No response after repeated attempts over several weeks to complete a name change on lease.I have been trying to make contact with Becklee Real Estate to terminate my lease with them at [redacted] NC since January 27th, 2014. As per their suggestion and as outlined on the attached lease agreement (Section 5, subsection L) between us that commenced on July 21st, 2013, I have attempted to arrange for another renter to take over my portion of the current lease. I was informed on February 3rd, 2014 through the first and only email I received from their business email address pertaining to my request that all I needed to do to complete the process of removing myself from the lease was to pay a $150 name change fee, and that the new applicant/tenant would need to submit a rental application and $40 application fee, and be approved. These materials were personally delivered by me to Becklee Real Estate's office at 1505 Hillsborough Street on February 2nd, 2014. Since then, I have only received extremely sporadic correspondence from them through email. None of my phone calls or voicemails have been returned. They clearly have not processed the potential new tenant's application, as the $40 application fee check that I wrote has not been cashed and they have not contacted me with further instruction. This shows that they have shirked their duty to make a good faith effort to re-rent the unit, despite my repeated attempts to make the process go as smoothly as possible. Only one of my emails have been responded to since March 4th - which was one that I sent to [redacted]'s personal email address that I was only able to find after scouring the internet. I was forced to resort to this as I was getting no response from the business email I was provided with and had previously been using to contact the company. She informed me on March 4th that she would check on the status of my request that day and get back to me. Since then, I have not heard from her and have consequently sent her three follow-up emails - one on March 5th, one on March 6th, and one March 17th. I have not lived at [redacted] since February 2nd, 2014.Desired SettlementAn immediate removal of my name from the current lease at [redacted] NC, and a waiving of the $150 name change fee in reparation for the excessive amount of effort I have put into resolving this situation and the immense stress it has caused me. Also, a refund of my portion of the security deposit.Business Response We can not release Ms. [redacted] from the lease without a form signed by everyone. We do not refund security deposits until the lease is complete or the home is vacated. The lease runs through July. We have sent the forms that must be completed by all parties on the Lease. It is a joint lease, not an individual Lease so she is committed through the lease unless her roommate agrees to release her. Consumer Response I have not received the forms that are referred to in Becklee Real Estate's response. I have contacted the current tenants, and they have not received the forms either. I emailed [redacted] several weeks ago telling her I had not received them, and she never responded. Please mail the forms to: [redacted] XXXXXI will be moving out of the state on May 30th, so please mail them immediately. Thank you.

Becklee Real Estate managed my properties from 6/2010 to 5/2014, they have not provided statements, or deposited rental income from 06/2013 to 5/2014Becklee Real Estate managed my three properties in [redacted] from 6/2010 to 5/2014, they have not provided statements, or deposited rental income from 06/2013 to 5/2014. After switching management companies rental payments have been received and per the tenants, they have paid rent on time. My calls are never returned, and rarely are my e-mails returned. The few responses I have received state that they will process shortly, but nothing ever happens. In addition, I was not provided a 1099 MISC for tax filing in 2014.It is very frustrating not to receive funds that are yours, but it is even more frustrating when you can not even discuss the issue.Desired SettlementI am seeking to receive statements and deposit the rental income for the period not provided for.

Becklee Real Estate has not returned our calls for over a month. We moved out of their rental property they are yet to send us our deposit.ON January 14th 2014 I and my husband sent Becklee an email stating we will be leaving the rental property [redacted] in a month's time. We received no response. We went ahead to send a fax and we called several times to leave voicemail. We even went ahead to call [redacted] and one other employee who were emergency contacts so they could forward the message but so far we have not received any phone calls emails or fax to any of the messages sent. We stayed in the above property for 1 and a half months. We never called for any repairs and we were never late to make payments on time. We are so disappointed that being loyal customers we are not being accorded the necessary respect in this matter. A good business will never treat their clients this way. The impression we now have is that they were just interested in collecting their monthly payments. Our last day at the property was February 14th 2014. We are still waiting to hear from them so we can get part of the rent for this month and our deposit. We still have the keys to the rental since they did not reply to tell us how to return themDesired SettlementWe want our deposit of 925 dollars back as well as half of our rent for February which will be approximately 450 dollars since we sent a full payment of 925 dollars on the 1st of FebruaryBusiness Response Hello,The leases require a 60 day written notice so therefore a notice given on 1/14/14 would put the resident responsible for rent and utilities for 60 days from that date, which hasn't occured yet. Thank you!

