Mr*** approached Becco with the lead based paint problemWe looked over the order to repair and inspected the property to ensure it was within our scope of abilities and felt like it wasI gave Mr*** a verbal estimate of 7,and insisted that he get additional quotes from other
contractors as wellI told him that there were a number of things that needed completed with the state before we could start and he understoodOne of the things that was required of our licensed supervisor was medical clearance by a physicianThis clearance had to be obtained prior to beginning work on Mr *** propertyBecause of stringent HIPPA laws protecting patient privacy I am not authorized to give any information regarding this detail other than to say that medical clearance could not be obtained at that timeThere were several other requirements that we were working on that we had corresponded regularly with the State about as well that were in processHowever until the licensed Supervisor could achieve the required medical clearance there was nothing more we could doWe did have two other workers whom were working through the channels to get licensing to perform work as well but the State will only allow them to work on jobs where a licensed, and medically cleared, supervisor is availableWhen Mr*** emailed me the last time, for an update, and an eta on our start date, I had to remain vague with him regarding the details of the hold up.(Again because of HIPPA regulations and patient privacy laws)Because this time he had expressed concern with the cost of waiting any longer I wasted no time in sending him a list of other licensed contractors in Ohio and recommended (again) that he see if someone else might be able to help him right away, as I was still unsure when we would get the needed medical clearanceAt no time were we contractually bound to one another or under written agreement and Mr*** was free to shop around at any time he became unhappy with the speed of thingsI apologize that he has been told by others that no correspondence/pre approval is necessary with the State but that is simply not trueMy company acts responsibly at all times with customers and we attempt to deliver quality and honesty at all timesI will not assume responsibility for any wrongdoing given the circumstances that we were attempting to deal with
