Bee Line Transport, Inc. has agreements throughout the [redacted], [redacted] area with management properties to monitor their parking lots.  One such agreement is with [redacted] Properties for their property, [redacted].On Monday, October 26, 2015 at 7:42am, Bee Line Transport, Inc. was called...

by an individual tenant (as allowed by the agreement) to impound a 1998 Toyota Camry, (**) [redacted] which had been parked in Visitor Parking for 3 weeks.  Per the agreement, vehicles can be impounded after being in Visitor Parking for more than 24 hours. As regulated by the Commonwealth of Virginia code 46.2-1233.1, the impound was $135.00 and reported to the locality police.  In accordance with the same code, storage was charged at $55.00 per day after the first 24 hours.  Once a vehicle has been at Bee Line Transport, Inc. for a period of 4 days, records are pulled from the [redacted] Department of Motor Vehicles to find out who the registered owners are as well as if there is any lien on the vehicle.  Once this information is obtained, the registered owners and any lien holder are notified by Certified Mail.  In this instance, there was no record.  Bee Line was unable to notify the registered owner and any lien holder.  The Administrative fee for this process is $175.00.On the afternoon of Tuesday, November 3, 2015 a series of calls placed by Mr. [redacted] to Bee Line Transport, Inc. were received and had to be disconnected due to the extreme foul language and threats made to the two office personnel who answered his phone calls.  While we do strive to answer all questions in a professional manner; we could no longer speak to Mr. [redacted].The following morning, Wednesday, November, 4, 2015, Mr. [redacted] paid for and picked up his vehicle at 8:38am.Best Regards,[redacted]PresidentBee Line Transport, Inc.

Hello,We are in receipt of email regarding Case #[redacted].  [redacted] Police Department contacted Bee Line Transport, Inc. on the morning of May 18, 2015 to respond to the [redacted] parking lot at [redacted] ([redacted]) for an illegally parked vehicle.  Upon arrival, an...

officer with [redacted] Police Department advised our driver of which vehicle was in violation and requested it to be impounded. Our driver loaded the vehicle, a 2011 Mini Cooper, (VA) [redacted], VIN: [redacted] and transported it to our secure storage facility at [redacted], [redacted].  At 12:26pm, May 18, 2015, [redacted] came to our office and paid the impound fee and retrieved her vehicle. This was not a tow, but an impound.  We did not have a key.  In this situation, we must use special equipment to ensure no damage is done to the vehicle.  In Virginia, impound rates are set by the state.  A daytime, weekday impound is up to $135.00.  As this impound was at [redacted], we charge only $90.00.A refund will not be issued. Please let us know if you have any questions.Best Regards,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
There are a couple of LIES with the statement. First the vehicle may have been seen there for three weeks on and Off, occasionally,  or maybe everyday because my sons girlfriend lived there but it certainly was not abandoned as they suggest. The tag and insurance are current and registered in [redacted]. Seems to me  $175 is way excessive to run a tag number and to say it didn't turn up anything is an outright lie. These people are well known for this scam in this town of college kids to generate revenue. (Read their business reviews online) There was not a " No Parking" sign anywhere in the area nor was it parked in space 38 of another resident as they claim which is another lie. I will consider a partial refund of the rediculous charges of which I was NEVER notified or consented to or we can go through the court system and I will request a full investigation in Beelines business practices and fees. I will do whatever it takes to expose this scam, these crooked business practices and excessive fees. This is no different than thieves stealing money from these kids except in my case, Beeline had no reason to tow this car other than stalking and assumptions the car was abandoned. If the complex didn't allow visitors, it should be as so posted.
Regards,
[redacted]

As we were contacted by State Police, we are required to take action at their request.  We do not patrol the roads looking for vehicles to pickup.  No monies will be refunded.Best Regards,Kevin JonesBee Line Transport, Inc.

