The customer claims we installed the wrong filter. The correct filter was installed and I will provide all data to substantiate it. The filter we installed was a new superseded filter #2500, which replaces the old filter #4651.It is a common well known fact that all manufacturers have changes
in product and have new part numbers that supersede the old ones.We called the filter company, Service Pro, and their product hot line to be 100% sure of its use. They reassured us that it was the correct filter (2500) and that the old filter (4651) is no longer in their product line. The new filter (2500) has been in use for four (4) years with zero (0) faults. Service Pro stands behind us and their product 100%.I personally relayed the company's toll free product hot line number (1-800-225-2837) to the customer to assist them and to assure them that we are completely up front in this matter. Service Pro can provide all necessary product part numbers, manufacturer specs, and test data. We, Bee Quick Lube, have been in business for years changing oil, and have seen plenty of part number changes. We have installed this new filter (2500) on 100s of vehicles with zero problems, and will continue to do so in the future. Some facts about the twelve (12) year old vehicle not mentioned is that it has over 310,miles which plays a giant factor in this scenario.I informed the customer if they choose to proceed with this further they will ultimately be dealing with the filter corporation which stands behind us and their product line. All procedures were performed correctly. Sincerely, Bernard Seger

We took our Ford Explorer Sport Trac for an oil change on 12-17-and this company installed the
wrong oil filterNow the truck needs to be rebuilt, and we just rebuilt the engine in August Drove the truck for about miles with no problems at allHad the oil change done, drove the truck for miles and lost all oil pressureThe truck has no oil leaks and is still full of oilthere is metal shavings and plastic tensioners in the bottom of the oil panThe owner is telling me they installed the correct filter, but I have talked to an employee at this business and he tells me a different part number than what was installed*** *** Ford tells me they did install the wrong filterAll I know is the truck was running great after we rebuilt it, had no problems until the oil change was doneThey are telling me it is the oil pump, if that was the case it should have caused a problem during the first miles we drove the truck
Thank you for your time

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Regardless of the vehicle has 310 thousand miles on it, we had just rebuilt that truck! We drove almost 5000 miles on the rebuilt engine with no trouble at all. Granted they have been in business for 19 years..I have heard of several complaints but evidently no one files a complaint.  Yes, we have contaected the Service Pro company and have sent the oil filter to them. I have talked to 3 different repair facilities,  one being a certified  Ford company.  We were informed the "smaller" filter that was installed restricted the flow of oil and being the higher mileage vehicle it is it should have been the higher flow filter. The #2500 they installed goes to the Ford explorer. .NOT  the explorer sport Trac TRUCK with aluminum heads. Servuce pro also ststed the #4651 filter IS still available...that is the filter that should have been used. ..or the original Fram PH2. I believe we should have been informed and should have had the choice of filters. We were told nothing.  [redacted] attitude to me the day I called was very unprofessional when I told him the age if our truck stating a 12 year old truck was the problem. Excuse me!! But that has nothing to do with the performance of y his truck. As I stated we had just put over 3000.00 dollars to REBUILD the motor.  I am not satisfied with the results of this so far. I believe there should be some responsibility on his part..his business is not as perfect as he thinks.
