Purchasing a home, I thought using the same Realtor that has the home listed would be beneficial to myself in order to limit the conversation back and forthUnfortunately Beckman as the Seller's Realtor did not represent me as the Buyer in an equal manner During process of making the offer until closing, I feel that my questions and requests were not made to the Seller properly through the AgentI since have communicated with the Seller and found out that most of the items I had issue with were not relayed I went through the process of obtaining an Inspection where many items were identified as "poor" status and I requested my Agent to address this with the SellerI had a concern with the condition of the roof and requested a second opinion from the AgentHe offered an acquaintance and said if I gave him a "Case of beer", then I could have that second opinionTo me, that's somewhat unethical The Agent told me to "be a nice guy and let this one slide." or "They won't accept that." also holding over my head that there was a 2nd offer on the tableSo my feeling was that my concerns were not being addressed Once we "settled" and signed the contract, the timeline came quickly I requested gutters cleaned and carpet stretchedThe Agent did not ensure these tasked were completed to my satisfaction until after I took possession of the home In conversation with the Seller, no guidance was given by the AgentI was told by the Agent that the Sellers were naive, but that should be HIS job to educate the Seller So, once we closed, the carpet was not done as well as the guttersI immediately called Beckman and they came to the homeCurtain rods were removed (were there during the walk through), garbage throughout the home, etcThey addressed the garbage that day, the carpet within the week, but didn't with the curtain rods nor the gutters(Again, they should have educated the Seller in my opinion)I had to go and make arrangements with the Seller on these issues because the Agent came back and complained not to me, but my wife, that he went "Above and Beyond" to take care of things After the whole process, and with communication with the Seller directly since I had zero faith in my agent, I come to find out that none of these issues were brought to his attention when I raised them to my AgentAlso found out he bartered with alcohol with his as well In hearing others opinions of the Realtor as well as the Agent with neighbors and others in the area, this just confirmed my negative experience as not a one-off I would not recommend this business as one that you would could count on to represent you in the home buying process
