Waste of money except perhaps routine oil changes
Took our 2018 Toyota Highlander in for electrical issue, battery would die at stoplight after auto start/stop feature was engaged, the car would power back on though. Tested the voltage of battery which was good, slight drop under load but bolts recovered quickly once car restarted. They came up with over $1800 of repairs we needed which included a new battery to solve our problem. After approving repairs and new battery, car is doing the same exact thing. Another shop said it's obviously something to do with the accumulater, not a battery issue at all. Any critical thinker that works on cars routinely should have known and checked the electric, especially given the info that about voltage testing on battery. This shop might be ok for run of the mill error codes or oil changes where their computer system can diagnose the issue, but if you need a shop that has anyone skilled in diagnosing a problem than a computer misses, this is a waste of money.

August 24, 2015This letter is in response to your letter dated August 10, 2015, regarding [redacted], who feels that we are “stealing people blind.” First of all, [redacted] needs to understand that we, along with the rest of world, do not work for free—especially when we are called by...

the police to an accident at 10:00 p.m. Our job is to drop everything and respond immediately when the police call, regardless of what else we are doing at the time. We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to accidents. Becker’s Service Center has been in business for 31 years. If we were the kind of business that ripped people off, we wouldn’t have been in business for five years, let alone 31 years!Regarding the details of this particular situation, [redacted]’s son was involved in a vehicular accident and was charged with DUI. The local police contacted us to pick up THREE vehicles because of [redacted]’s son. The son smashed into a parked car with so much force that it got pushed into a yard and stuck on a tree stump! He then slammed into a second car that was also pushed into a yard. All three of these vehicles were totaled. We responded with two of our roll backs and spent two hours on this accident. Furthermore, there were no keys for these vehicles, which makes it much harder to winch and load onto a rollback. That’s two rollbacks, two employees, two hours, winching, and no keys—does [redacted] think we should feel sorry for his drunken son and do this for free? He should feel thankful that his son hit parked cars with no occupants, and not occupied vehicles, or a pedestrian on the sidewalk, which could have led to the injury or death of others.Additionally, our rates are very much in line with other area garages of our caliber. We absolutely do not charge significantly more than anyone else. Our charge of $330 ($250 accident fee, $20 a day for storage) for this situation is very fair. I am attaching a few invoices from other garages showing their fees for accident calls. They are the most recent invoices I have. They are from secondary towing for insurance companies.Regards,