Hello,I haven’t responded because my email has been down and this message is the first one I have received stating that the owner would fix the Jack on the trailer.  I would appreciate that very much if the offer still stands.  I feel this would fix some of the issue I had with the company although I still have a dent in my fender.Thank You,[redacted]

Your vehicle was towed by the Lynchburg Police Department because it was involved in an accident and had to be removed from the roadway. They can not wait on a company from [redacted] to tow the vehicle due to the road hazard the accident caused. If you had collision insurance on your vehicle, they...

would have covered all accident charges and storage fees. Also, you always have the option to contact any local towing company in the area of your choice. The accident rates are standard rates and are similar to all other companies in Central Virginia. Insurance companies pay the fees on a daily basis and never have any issues. Our company does not take advantage of citizens in the area but we do charge standard rates and if you do not have insurance, it is the vehicle owner's responsibility. We apologize for any inconveniences that were caused by the accident, but we have to be paid for services rendered and can not change our standard rates based on whether or not a vehicle owner has collision insurance.

Review: THIS COMPANY NOT ONLY CHARGED ME $650.00 FOR TOWING MY UTILITY TRAILER BUT DID DAMAGES TO MY TRAILER AND WHEN CONFRONTED ABOUT IT I WAS TOLD THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. I HAD A FLAT TIRE ON A SATURDAY EVENING, I PULLED THE TRAILER OVER AS FAR AS I COULD OFF THE ROAD. I COULD NOT GET THE TIRE FIXED UNTIL MONDAY MORNING AND WHEN I WENT BACK FOR IT THEY HAD TOWED IT. THAT WAS A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT FIRST OF ALL AND SECOND THERE ARE NOTICEABLE DAMAGES. THEY BROKE MY JACK STAND, BENT MY FENDER WELL AND SOME MORE.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE THEM TO REFUND SOME IF NOT ALL OF MY MONEY SO I CAN FIX THE DAMAGES DONE BY THEIR COMPANY TO MY TRAILER IN WHICH I HAVE NOT EVEN MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT ON TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I JUST GOT THIS TRAILER ABOUT A WEEK AGO.

Response:

Bee Line Transport, Inc. was contacted by State Police on Saturday, March 26th at 6:50pm to impound (which is different than a tow) a Trailer loaded with wood that was partially in the road.Upon arrival, the trailer was loaded and moved to our secure lot at [redacted] The State of Virginia does regulate private property impounds, however, this was not a private property impound. The rate was set by the amount of work that had to be done to retrieve the trailer and transport to our lot. The storage rate is standard for any trailer stored at our property.A refund will not be issued.Best Regards,Kevin Jones

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have been driving heavy duty trucks and trailers for more than 18 years and in my experience with my fair share of break downs, I know to get the tires off the road. The trailer was not in the road because I made sure the tires were in the grass. I broke down on Saturday and could not find any where to fix the tire to the trailer until Monday morning, I was not even given the opportunity to get my property. My trailer should have been tagged and I would have had 24 to 48 hours to at least notify someone of the issue or perhaps I could have gotten the wood off myself and had the trailer towed at my leisure. This company not only towed my property but damaged it. I didn't say I needed a full refund but if they could atleast step up to the plate and fix what their company broke it would be greatly appreciated.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I understand you have a job to do but my complaint was that you damaged my property. You should take responsibilty and fix what you broke. So I hope in the future when someone uses your company to tow their vehicle that they know when you damage property you will not fix it. It's bad for business. You can see my jack stand in the picture I have pictures of when I picked it up and my jack stand was not with the trailer as well as my fender was bent. If we cannot resolve the issue this way I will proceed to speak with an attorney, it would be worth the money to see what the courts would have to say about it.

Response:

Owner called and said he offered to fix the jack even though it is not required. They are not responsible for the damage. The State Trooper said it had to be towed and they towed. No refund will be given.

