To whom it may concern,we would like to apologize for the current incident. Tracy Smog Center just went through a new owner transfer and as of 7/10/17 the old owner and technician are no longer a part of this business . Before taking over the establishment the owner explained the situation regarding...

the customers complaint, and we find that the technician was all in the right to fail the vehicle since it had a missing air intake box, an emission component which all vehicles need to have in order to pass and meet emission testing standards. It was brought to my attention that the customer felt like he did not need to pay for the Smog because his car had failed the test and that he should only have to pay if it passes which is never the case in any testing facilities anywhere .After the customer made it clear that he would leave without paying ,the technician did not want the customer to leave without paying for the service,so he did what he could to prevent that .Customer then called the local authorities regarding the matter and he too advised the customer to take care of the testing fee. Customer felt upset because things did not go his way ,an associate of the client also came down and was explained the problem and saw that his friend was over reacting over nothing and chose to pay for the test himself .Again the new Tracy Smog Center is very sorry for the incident but we believe service done should be paid regardless the outcome of the test. As a residence of the state of California it is your responsibility to make sure your vehicle meets the emission standards prior to being tested . We are only responsible for testing the vehicle ,the result of that test only reflects the care the owner gives the vehicle , and for that we are not responsible.
