Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The insurance is company does not require an itemized invoice although that would be nice, they are asking for a copy of the bill showing the total amount dueThat's all I am asking forWho pay's a bill without seeing what's owedI have ben given a verbal total but they need something visual Regards, [redacted] ***

First, I will explain that we are indeed contracted with the City of Mansfield Police Department to recover, clean up, and tow away all accidents that are blocking the roadway as well as other services they request In our contract, we are to recover the vehicle, clean up the mess, and get it out of the roadway as soon as possible to ensure the safety of all other citizens, as well as, our police and fire department, and get the roadway opened back up to normal We cannot give you an accurate price quote on how much it is until the tow is completed since we do not know the situation upon arriving with the vehicle We are instructed to get it out of the roadway first In your mother's situation, when the accident occurred, there was a lot of debris from her vehicle, including radiator fluid leaking from the car In the mean time, while you were on your way coming to Mansfield to the accident scene, our part of the clean up in which our driver did, was completed as well as the tow to the gas station, QT, in which your mother instructed us to do and our driver waited there with your mother until you arrived That is what the 1/hour at $was charged for, clean up labor and waiting timeAccording to our GPS records and feedback given from the truck's computer, our driver was out on scene cleaning up and recovering the vehicle, as well as waiting for you to arrive for almost an hourYou were only charged for 1/hour The $is the contracted rate to tow the vehicle ANYWHERE within the city limits of Mansfield, and any further past the city limits, is $3/mile With the knowledge of our rates that our driver gave you, you decided to use your insurance company, which is completely understandable Although, our rates did not change based on your choice to use the insurance company after discussing this at the QT gas station I can assure you that our driver was NOT doing paperwork for 1/hour and charged you for it, but what you were charged was for clean up of debris on scene and waiting time for you to arrive The $was 12% of the entire tow bill for fuel adjustment, which is also included in the contracted rate with the city I am sorry that you had a bad experience with towers but we also have an important task to complete to ensure the safety of all other individuals, including your mother and her property

An itemized invoice can not be generated until the service is paid Once the service is paid for, the itemized invoice is computer generated and is given to the customer as proof of payment upon picking the vehicle up This is how the police department knows that a vehicle is paid for once an invoice is generated and they release the vehicle from that invoice If your insurance company is agreeing to pay for the fees, they are welcome to contact us to work out payment arrangements We deal with insurance companies on a daily basis so this that you are requesting is not anything new to them handling If the insurance company has agreed to pay, then they contact us directly to arrange payment I have not heard of any insurance company agreeing to reimburse you the fees if you haven't even incurred the cost I will be happy to work directly with your insurance company to get the bill paid so you may reclaim your vehicle

First, let me apologize as there is a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding in this entire transaction, which does not give any excuse as to why this transaction turned out like it did. I truly understand your frustration. Let me address your concerns about our company
first. We are a family owned and operated business that tows for individuals at the owner's request as well as at the request of multiple police municipalities. As far as police municipalities goes, it is in EVERYONE's best interest, your safety, the safety of first responders, our employee's safety and the public's safety to get your vehicle out of the roadway as quickly and safely as possible to avoid any future mishaps that could occur from rubbernecking. As you can probably guess, being in this business, we have towed many vehicles that have been involved in a collision because of the curiosity of the driver at the expense of another ongoing collision that had already occurred. Thus being the PRIMARY reason we are instructed to clear the roadway before any pricing negotiations occur. Secondly, comes the pricing that we are subject to due to the police municipalities calling us on scene. These contracts are in place for the simple reason that we MUST get to the scene of an accident within minutes to clear the roadway and get traffic flowing back to as a safety precaution. As a result of the contract, we are bound by contracted pricing. In your case, the pricing was quoted as $per mile, which is the rates of an individual calling, and not a police municipality. Since your vehicle was towed at the request of the police municipality, we are bound to those rates at $for hook, $per mile and NO fuel adjustment and not the rates of an individual call, which was explained to you when you called back the next day for a further explanation of the rates chargedPlease trust that we have rectified this issue in house and were not trying to be deceptive in anyway. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention and again, this was an honest misunderstanding for the type of call it was and the rates given during your quote

Per the state law, all we are required to show is the invoice through a glass windowIf you like like to come take a photo of that, you are more than welcomeAfter all, when you go to any retail store or get a service performed, you don’t get a receipt until after you paid and the service is complete

First, let me say that this vehicle was impounded at the request of the Mansfield Police Department after an arrest was made by the driver of this vehicle. We do not know the condition of the vehicle, other than when it is picked up, when take photo graphs but do not do an inspection of the
vehicle other than . The vehicle was most likely left running by the police agency and it was driven up on the bed by our driver when it was picked up. This vehicle however, at drop did not start when tried to drive it off the bed, therefore, presumably the battery was not good when we picked it up. Per our company policy, State of Texas rules and regulation and insurance requirements, vehicles are not to be worked on in any way on our vehicle storage facility. All vehicles must be driven out or towed out. If it does not start, you may hire us to provide you with a jump start service, or you may hire another person to have the vehicle towed out. You were not required to hire us to perform this service

