Beauty Inc Reviews (1)

Review: Beauty is a salon that I have been going to for almost two years. Recently they terminated an employee, and they failed to leave myself as well as other clients with any options. They also failed to cancel or call me regarding my standing appointment that I had scheduled. I never received a call or email or anything regarding the termination of this employee, the status of my appointment, and they failed to communicate with me the options I had within the business in reference to the continuing of service with my stylist or someone else that could aid me in my care of hair. So what I have here is a failure to communicate the termination of an employee, the failure to inform me my standing appointment situation, and they didn't leave me with any options to get in contact with my stylist.Desired Settlement: I hope the outcome of this situation would be that they reevaluate their communication skills as a business. Also reevaluate the skills, work ethic, and service of the employee they let go. I believe it was unfair and she wasn't given a fair chance. I also would like an apology or some type of service that would give me some type of satisfaction or reinteration of what this company stands for. I'm disappointed and at the same time hurt because I almost feel as though they left me high and dry and I've been dedicating my time and money into this business.

My name is [redacted]. I’m the owner of Beauty, Inc. I received your letter regarding the complaint against us from [redacted] (complaint assignment #[redacted]). I appreciate the opportunity to dispute this complaint. On 10.12.13 (Saturday morning) We terminated an employee for several reasons. One of several reasons being, she was setting up appointments for hair services personally using her own cell phone. She would regularly show up at the salon on days she was not scheduled to be there, with clients she booked personally and not through our front desk and computer system. This is a practice that is highly prohibited and is detailed in our employment manual. Every customer booked for services in the salon must go through our computer system. This employee was not doing this.

[redacted] is one of the clients that was brought in to the salon on occasion for services she set up with her stylist directly. On Saturday, 10.12.13 [redacted] did have an appointment with the stylist we let go. Although we’d like to have given [redacted] more than 1.5 hours notice of her stylists termination, we were unable to do so because the stylist was let go that morning. Our salon was booked with a wedding party that morning and we were not able to accommodate the same appointment time. She was offered to see another stylist. All of the appointments affected by our stylists termination were offered another stylist.

Regarding [redacted]s reference to not knowing how to get ahold of her stylist, this is a complete untruth. She is friends with our former employee. I’d like to share a quick story that happened on October 1st of this year. [redacted] showed up at our salon for an appointment that she had set up with her stylist directly. The stylist was not there ( she forgot)as she was not scheduled to be in the salon this day. Our front desk manager was there. Her name is [redacted] informed [redacted] that her stylist did not work that day but she’d try to get ahold of the stylist. When [redacted] was unable to reach the stylist, [redacted] informed [redacted], that she knew how to get ahold of the stylist….and did so immediately. Her stylist showed up ½ hour later to do [redacted]’s hair. We then added [redacted]’s name to our appointment books.

Regarding “standing appointments”…..[redacted] didn’t have standing appointments. Standing appointments in our industry refers to an appointments on a recurring schedule. [redacted] would book appointments through us if she was able to get the time she wanted with her stylist. If her stylist wasn’t working on a day she needed, [redacted] would call the stylist directly and set something up on the side. My salon is computerized and I am willing to produce [redacted]’s complete appointment history with our salon at your request. Nothing about her history of appointments is regular.

Lastly, the day we let go of our stylist, she gave us an email address that we could share with anyone looking to continue booking hair appointments with her. The email address our former employee gave us is [redacted] . This email address was shared with [redacted] and all of our former stylists clients inquiring as to her whereabouts.

Further information for your records is that we are currently fighting the unemployment claims from this employee we let go. [redacted] and this former employee are friends and I believe this complaint is a revenge tactic. [redacted]’s statement in the complaint that reads, “ they need to reevaluate the skills, work ethic, and service of the employee they let go. I believe it was unfair and she wasn’t given a fair chance” does not warrant a complaint against our business. This is an angry young girl who is mad we let go of her friend. I am sorry to have had to lose this employee, she was a good hairdresser and we are sorry to disappoint [redacted] as well, however we have 31 other stylists that would love to retain [redacted]’s business.

We are a business voted in 2012, BEST SALON in Milwaukee. We have an impeccable reputation and a 21 year history in this city. This week we have been voted BEST BLOW OUT in [redacted]. Our goal from the beginning in 2003 has been to be the best in our industry and service our customers to the highest degree.

I will also provide you the names of my two front desk managers that dealt with the clients affected by the termination of our stylist. [redacted]. Please feel free to contact them with further questions. I can also be reached by cell phone at [redacted]. Thank you for taking the time to read and hear out our side.
