Business refuses to provide refund for item not yet received. Does not inform of policy at purchase.
On Saturday August 25th at around 2:30pm I went to the Bedroom Depot on Walker Road in Windsor Ontario. I purchased a mattress that was in stock, and was supposed to be delivered later this week. I returned to the store less than 24 hours later and spoke to the same sales person on Sunday morning. I informed him that I had found a mattress I preferred at another store and I would like to cancel my order. He informed me that all sales were final. I explained to him that I understood why they would have this policy with mattresses, but in my case I never took possession of the product. I was not trying to return a product, but simply cancel an order that was yet to even be fulfilled. He explained to me it was store policy to never refund money. I found this to be very unreasonable, considering I was never informed of this at the time of purchase and there was absolutely no visible signs in the store stating this. He then pointed to where it stated that on my receipt. A receipt I was provided after payment. So it would have made no difference. I am left feeling taken advantage of, and I am being told I have to take the mattress I ordered or purchase something else in their store. I believe this to be a very unfair business practice. ***. I believe there is a difference between refunding/exchanging an item that leaves the store, and simply choosing not to buy something within 24 hours, that is still in the stores possession. This was not a special order. In no way is the store inconvenienced, or at a financial disadvantage.

We purchased a bed for my daughter from them in the fall of 2014. They were competitive and we felt we received excellent value. Recently, we had an issue with this bed. It took one email to get it resolved. We did not have to chase anyone down. As a result, I would highly recommend this business based on value, competitive pricing and excellent customer service.
