IN RESPONSE TO ID# [redacted], Ms. [redacted]'s statement is correct to a certain point. At the time that the 2007 [redacted] was brought in for a check over, a preliminary estimate was quoted on labor only in the amount of $568.57. It was under the impression that the customer was to bring their...

own parts in to save on cost. The vehicle was brought in about a few days later on 3/29/2016 by [redacted], Ms [redacted] signifigant other. We updated the quote on the repairs to a new amount due to the fact that he did not supply us with the parts for the repairs. Cory (service writer) provided Mr [redacted] with a total consisting of all parts and labor which totaled to the amount of $1925.58. Mr [redacted] was aware of the total cost of parts and labor and asked if we did not include the shocks because they were expensive. We then quoted him a price which did not include the shocks and labor on the shock, in which he called Ms [redacted] to get an approval. After a few minutes of conversation with Ms [redacted], Mr [redacted] told us give him the original quote with the shocks. When he finished talking on the phone, he told Cory that the entire job was approved in which he knew the quote already. As the responsible adult that drove the vehicle in, Mr [redacted], therfore said to "go ahead and do the whole job including the shocks. After the job was completed, we handed Mr [redacted] the invoice and he said he didnt have enough money to pay the entire bill. He requested to go home to pick up the rest of the money. We provided him a courtesy ride to his home so he can do just that. Both Ms [redacted] and Mr [redacted] came in the next day complaining about the price in which they paid. Ms [redacted] questioned us why was she charged $1925.58. We explained to her what the break down was and that Mr. [redacted] relayed the total price over the phone to her. To our knowledge, she agreed with the price. She then questioned Mr [redacted] about the price in which he admitted to the total price of $1925.58. It was then that we found out Mr [redacted] never told her the total of the repairs. He told her a lower price. Ms [redacted] was furious and after a drawn out argument amonst themselves, she asked us about a quote on engine mounts which are broken. The miscommunication was between Mr [redacted] and Ms [redacted], not with the shop.

July 27. 2015On May 22nd [redacted] brought his [redacted] in the shop for repairs.  We found that the CEL was on and suggested after finding problem that [redacted] replace the intake boot because of  rip and also needed boot replaced.  Customer did not have money at time for...

all parts/labor. So we make it work with what we had and the car was fine.  The could of been a permanent fix, not temporary.  Customer was aware of things fixed over a phone call upon approval of work completed.  Thanks,

In response to this complaint, On July 16, 2016, the husband of [redacted], brought in a 2011 [redacted] and requested brake service.  Ron, the attending mechanic performed a front and rear brake inspection, and informed the customer that he needed to replace the front and rear brake...

pads and rotors.  The customer agreed and gave authorization to go ahead and replace it.  We ordered the parts and installed it.  The customer paid and drove off.  The customer returned on Monday and said there was a noise issue.  We test drove it and heard a “knock” sound coming from the rear which was not related to a normal “brake” noise.  We raised the vehicle up on the lift and inspected the brakes and suspension.  We did not find anything wrong with the brakes.  But to satisfy the customer, we replaced the rear brakes with a new set.  As far as the hardware, clips and shims, we had reinstalled to original clips on the grounds that sometimes “after market” clips may not exactly fit nor work.  The customer received the car and came back again.  We told him that we did everything we could to rectify the noise issue and reassured him that in no way it would impact the safety of the car.  The customer was disgruntle and insisted that we fix the problem.  He stated that he would take the car somewhere else and have them check it.  We told him that if the next shop find out the issue is in the brakes, we would reimburse him whatever the shop charge him to fix it provided that he return our parts.  He came in a week later with a hand written sales receipt with no shop info, a price that was charged to him.  He insisted that we pay him the shop fee plus refund him what we charged.  We told him that was not the deal, that way if we did do that, he would end up spending zero dollars on a repair which is not ethical.  As far as the hub cap goes, there was broken clips that hold a spring on the hub cap which puts tension against the wheel so it would not fall off.  The cap was put back on before he left out with his car.  We ordered a new hub cap from the dealer to satisfy his complaint.  We did all we could to keep the customer satisfied but his belief was trying to get a free job out the ordeal.

Thank you for your assistance in contacting the company. I am rejecting the business' response because there are a lot of things mentioned in the letter that are not accurate and/or I do not agree with. I have made the decision to take legal action against Fort Washington Shell. If there is any additional information required from me, please feel free to contact me.
Once again, you efforts are sincerely appreciated.
Warmest regards,
[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: This statement is a lie and I have proof of it. They never once informed me of the real issue they found. They simply told me it was fixed and there would not be any further cost beyond the initial change. Since making my complaint, I've found other customers with similar stories to mine. Since the Shell station is refusing to make this right I will pursue legal actions at this time. I have witnesses and as well as the faulty part they did not repair. This lack of repair placed me in danger and I will not let them get away or endanger others with this type of business practice. I would like to thank Revdex.com for your efforts.
Regards,
