[redacted] was amazing! We had two pines, one about 30 feet and a giant 40-50 foot one in between a wall with a subpanel, the pool and a lighted volleyball court and he dropped both trees without damaging anything. He was very professional and considerate of our landscape.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

After meeting with [redacted] at his home at the time of his free estimate he wanted pricing on both trimming and removal on his mesquite tree. Pricing for tree trimming was $250.00 & removal was 350.00 and stump grinding was as additional $100.00. [redacted] was at the time of the estimate in...

agreement of the following defects that constituted the tree removal, they were as follows; bad placement this tree was planted around 8’ from neighboring house & the trees branches were lying on the neighbors roof & into their yard, the tree was planted close to utility lines no more than 5’ from the trees root system such as telephone, electric, & water lines two of which appeared to run directly horizontal under the tree. I also pointed out how Resin soaked wood throughout the tree from improper pruning techniques such as flush cuts that will now no longer accept wood preservatives & in time infections will start at those locations, a large conk & opening on the trunk that will over time allow disease/pests/infection in the tree as well, the tree had two main codominant stems and a large stress crack in it already. [redacted] also commented on how he hated the branches on his vehicles every 6 months, and the mess that it constantly created on the ground. He stated that the removal price was a good deal/price. I received a call from [redacted] on the 24th telling me to go ahead and proceed with the removal on the 25th. I Stated I could be there at 11am, I was there at 11am. [redacted] said he would see me then, but never showed up until the work was 95% complete to tell me his wife was angry, upset & that she didn’t want the tree removed. I started work as scheduled after I knocked on the front door and rang the doorbell twice, so that I could have Mrs. [redacted] car moved from the front of the house. [redacted] said his wife didn’t want to answer because she was trying to paint a wall in the house. I am not sure why the door was not answered when there was a scheduled appointment time with someone providing a service for you. If [redacted] or his wife had any discrepancies in the work objectives they could have been resolved at that time. There was no doubt of what my objectives were when I arrived at the residence, I had a verbal agreement to remove the tree at 11am. At the time of payment I was told I would not be paid for the agreed upon work. I still completed the cleanup down to blowing off his family’s door step. For the matter of potential HOA violation’s I’m not convinced that removing a tree put’s you in any sort of violation, many of the neighbors the community have absolutely no trees in their front yards.

As for not responding quickly to this matter, this complaint is the first that I have received other than a voicemail from [redacted] stating that he would e-mail me his concerns which I have now received as of 5/1/2014. At this time I have been in contact with my attorney and the matter is in discussion at this time.

Thank you, [redacted]
