the customer stated:YOUR COMPANY CHARGED MY ACCOUNT WHEN THIS WAS CLEARLY SUPPOSED TO BE A FREE TRIAL. REFUND MY CARD OR I WILL CALL MY BANK AND SAY THAT THIS WAS A FRAUDULENT CHARGE. AFTER I HAVE BEEN REFUNDED YOU CAN CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT AS I DO NOT WANT TO USE YOUR SERVICES.our response to the above email was as follows:[redacted] M [redacted]Re: [A8DAEBB7697A]Acti veTi ck LLC - Your messageHi [redacted],Thanks for getting in touch with us.our system did not charge your credit card. During sign up process, we verify credit card val idity by requesting an authorization from the bank, and then voi ding it.Thi s does not result in any charges at your bank.If you keep your account open after 30 days, your credit card will be charged. To avoi d thi s, you can cancel your account before the trial is up.If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.Kind Regards, [redacted] MAfter this communication, we have not had any other communications, until 11/21/2015. our billing system sends a cancellation notification email any time a customer cancels account on our website. The customer canceled his/her account on 11/21/2015, and right away replied to our automated message, demanding refund for the two months of software use, stating:I NEED TO BE REFUNDED FOR PAYMENTS THAT WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE MADE ON 10/21 AND 11/21.on Sat, Nov 21, 2015 at 11:07 AM, Acti veTick Support <support@acti vetick.com> wrote: Hi [redacted] Canterbury,we are sorry that you have deci ded to cancel your Acti veTi ck subscription. We have enjoyed having you as our valued customer, and hope that you come back to us in the future for your market data needs.our system will no longer bill your credit card as of this moment.Page 1Per our policy, we do not provide any refunds for past months' usage of our product. The customer was fully aware that he/she needed to cancel the account before the trial was over. Furthermore, every month when our billing system charged customer's card, it sent out a notification with the following email:Hi first name, last name,We have successfully received payment of xx.xx for your monthly ActiveTick subscription. We thank you for being our valued customer.ActiveTick Support TeamWe do not feel that ActiveTick LLC in any way misrepresented any information to the customer, or has done anything wrong. We would like to keep the customer satisfied however, and have issued a credit back to his/her credit card for the disputed amount of $40.20.