Review: Beeline towing towed my vehicle after I had an accident. I instructed them to tow it to an individual that would work on my vehicle. When I got to the individual that was supposed to work on my vehicle the vehicle was not there..Beeline towing later told me that a male person who was not myself told them to tow it to beeline towings lot. I did not give them authorization to tow it to there lot. I received no citation for my accident. However beeline towing has racked up charges totaling over 1100.00 for towing and storing my vehicle. Now they are saying that they are putting a lien on my vehicle and will sell it to get their money. My vehicle is not in that bad of shape however with the umpteen amount of money that they are asking for..I am losing my vehicle..Again I asked them to tow it to someone that was willing to fix it..however when I got to that individual within a matter of minutes..the vehicle was not there..Again I did not authorize beeline to tow it to their facility.Desired Settlement: I would like for beeline to reduce the rate do their negligence of getting my authorization to town to there facility.I feel as tho although my vehicle which could and can still be repaired should somehow be reimbursed to me. Had I known that this company would become negligent in there professionalism. I would have never used them as a towing company.

Response:

On Monday, August 8th at 3:11pm, Bee Line Transport, Inc. was called to respond to a motor vehicle accident at [redacted]. We arrived on scene and the vehicle to be towed was a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder in which the owner wanted towed to [redacted] in [redacted]. Bee Line's driver towed the vehicle to that location and the vehicle owner was not present. Our driver asked the owner of [redacted] if he was going to pay for the accident tow and he stated that "He was not responsible for the charges and the owner would have to pay." The owner called Bee Line asking about the vehicle and she was told what the owner of [redacted] had stated. She also said that she would meet our driver back at [redacted] to pay the accident tow bill. Once our driver was back at [redacted], nine miles from our location, the owner called back to Bee Line and stated that she did not have the amount to cover the tow in which she was told the vehicle would be towed back to our storage lot. A man did call about the vehicle but it was NOT under his authorization that the vehicle was towed back to Bee Line. It was under the authorization of Bee Line once the owner said she would not be paying for the accident tow charges. The vehicle was already on Bee Line's storage lot, secured, when the man called with questions about the vehicle. The current invoice consists of flat rate, accident tow and storage charges. All charges are covered daily by insurance companies but any time there is a vehicle owner with only liability insurance, they are responsible for the accident tow charges. If the owner would have paid $369.50 the day of the accident, no further charges would have been applied and her vehicle would have been towed and dropped off at [redacted]. Therefore, the vehicle will remain at our facility until the 30th day (DMV mandates the time frame) in which we will apply for the title of the vehicle. The vehicle will then be sold and the balance that remains after sale, will be turned over to a collections agency.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer. I am displeased with the offer because bee-line never re-towed the truck back to the facility that I wanted to repair my vehicle. I was not the individual that told bee-line to take it to there storage lot. I understand about the debt. However had they re-towed it back to where I asked them to tow it. I could have satisfied the initial debt.

Review: On Friday January 29th around 11pm I contacted Bee Line Transport inc to do a tow. I had a customer that was wanting the vehicle towed as a voluntary repossession. I had talked to the dispatch and they said they could have a driver there in 20 minutes. While waiting for the tow truck to arrive the owners boyfriend had jumped in and took the vehicle. The tow truck driver had called me and I explained the issue so he stated he would stay there and wait for the vehicle to return. Within 30 minutes the driver returned and the tow truck driver notified me of getting the vehicle and he would take it back to his lot. The dispatch had advised me that they could not tow it to the desired location that night in [redacted] from [redacted] which is about a hour drive. I anticipated either calling or being called by the company on saturday or sunday since the dispatch said they would "get a price for delivering" the vehicle to my location. I did not hear from the company saturday, sunday, or monday. Granted I wasnt worried over the vehicles well being since they orginally seemed legit good people, and it was the weekend and I figured like myself they were busy and would get to me since I told them it wasnt a rush to get it delivered. So Tues Feb, 2 I called and got in touch with [redacted] who seemed confused at first of the situation about the delivery. After talking I realized that my best bet was to have MY OWN TOW TRUCK drive up there to pick up the vehicle. So I asked what the total for the tow was anticipating probably 1000-200 bucks since it was a late night call. To my surprise it was almost $600. I asked why once I could talk again. I was told storage fees, admin fees, and towing fee. I was blown away. I had requested the tow, I had requested it towed to my business. Why would I be charged storage and admin fees when I originally requested it to be towed to my location. After getting no were with the converstation and [redacted] informing me that the "dispatch" shouldn't have told me the things they did and that they weren't informed of me waiting for the vehicle. She said they would check the recording of the conversation I had with dispatch. (they dont dispatch their own trucks for some reason) It is now thurday ore storage and yet still waiting for a call from dispatch to confirm what I have said. storage bill accruing at 55 per day. I dont mind paying for the tow that I requested. I have a issue when they are now holding my vehicle hostage at ransom rates because they couldnt deliver the vehicle that night. I have asked to speak with the owner and have been told that they are checking on things. Why am I still waiting is it because they want to extort more storage fees. Seems like they are just trying to rob money from me.Desired Settlement: simple I would like to pay for what was requested. Since they couldnt deliver that vehicle per request that night I think its silly to charge me more for storage and fees then the tow and delivery would have cost.