First off, this person was corrected at being explained on the scene that it would cost him $for the tow if it went to his house. If it went the Fort Worth Auto Pound or any other yard for that matter, we would bill the City of Fort Worth or other yard respectively so he would not
have to come out of pocket right then for the tow (which is what he advised my driver that he didn't want to pay out of pocket then) Therefore, we brought the vehicle back to our yard since he didn't want to pay for the services. Either way, the service we provided, is a billable service to the owner of the vehicle (his daughter was driving) so whether we brought it back to our yard, the City of Fort Worth's impound or somewhere else, the charges would follow the vehicle and he would still be responsible for the charges no matter where the car went when he came to pick it up. If the car indeed did go the Fort Worth impound, then yes, we would charge the City of Fort Worth for the service and then he would be responsible for reimbursing the City of Forth for the charges. I have never experienced a service in this entire world that comes for free. One would think, if it goes to the owners house or another tow yard, the owner would STILL be responsible for the charges, at the time the vehicle is claimed. I think that perhaps there was a language barrier that took place and may have impaired him from fully understanding what my driver told him regarding who pays for the tow and decided to bring it to our tow yard after requesting for a wrecker from the Fort Worth Police Department. The state law requires any licensed storage facility to run MVR, secure the customers belonging, and send certified notices to the owner and/or lienholder of the vehicle. In which this particular situation, he was charged for the tow, storage, impound and notification, all which is regulated by the state for a licensed storage facility to charge. We were in no wrong doing in this particular case

I am rejecting this response because: The service was completeMy vehicle was towed to the police lot where it still resides contrary to the people I have spoken to at your company who tell me it is at your locationAs the service iethe tow is complete and there is no further service connected other than payment it is not unreasonable to expect a copy of the bill provided to my insurance company so they can pay you, or for a copy of the total bill so I can give to the insurance agency so they can pay youEither way it is holding up your company from receiving funds.

I am rejecting this response because:This is the standard response they have been given everyone on all reviews and blogs. You mentioned my arrest has nothing to do with your company running customers batteries or even having them to purchase gas once you have a towed a car for any reason. I would like for you to provide to me how many customers you have had to give a give a jump or they have had to purchase gas from you? There was nothing wrong with my battery and I have never had any issues with my battery so, not sure why all of sudden it was drained. You stated you drove it on the flat bed but, my records show it was hooked on and not on a flat bed. Whatever reasons you are towing a car you should not use every right you have to make money legally or illegally and I think a lot of people of retrieve their cars from you there is always something wrong. I know there was nothing wrong with my car and definitely not everyone else that has comes to pick there car up also

I am rejecting this response because: I didn't tell the driver that I did not want for service at the time that it was delivered as the company's response claimsI was ready to pay on the spot, and it was the driver who claimed that he wanted to save me some money, that's why he suggested towing it to the company yard, telling me I would not be responsible for the charges if it was towed thereI do understand that people pay for services provided to them, that's why I suggested towing the car to my house so I could pay only for the towing and not for the storage and other related expensesI asked the manager to call the driver to verify if what I was saying was true and she refusedI am wonder where the gets the view that it was me who misunderstood what the driver was saying when she never tried to verify my claims with the driver while I was presentI am not disputing the validity of the chargesI am disputing that I was given wrong information at the time service was provided and then charged for service I had opted to forego but took it only because I had been told (incorrectly) that it was free

You made a verbal agreement to have the paperwork mail to you since you were not in the DFW area Also, as stated in the term within purchasing the vehicle, it states the following:"Vehicle Paperwork:A STORAGE LIEN CERTIFICATE will be provided for title paperwork within business days to the
winning bidder (unless otherwise stated)All winning bidders in the DFW area MUST PICKUP their paperwork in person unless other arrangements have been made in writing with Beard's Towing repsAll paperwork MUST be made out in the company name exactly as it appears on the winning bidder’s online account at the time of auction closeIf no company name is provided, then it will be listed in the individual name exactly as it appears on the winning bidder’s online account at the time of auction closeUpdating your online account information AFTER the item closes will not update your title paperwork informationAll paperwork will appear exactly like it is on your invoice. "We do not have control of the USPS, and it was mailed around a holiday (Memorial Day) We have completed all steps as outlined online under the terms when you chose to purchase this vehicle I apologize on behalf of the USPS that you have not received your paperwork, although, it is not our fault

An itemized invoice can not be generated until the service is paid. Once the service is paid for, the itemized invoice is computer generated and is given to the customer as proof of payment upon picking the vehicle up. This is how the police department knows that a vehicle is paid for
once an invoice is generated and they release the vehicle from that invoice. If your insurance company is agreeing to pay for the fees, they are welcome to contact us to work out payment arrangements. We deal with insurance companies on a daily basis so this that you are requesting is not anything new to them handling. If the insurance company has agreed to pay, then they contact us directly to arrange payment. I have not heard of any insurance company agreeing to reimburse you the fees if you haven't even incurred the cost. I will be happy to work directly with your insurance company to get the bill paid so you may reclaim your vehicle
