I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Here is my email to MsDee FentressI sent this just before replying hereMsFentress, I’ve never once faulted you for my siding that has been discontinuedWhat I do fault you for is the dishonestly and the lack of proper work that has been done on my sidingYour company informed *** *** back on August 31, that there was a matchWhat happened to that? My insurance company had stated then that if there was not a match then they would pay to have that side redoneI highly doubt that it was discontinued within a week time periodThe time period it took for the new siding to fall back down. You are correct in the fact that the builder of my home is no longer in business. You also keep stating that you have provided multiple options/solutions but the only option I recall being offered were the two siding samples(The one I agreed on that later came back being wrong size and the latest of what was already used that won’t stay up) With that being said I have located the match to my homeI’m not sure why you were unable to find it considering it is at a supplier where you have an accountI’ve also confirmed that it is the proper size, and I have the sample in my possession We have a few options.1. You refund the amount for siding in full $and I will not contact you again for issues regarding my siding or any other project except for my roof if it is to have problem as that is still under warranty. 2. I tell you where the matching siding is and you have it installed by next Friday (3/10) at no charge to meAs a customer I expected quality work to be done on my homeIt took multiple times of them coming out to even install the siding and even then it wasn’t correctIt fell down weeks later and then again 6-weeks after thatI currently have multiple nails driven into the face of the siding which after speaking with the supplier this morning is something that should never have been done.My preference is for you to refund the $I truly feel at this point that you have never had my best interest at heartI am certain that none of you would allow any of this to go on your homeI just want my home fixed properlyI have been more than patient and I do not feel as though I am being impossibleI have attached pictures of what my siding currently looks like with all of the nailsI hope you choose to make this situation rightThank you.** * *** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Two weeks ago, I spoke with Dee Fentress, of Fentress Builders regarding an alleged unpaid balance of $1,050. From my conversations with Josh (the Fentress estimator) and Mike (the Fentress project manager) I feel my balance due should have been correctly billed at $550. When Josh was at my house, he assured me that he had enough money in the project to "work with me on the deductible" and based on that projected savings of $500, I agreed to buy the Power Vent. Apparently Josh was not being honest about this transaction and when it came time to bill me, he convienently forgot about the verbal agreement we reached on my front porch. I understand I didn't get Josh's offer in writing. After several months of not receiving any correspondence from Fentress at all, a Dee Fentress contacted me demanding payment of $and threatened collection for that unpaid balance of $1050. I called MsFentress back to complain about her demanding payment without first invoicing me. She looked into it and stated that, no, I in fact owed her the $1050. At that time, I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and mailed her a check for the balance she said was due, $1050. I wrote that check from my personal account. I paid out of pocket $1050. The cancelled check is proof. Fentress said my insurance companies checks would cover the rest of the project, less the extra upgrades (power vent and dimensional shingles). Those upgrades were $550. At the time the estimator worked with the insurance adjuster to set up the project, I was told by the both the insurance company and Fentress that the insurance money would cover the project, except for the upgrades. So now, at the end of the day, I have paid my $deductible, I have paid the $upgrade charges, and I cosigned and forwarded both insurance checks directly to Fentress. Fentress has received all money expected. The insurance checks and my $1050. And now, they are asking for another $500. Absolutely not! I will never do business with Fentress again. I will forward this communication to my insurance agent to see if he can assist me, and if not, he needs to be aware what a headache the vendor recommended by his insurance company has caused me.

I have tried to communicate with the customer in regards to the discrepancy with the balance due. I spoke to the adjuster and they have agreed there was a mistake and will be sending Mr*** the balance due from the claim. This was an honest mistake but is now being taken care of

I spoke to the homeowner yesterday.  We have an appointment set for this Thursday to take a look at the floor issue.  This floor was installed back in 2009.  If we find we did something incorrect we will take care of the problem.

I am a bit confused by this complaint.  After further research it appears that Mr. [redacted] still owes 500.00.  I have attached a change order that Mr. [redacted] signed back in 2016 showing the breakdown as well as the invoice showing the breakdown and total payments received to...

date.  The total insurance claim was 8,802.34 with an upgrade of 150 for shingles and 400 for a power vent we installed which brought the total to 8,852.34.  It also clearly shows the 500.00 credit.  Mr. [redacted] was paid 8,302.34 from his insurance company so technically he only paid 50.00 out of pocket which he should have paid 550.00 out of pocket.  I have left  Mr. [redacted] a voicemail as well as an email with no response but I'm hoping he responds so I can explain and hopefully get this resolved.  Please contact me with further questions at 317-541-3600.  Thank you Amber C[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Ms. [redacted],
I was given your contact information by Revdex.com because our case is assigned to you. I understand that the response time ran out on case #[redacted]. I was speaking to the owner of Fentress Builders at the time to possibly resolve our issue, but we have not been able to come to an agreement, so I'd like to keep this case open. I apologize for not having responded in a timely manner. My husband and I would appreciate any assistance that Revdex.com can provide.
Please see my response Mike's statement below:
Mike,
We appreciate your taking the time to reply to our complaint. I feel that your reply is a personal attack rather than a defense of your contractors' work. It is certainly unfortunate that our expectations of this project are so different. You indicated that you reviewed the work at this address. My husband and I would have loved to meet with you at the home to point out to you some of the problems that we believe had been
overlooked. Repairs to the initial work have been ongoing. Clearly, the work that you describe as "more than acceptable" was viewed as poor by your own project managers who agreed that corrections and repairs needed to be made.
Additionally, you indicate in your statement that you would be happy to correct any problem, yet by the same token, you are angered by our diligence to ensure that work on our home is properly completed. My husband never once spoke of monetary compensation; he only requested that the problems that he observed be
corrected. My husband is not a professional, so if he notices issues, I would expect you and Fentress project managers to either not allow such poor work to be performed or to make the fixes without relying on us to inform you of the necessary corrections. Once the timeline, was overdue and the quality of work continued to drop, we began to make note of problems with pictures and emails rather than purely phone calls. You are welcome to review this information with the project managers assigned to this project in order to view the items that may have been overlooked when you reviewed the work last year. We are also happy to provide these images and exchanges to show that the work Fentress contractors performed was most clearly less that "acceptable." It is also worth mentioning that while some of the complaints have been our own, but the home inspection completed by the home's buyers have brought additional issues to light such as...
I insisted that we use a contracting company to repair our home so that a professional could oversee the work and ensure that it was completed correctly.  Instead, it was husband who had to take on this responsibility.  This is the first reason as to why I feel that we did not receive the services for which we are paying.

