, who was never available. After several more weeks I received a call from the owner that the new battery I had purchased was "too old" and therefore not covered by warranty. The battery was sold as new, with a full two year warranty. I have received no relief nor credit. The cost was 129.95 plus tax. Also during the same time period I purchased a 12 volt starting battery form the same establishment. The 12 volt battery failed and I returned once again to Beacon marine. I was offered a replacement battery but I would have to once again wait. I asked for a refund, and was offered 75% store credit, I demanded a refund so I could buy a battery from a reputable and dependable store. I have the receipts, and I have been swindled. The business practices are to say the least questionable. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like payment in full for the batteries. Considerable time and effort was expended by me to remove and replace the batteries. Additionally, I was charged a 10 dollar core fee to purchase a replacement battery at west marine.
