Beauty Nails Corporation Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased a gift certificate for $67.00 from Beauty Nails on December 19, 2018 by telephone and paid by credit card. (Attached) I was told that Beauty Nails do not mail gift certificates, but that my mother could pick up the gift certificate at the salon as it would be waiting for her at the front desk.
My mother, who previously went to the salon every couple of months, began chemotherapy and radiation treatments for lymphoma shortly after the gift certificate was purchased and was never well enough to go to the salon. She passed away on August 4th.

When I went in to Beauty Nails to ask if I could either have a refund or have the certificate transferred to someone else, they couldn't find any record of it. Their record system consists only of gift certificate ticket stubs, hand written with dates and amounts, but no names. My date and amount were not in the pile. I came back to the salon with proof of purchase in the form of my credit card statement, but they would not accept it as proof (their name is on the statement) and have essentially stolen my $67 and offered nothing for it. They alleged that it was perhaps already given to my mother or someone in my family, yet they have no ticket stub or records for that date or amount. It seems clear to me that there has been a mistake or dishonest transaction by one of their employees, but the manager would not acknowledge that possibility or take any responsibility for the money they charged me.

To whom it may concern,

The lady came to my salon, Beauty Nails, the first time and told me about the gift certificate she purchased and her mom's problem. In the second time, she came with the proof that we charged her credit card $67. Both of the times, she kept asking for refund. I looked for our record twice in front of her but could not find any gift that matched for the date and the amount. I explained to her that the only way to use the gift is to bring it in.

After the second time, I still refused her request for a few reasons. Our salon's policy for gift certificate is No Cash Value Refund (written on the gift's bottom line). Second, the purchase of $67 could be any services she used from the past with our business.

Third, if we sold the gift certificate on the phone, we supposed to have the record and the envelope ready for customer's pick up. Since both sides have no record after roughly 9 months, it could be used by someone already. Whoever brings in the gift certificate for the services, we have to take it no matter who bought it within a year. After any gift is used, we match the records and throw away in the end of the day.

I shared the story and got advices from a few customers. They understood and agreed with my decision. I tried to be right for the business and fair with customers. After roughly 10 years doing business, this is the first time I have to deal with problem like this. in honor of her mom passing away, I offered her that if I or her have the customer's record I will refund that amount of money back to her credit card account. I want to make sure that, if the gift existed, nobody ever used it yet. I attached the Gift Certificate Sample.

Any further question, please contact me at .

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

The business has not resolved the complaint at all. The manager has only responded in the exact same way that he responded when I spoke to him weeks ago in the nail salon. I would have been happy with the gift certificate that I purchased so that I could give it to a friend who lives local to the salon, but the owner would not honor my proof of purchase. I was not demanding a refund until he became rude and uncooperative, at which point I didn't want to set foot in his salon ever again.

The fault falls entirely with the business which has no proper system to record purchases. The salon that I frequent has a system to log all gift certificate purchases on the computer so they know whether or not the gift certificate has been used. I assumed this was the case when I made this purchase over the phone with my credit card. This business told me my mother could pick up the gift certificate, but had no way track whether or not she had collected it. They have no proof that anyone collected it or that the $67 was for another service. They simply have no records, so they should in the very least assume that their customers are being honest. They would not mail my mother (who lives local to the salon) the gift certificate, so how could they possibly then say I was not being honest when I came to collect it? Perhaps was not just a mistake on their part, but maybe I've been purposely mislead and my money taken with no intent to give me/my mother a gift certificate in the first place.
I am obviously being honest as I have certainly spent far more than $67 worth of my precious time on visiting the shop twice and then writing messages to the Revdex.com. Anyone who was being dishonest surely would've given up after the first try when they didn't get anywhere. This is about right and wrong. I hope something can be done so no more people fall prey to the unscrupulous practices of this business.
In the very least I would hope that the Revdex.com will follow up and make sure this business puts a system in place that will not allow this to happen to another customer. Because the amounts they are stealing from customers are not worth taking legal action, they will go on ripping off customers if no one takes action.

Regards

To end this case, I am going to refund $67 to rhis customer. It's not worth for all the time writing Up to this point, I still don't take it as my fault. Taking credit card information on the phone is not allowed in my business. It might happened by one of my employees without my knowledge or when I was away. On the other side, this customer waited for nine months without saying anything. It would be better if she or her mom make me a call to place a hold of it. It becomes harder for me to handle this issue based on the way that we usually handle the gift certificate.

I also disagreed with her about being rude and uncooperative. I responded to her professionally in the business manner.

Please somehow provide me the credit card information or stop by our salon for refund, whichever way convenience. My business number is .

Best regards,

San D
