As per our phone conversation this is the Beemer Club's response to the customer's original responseThe customer always has a choice to repair or not, nothing is forced ever.This customer was told all of his options as per State law concerning the cost of repairs that would allow his car to pass smog serviceHe was told his Catalytic Converter needed to be replaced as well as two vaccume hoses that were leaking and that they needed to be replaced/repairedThe customer chose to only replace the Catalytic ConverterThe car did not pass smog because of this.The customer was then told that he could apply for a waiver from the State for two years because he had met the $limit for repairs, and he was provided with that informationAgain,the customer chose NOT to repair the vaccume leaks, which is why the car did not pass smog.The Beemer Club has retained the Catalytic Converter and will hold it for two years.Included in this email are photos of said Converter.The Beemer Club has built its business on our reputationWe are offeded and want recourse if possibleThank you for your assistance in the matter ***Please feel free to call or email concerning this issueWe look forward to resolution.Sincerely,*** ***University Ave.San Diego, Ca 92104619-299-6540www.beemerclub.com

To Whom It May Concern:I received a letter of complaint September 11th 2015. The complaint ID [redacted] concerning customer [redacted].On Feb. 27th 2015 Ramirez entered the shop with a [redacted] with 167,809 miles on the car.  The car's check engine light was on and there was a rattle in the...

catalytic converter. He was given a written estimate of needed repairs, which include a Catalytic Converter, Air leek repairs etc. These repairs were needed for his [redacted] to pass the State's smog requirements. Ramirez complained that he did not have the money and offered to give us $350 cash to just pass the car for smog. He was informed this was illegal and was told no. He decided to have some of the repairs done after which he could get a two year waiver from the State of California because his repair bill exceeded the states $650 maximum for repairs. He choose to replace only the catalytic converter and not repair the air leeks. His car did not pass smog the second time either because of this. He still has not paid for the original smog attempt owing the Beemer Club $59.99. The response the owner provided was completely false. I never offered him $350.00 to pass smog, as I know it is illegal. He never did a complete assessment of the vehicle. He reset the computer codes, gave me a gas additive, and told me to drive the vehicle for about 50 miles so the computer codes to reset. I did this, not once, but twice according to his instructions, and the car still did not pass smog. I then asked him what do I need to fix on the car in order to pass smog, and he said I need a new catalytic converter. I did not think this was the case, but did not have a choice. I told him to go ahead and replace the converter, only to find out the car still did not pass smog. He then gave me a number to another station with another gas additive and told me take the car to them. I ended up going to another place, and he told me I just needed a hose replaced, and said there was no reason to have had the converter replaced. I believe the owner the Beemer Club is dishonest, and this information should be passed to the public so they are aware. I also have a witness that can verify everything that I have written.