We signed the contract on February 14th, 2014. Exactly 11 months later, we are still unable to sign off on the work has been completed according to the insurance scope.; this is a work that was supposed to be completed in May/June of last year. This is the reason as to why I do not feel that we owe full payment for your services. Between May/June and today, we have been maintaining a house that should have been put on the market. We had to continue to pay for insurance, utilities, etc.; we had to make frequent visits to the home to review the work and perform lawn work, clean the interior, etc.
I believe that my husband and I were actually very patient. It is only after we dropped off your radar several times, and after work was continuously prolonged, and after daily stops by the house after work became routine, and after it was impossible to get a hold of someone to explain the situation that I felt that we should take additional action outside of Fentress.

 Regards,[redacted]

We have been in communication with this customer and have resolved the situation to the customer's satisfaction.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed...

the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I just saw that my complaint was closed without being resolved.  Complaint# [redacted].   I have been working 6 days and a lot of hours and have not been able to respond.  Since nothing has been done yet I did not think a response was needed.  Below are the steps that have been taken without any resolution. ·         On June 8 I received a call from Fentress·         On June 11 we were stood up by their sub-contractor in the morning after waiting around all dayo   When we called later in the day we were able to get him to come out at 5:30pm (He said he had some people not show up for work, that is why nobody came out in the AM.  (Why did they not call us?)o   When the sub-contractor arrived he verified the old flooring was never removed and verified that our contract was to have the old removed and disposed of, and new flooring put down (This part of the contract was not fulfilled)·         On June 17 the sub-contractor called and offered me $49 and stated that is what it would cost to remove the flooring.  I let him know that this was unacceptable and I want the old flooring removed and new put down.  I also inquired if this was how they conducted business and if this was to code.  I let him now this would not satisfy me.·         As of today I have not heard from Fentress since June 8 and have not heard from their sub-contractor since June 17. Can this complaint be reopened or do I need to submit it again?   Sincerely,[redacted]

unfortunately there are times when you are dealing with a siding repair that a complete match can not be found due to your siding being discontinued. After a long period of time manufactures no long make the exact product, ie color and wood grain. We have completely exhausted all vendors and...

manufacturers of siding. We have offered multiple different options and solutions to Mrs. [redacted] but unfortunately we have not been able to meet her standards. We have worked directly with her insurance and have explained to her multiple times what can, and what can not be done. At this point there is nothing more we can do to make this match happen besides residing that elevation of her home. We made that offer to her and explained that the Insurance would not pay for that since it is not owed to her through her policy. When we explained that the funds for this would have to be out of her pocket and that the new elevation of siding would not exactly match the rest of her home that solution was not acceptable to her. We have exhausted all solutions and possibility's to this point and Dont feel that any money is due back.

I guess the best place for me to start would be the numbers. These customers stated that the total cost of the estimate should be 26k and that our bill was for 27k, which was a total difference of about 800.00 but there complaint resolution amount was for 10,000.00. This is how this entire...

project went. These people are all about money and us paying them to do the job. I myself went out to this project to do the scope of work because everyone I put out on this project did not want to work for this customer. They were complaining and pointing out issues before we even had the opportunity to do the work that was on the insurance scope. Obviously when you do a project, things don't always go perfect, but every single issue that they had was fixed or taken care of. When I was out there walking through the house I thought the work was more than acceptable. I couldn't find one issue that wasn't done to my satisfaction. As soon as I got there the only thing that I heard was how much money can you cut us back? We have spent so much time missing work. It's all just simply not the truth. I'm sorry we cannot do your job for free. I'm also sorry that we can discount our project 10,000 because our margins are only about 7-10% on Insurance work. You are fully warrantied and we will be more than happy to fix any unresolved issues you might have, but in your own words you told me that everything was completed and finished. I truly believe from the very beginning of this project their intentions were to complain, complain and complain so that they could try and pocket the insurance money. I saw this work and as a carpenter myself was very satisfied with all of the work that was done on the project. Sure we run into issues and occasionally we have to redo some work, but this is all part of construction and if we have to redo something, we are more than happy to do so, but it doesn't mean because you feel we made some mistakes that we should just hand you over 10,000.00 because you feel that's just cause. We stand behind our work 100% and that's why we have been in business since 1967. We take great pride in our staff and our work and our excellent level of customer service. I am willing myself to walk this project again with the husband and the wife and there choice of another general contractor, and they can point out any issues they feel are not correct, complete or just not done properly. I am not willing to discount this project at all but I am willing to spend my personal time, dedication and expertise and money correcting any issues that would be considered unresolved or unsatisfactory. Thank you and have a great day! [redacted] Cell 317-727-[redacted]
