When paying for the grooming, I just mentioned the difference in prices from what I was paying in FloridaI did not say that I couldn't afford
having my dog groomed. He should not put words in my mouthI did not say I wasn't sure what happened and that I doubted it happened by the grooming. It did happen there. The groomer did cut her nail too short but the membrane was intact. After my dog put pressure on her paws walking across the parking lot the membrane erupted and began bleeding in the car. I did not notice the bleeding until she was back in the house. It was not hours later. It was almost immediately after leaving the shop. After reviewing the footage of the video surveillance DVR tapes of the exact time that the events supposedly happened, I can prove that [redacted] herself is mistaken. The owner of Electronic Eyes, a local security surveillance company located in Middletown, has secured the video tape of the exact times including [redacted]'s initial entry to my store, the whole grooming time, the harness attachment, payment, and exiting of the store and her visit the next afternoon.  Clearly, this evidence speaks for itself.  Hence, [redacted] lacks any credible evidence that the dog's nail bleed happened as a result of something that happened in my store.  She cannot legally say this unless she has definite proof.  In addition to the tapes, I have witnesses that were here in the store when [redacted] was here and they are willing to provide statements that are in opposition to what she claims.   Furthermore, I contacted local Veterinarians to inquire about dog nail bleeding.  They all claimed that her claim of "PROFUSE" (a direct quote from [redacted]), lasting 12 hours was impossible in this situation and if the dog bleed profusely for that long it would be dead.  I am forwarding a Professional Journal article from Washington State University - College of Veterinary Medicine, that reports that a dog nail which has been trimmed too short " EVEN WITHOUT ANY TREATMENT THE NAIL SHOULD STOP BLEEDING IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES OR LESS."   And, according to several Veterinarians who encounter many such hysterical complaints about the treatment of their dogs, state the because [redacted] neglected to bring her dog, which was bleeding profusely over such a long period of time, to a Vet for treatment she cannot legally claim who or what was the cause of her dog's injury.  She is just assuming.  Furthermore, her definite accusation without any medical proof of the cause of her dog's injury leaves her in a position of falsely accusing me in writing, which will have it's own consequences legally.  I think that by supplying all of the above mentioned documentation, including, Medical, professional, and recorded tapes, will result in showing the true picture and hope that [redacted] offers me an apology for falsely slandering myself and my business. ?

[redacted] had her dog groomed in my store on 06/**/2014. After discussing the price for the grooming, she repeatedly complained that the prices here in New York were double what she was used to paying in the State of Florida. She also stated that she really couldn't afford to have her dog...

groomed very often at the New York prices. [redacted] asked the groomer not to cut the dog's eyelashes. The dog's nails were trimmed at the very beginning of the grooming session. That is standard procedure in my shop. After the entire groom, [redacted]'s was called to pick up her dog and her dog was placed in a crate which had a white fleece mat on the floor of the crate. The dog remained in that crate for about twenty five minutes. When [redacted] arrived, I picked up her dog and carried her dog in my arms to the front of the store and handed the dog over to [redacted] into her arms. Then, the dog was placed on the floor and we were trying to attach the dog's harness. This took a few minutes since it was altered in such a way that it was difficult to figure out how to secure the harness securely. The dog was standing on light colored linoleum while the owners were adjusting the dog's harness for several minutes. Since [redacted]'s dog is very small, she was not more that 8 inches from the floor while she was trying to attach and secure the harness. At no point during this whole process, including filling out required paperwork, chatting and paying the bill, was there any blood on the floor, our clothes, in the crate, etc. She said she was very happy with the grooming.
The following day in the afternoon, [redacted] called me on the phone, started screaming that her dog's eyelashes were cut and that she was very upset about that. Initially that was her only complaint. She stated that she wanted her money back for not listening to her directive about the eyelashes. When I explained the difference between a dog's eyelashes and a dog's bangs she said that they are the same thing and that I should have known what she meant. The groomer never cut her dog's eyelashes and he gave her dog a standard trim which includes a little trim of the bangs. Again she asked for a refund, and I when I told her that we had done what she had asked and she was not entitled to a refund, she told me that she was going to report me to the Revdex.com. Then, after not getting any satisfaction from me regarding the eyelash issue, she then claimed that some 5 hours after the dogs nails were trimmed, she noticed that her dogs nails started to bleed p rofusely and continued to bleed for many hours thereafter and into the night. I asked her if she thought it was done by the groomer then why didn't she call me at the store - I was here until 7 pm. She claimed she wasn't sure how it happened. Being that so many hours had passed since the dogs nails were trimmed, she doubted that it happened by the grooming. She stated that her dog could have injured itself in the car or at home or in the street. That is why she didn't call me immediately or contact me sooner. However, the following afternoon, she phoned me to now ask for compensation and a refund for the grooming. It has been my experience and the opinion of most veterinarians and groomers, that if a nail is indeed clipped too short on a dog it would start to bleed immediately and that the bleeding stops within 5 to 10 minutes. Also - bleeding profusely? A close nail trim cut spots a small amount of blood and never profusely! Even if it left untrea ted it usually clots by itself and stops bleeding within a very short time. Based upon [redacted]'s original statement that she didn't know how her dog's injury happened and upon her claim for a refund for the eyelashes, I do not feel that a refund is warranted

Review: I took my dog to Bee Well Pets for a grooming. It was the first time I have used this groomer. I picked her up after 3-1/2 hours. At home we realized that she was bleeding profusely. It turned out that the groomer had clipped one of her toe nails too short and that is where the blood was coming from. We had guests at our home and they helped us pack the nail with gauze and tape to try to stop the bleeding. It continued throughout that day and into the night.Today she is okay and the bleeding has stopped.I called the owner today to let him know what had happened. He was sorry and asked if I wanted my money returned. I told him yes. He told me to bring my dog in and he would look at the wound to be sure it was alright. That was a ruse! Although there was still some dried blood on the tip of that nail, he said if her nail had been clipped too short, there would be blood everywhere in his shop. I wanted to show him the dried blood from yesterday in my car but he didn't want to see it.He refused to return my money and told me that he had nothing more to say to me.Desired Settlement: Because the actions of the owner and groomer endangered the life of my dog I think I am entitled to have the $60 I paid to them returned to me.
