Bear Brothers Roofing does not dispute that issues existed upon completion of the first roof; however, we strongly dispute the accuracy of the statements made in the complaintWe acknowledged the necessity to replace the roof in its entirety, on our own accord, and did so without hesitationAll of
our representatives conduct themselves in a professional manner and, until this review, our client never mentioned feeling “very uncomfortable” throughout any portion of the projectIn fact, the project manager overseeing the job is also femaleAny complaints regarding leaks or trash were addressed promptlyWe had no prior knowledge of any products she had on her patio being used by any of our workers at any timeRegarding the gutters and downspouts, it was the homeowner’s request for us to not replace one of the downspouts because she did not like the way it lookedWe repeatedly explained to her the necessity for that downspout for proper drainageIt was only after multiple visits, she acknowledged the downspout was required and at that point it was installedAt no time did we threaten, abuse, or harass our clientWe simply requested payment after addressing all issues, reducing the invoice price significantly, and passing the city final inspection. As our last recourse to secure payment for the work provided, we did issue a notice of an intent to lien the property, but only after all issues were addressed and a discount applied on a job that was completed. We received a final payment in early January and considered the file closed. It is surprising to us to receive a request for yet more money, almost four months later after resolution from both parties was met
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/08/23) */
In regards to the [redacted] complaint, Bear Brothers Roofing has taken great lengths to explain to the homeowners that at the time of the repair we were going to go directly off of the insurance scope and what they paid to have done. This was...
simply "a repair of tiles". It was explained thoroughly at the time that the insurance company did not pay to tear off the roof and replace any flashing membranes or underlayment and if indeed this was to be done it would be at a cost to the homeowner. The homeowner chose not to replace any flashing or do anything other than what the insurance company paid to do. Bear Brothers informed the homeowners that just replacing the tiles may or may not correct any leaking that has occurred. Unfortunately we have no control as to what insurance companies guidelines state. Bear Brothers Roofing will be more than willing to help the [redacted] work with their insurance company on trying to get proper compensation for their current damages based on insufficient funds for that specific claim.