We followed all proper procedures and laws with this accident/impound.On August 25, 2013 at 11:20am Bee Line was called by Lynchburg 911 for a police tow for an accident at [redacted] Our driver responded to find a Honda Icon motorcycle, wrecked. We were instructed to impound the motorcycle back to our secure lot.The owner, [redacted] came to our office several weeks later wanting to retrieve the motorcycle. Upon hearing the fees associated, he attempted to negotiate the fees and advised that he was too busy with school and being in the hospital from the accident to have come earlier.[redacted] (father) attempted to dispute the fees as well, however they are set and the owner and his father refused to pay those fees. Please let us know if you have any questions.-- Best Regards, [redacted]Bee Line Transport, Inc.

Review: BEE LINE TRANSPORT TOWED MY DAUGHTER'S CAR FROM HER APARTMENT AT 3AM WITHOUT WARNING. HER STATE TAG STICKERS (WHICH WERE IN HER GLOVE COMPARTMENT) WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON JULY 31 BUT SHE HAD FORGOTTEN. I HAD TO DRIVE TO LYNCHBURG AND PAY 220.00 TO GET HER CAR. IT SEEMED A DIRTY TRICK TO ME. IF THEY HAD JUST SAID SOMETHING SHE COULD HAVE PUT THE STICKERS ON WITHOUT PROBLEM.Desired Settlement: PLEASE MAKE TENANTS AWARE OF THIS POSSIBILITY BEFORE THEY SIGN A LEASE. THANK YOU.

Bee Line Transport, Inc. monitors and enforces violations at the request of the management company of apartment/townhome communities. Bee Line Transport, Inc. does not set these rules, the management company of the community in which the person lives does. Bee Line Transport, Inc's. rates are set and regulated by the State of Virginia. Our suggestion is for her to address this issue with her management company as they set the rules at her community.

They towed my daughters car at 3Am. Common courtesy would have been a fair warning. Also, $200.00 was an excessive amount.

Review: On 10/26/2015 Beeline towing illegally towed my 1998 Toyota Camry from my sons girlfriends apartment complex where she was a resident at the time. The car was parked in a VISITOR parking spot. They were out of town a few days and when they returned he realized the car had been towed. He finally located the car at Beeline towing. The car is registered in my name but no one was ever notified of the towing,we thought it had been stolen at first. The management at Beeline towing was very hateful and would not release the name of the party who called for the tow without a subpoena from the court. That is a college town and that business is notorious for just picking up cars mostly from college kids. If the illegal towing wasn't bad enough, they kept adding fees and storage until the bill was $750. I need to know if you can help me get some money back or do I need to get an attorney and file suit, which I will if necessary. This happens very frequently My son is told by many of the college kids. Please help. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Refund or reduced fees. Someone needs to verify if this business is not overcharging

Review: Bee Line towed my daughters car that was parked in a reserve paring space - I have no problem with that; that's the comapany's policy that they work for; but to charge $90 for a $50 tow is unethical- towed the car ~ 3-5 milesDesired Settlement: I would like a $40 refund.