Complaint[redacted] of Becklee RealEstate; Is the single worst RealEstate Property Manager I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with. In 2009, I contracted with [redacted](aka Becklee) of Becklee Realestate to manage my properties in the area of [redacted] and [redacted] North Carolina. I first put two properties under her management and then several months later placed two more under her management. In the beginning there were a few issues that caused concern. *ate rent payments, a considerable difficulty in contacting the property manager or the office in general. It seemed as those problems had been remedied with the hire of assistants. Specifically, [redacted] and [redacted] I think). With the hire of [redacted] about Sep of 2009, the problems went away, rents started showing up on time or near on time. I was able to contact [redacted] and [redacted] person when needed. The monthly statements started showing up. At this point Becklee Realestate was meeting my very easy expectations. *ess than a year passed, about Mar 2010, and [redacted] had moved on. I was sorry to see [redacted] leave and asked the reason. [redacted] was very cautious in answering. I spoke to another person in the office [redacted] who explained that there was a disagreement between the two [redacted] and [redacted]. After the departure of [redacted] I primarily spoke to [redacted] regarding all matters. Payments of rents began to lag behind again, [redacted] became more and more stressed about the matter but was unwilling to go into detail. A few months later [redacted] was no longer working at Becklee Realestate. It is at this point that rent receipts became consistently unpredictable. The monthly statements were only available when repairs were needed in that month. Contact otherwise was impossible. I suspect that my numbers were blocked or screened. I know this because I called from my cell phone, got no answer, called from a phone not associated with me and it was immediately answered. I then called back with my cell phone and got nothing. I tried this from several phones not associated with me and always got an answer. On one of the calls I identified myself to the attendant and was put on hold to speak with [redacted] She never picked up. I then tried to call back on that line and never got an answer again. But was consistently able to call in from other lines that were not associated with me. Currently, my attempts to contact [redacted] whether via email or phone have never succeeded. What has caused considerable distrust in the actions of [redacted]. [redacted] is the 1099 forms sent. It accounts for funds that were not received. Currently Becklee Realestate is more more than 8 months behind in rent receipts. I am unaware of the actual dollar amount because I don't get the monthly statements. I estimate in excess of $36,000. [redacted] is causing great stress on my family. It is impossible to pay the mortgages on the 4 properties and we may need to foreclose on all of them. This will intern cause considerable hardship on the tenants. And still her family life is a wonder on joy, with her pet monkey, and extended trips to far away places. Tell me if this sounds familiar... send the rent receipts later and later each month. Then, send a payment on time or a little early. *ooks like all is back on time. Nope, a full month payment was skipped. I did not realize this was happening. I just thought I was making errors on our income. This has happened in excess of 12 times over the last few years. That's more than $48,000 of skimming. I have repeatedly asked her via email and phone messages to bring the account up to date or I would take action. Nothing, she refuses to do anything to resolve this problem. I have also submitted a complaint similar to this, to the NC Real Estate Commission. [redacted]. [redacted] has no fear of being punished. She flouts the system that is there to protect the victims.Desired SettlementI want the rent receipts owed to my family, with interest. Further, this has caused considerable hardship for my family's financial well being and credit. Compensation for this hardship is also in order to say the least. The dollar amount of that compensation... I have to think hard about that.

Becklee has not deposited the rental funds in my bank by the end of Feb. I have not received expense report for 2013. Calls and emails not returned. After many calls and emails, Becklee has still not deposited the January rent in my bank account by the end of February. Also, after many calls and emails, I have not been provided a copy of the expenses for 2013. I have not been able to complete my taxes because of this.Desired SettlementI would like by rent proceeds to be deposited in a timely manner, by the end of each month.I would like a copy of the 2013 expenses.I would also like Becklee to be more responsive of my calls and emails.

They won't refund my apartment deposit to me [redacted] ([redacted]).I rented [redacted] (a townhouse) from Becklee for my 2 daughters, [redacted], to live in while attending [redacted]. We vacated the property on December 31, 2013 but still haven't received the deposit back. Someone from the Becklee office emailed that they'd sent a check to my old address and also to my new address but I've never received anything from them. Now, they say they'll send another check but it's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received anything from them.Desired SettlementI would like my entire deposit amount back - $925.00.Business Response We origially mailed this deposit to the previous [redacted] address on file. We have since mailed a new check to the [redacted] address and provided the client with a tracking number for the deposit.

Becklee Real Estate manages a rental property for me. I have not received numerous statements from last/this year nor almost $7000 in rental incomeBecklee Real Estate manages a rental property for me. I have not received the year end statement or statements from June,Sept,Oct,Nov,Dec 2013 and Jan, Feb 2014. I have am missing rental money collected from June 2011, July 2012, May,June,Sept-Dec 2013 and Jan-Feb this year. If I include March this year the total of unreceived rents that was paid to Becklee RE and not forwarded to me, the owner of the property is $6974. I have emailed many times over the past months to resolve this issue and placed phone calls. I had a few emails responded to months ago that she was trying to resolve but no return correspondence to email/phone calls in past month, plus. The last deposit I received was in January this year for rent received the middle of 2013. Desired SettlementTo file my taxes I need all monthly and year end statements for 2013. I am requesting all rent collected that is owed to me to be deposited immediately in my account to the total of $6974. I am considering that it may be fair that I am not charged the monthly management fee of $71 for the past 6 months as services have not been rendered as per our contract. This would increase the above number. I am concerned about the viability of this business as I note there have been several other complaints with your office this year. Due to this I may ask that I also receive the current renter security deposit and take over managing the lease of this property myself. This is yet to be decided. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Business Response I was not getting any emails notifiying me I had a complaint due to the fact they were going to SPAM. This issue has been resolved satisfactory with the client.
