 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I am sick and tired of this lying person. The one email is completely fabricated and a lie. That email is not one that I sent to him which proves that much more how much of a liar he is  He should have his license revoked because that is just a disgrace.  Any work outside of the scope was out of my pocket and within my right to do as was the monies he received which makes all he is stating about the insurance monies null and void.  He did not receive any monies from the insurance company as I paid him and was to be reimbursed by the insurance company but that monies emded up costing me way over budget to then have to use the reimbursement money to go to the correction and completion of restoring my kitchen.  I have included spme of the pictures and have video of how this liar tore up my cabinets and left my home.  This has nothing to do with any other contractors who had previously performed work in my home but to address that, yes I did have a contractor here previously who also did shotty work and they were paid for what they did which was painting.  Now to address this crook, I have attached pictures of the half baked work he did and the cabinetry he put in upside down, cracked cabinetry and incomplete flooring and spackling.  As for the email addressing formica I NEVER asked him to lie about anything, I don't know him and not to mention the mortgage company has the sciope and anything paid out over and above what was listed comes out of my pocket.  That shows how much he knows about what he claims to be a professional at.  He contradicted himself stating he didn't know it was insurance but provided an email stating just the opposite before we even signed any contract which brings about another issue.  He has not furnished the contract I signed with my signature on it.  He is fabricating this and alot of other things and if the Revdex.com cannot rectify this I will be going to a higher source because I have expert statements from other contractors (professionals) to attest to the mess he left.  Actually, the side panel where the refrigerator is has not been corrected yet due to him cracking the wood and installing the side panel upside down.  I even had the cabinet salesman come to my home and see it in person and confirmed the botched installation and apologized for recommending him.
I have attached pictures as well of how he put holes in the wood and left flooring undone and only patched but did not complete the spackle work he was to do but was paid for.  What he is saying is nonsense.  As I stated, if we cannot come to any conclusion because I am not conceeding to how he was paid for wrecking my kitchen and leaving it damaged and unfinished.  I never said it was just a pot fire when it was a grease fire.....another lie he is stating which caused smoke damage and soot all over my home causing it to need painting which yes the home was under restoration when he came because of the fire and the restoration work being done.  How dare he try to state something other than what it was.
The only thing that will rectify this is him returning the monies he stole from me.  As for the flooring he told me he was going to remove the tile underneath because the floor that he was redoing was laid incorrectly but he did more harm than good.  At least the flooring that was down was laid leveled unlike what he left and left incomplete and unlevel.
I am sick of this and completely unnerved by this supposed professional who thought he could do a quick throw up job, collect monies and be gone.  How dare he!!! Please change his D- to an F- because he is a thief and not a professional at all and the consumers should know who and what they will be getting if they do not watch his every move.
Regards,
[redacted]

Customer broke the contract and added additional items to job that were not part of the contract. She received a check with my business name which was issued from insurance company/ Bank in which was due to my company for the next deposit but we did not receive.
1. Job was a 4 day job...

maximum but she had her electrician make serveral holes in ceiling and walls but expected me to repair which is not part of my contract. 2. At first meeting with home owner I told her the floor must be changed. She waited until I installed all the cabinets then decided she wanted tile installed. So we removed the cabinets ripped up the ceamic tiled floor then installed her tiles which was cheap irregular tiles that she bought off clearance and she also bought the wrong cement.
3. customer wanted me to sign check so she can cash it (with my company name on it) who does that.
4. Contract states remove cabinet- install cabinets, countertop, sink, faucet, backsplash and paint. It does not say floor tiles or repair damaged walls, $2000 down, 2500 after cabinets. Customer was allowed $27 a square foot for a new countertop but choose a $48 a square foot countertop which added up to $1700 compared to $990. Her insurance/ bank told her exacly what she was suppose to do with the check of $1700 which was issued in my company name in which I have to pay taxes on. My company was there over seven days with her indecisiveness. We drive over 1 hour 45 minutes one way. All customer had to do was sign check and her kitchen would of been done already. If she signed over check of $1700 and add $300 and choose a lower amount countertop then we can finish. Customer insurance company told her that. We have pics of all work and contract which insurance company already requested. Thanks

Customer is a complete liar, she says I knew the job was from insurance when we first met. Thats a bold face lies here is the proof in here email). Customers place was a mess before I arrived because of the previous contractor that painted her home which had all her items stacked all over the place. Job starts Oct 30 2014- demolished kitchen cabinets, countertop and finished demo by 12. We awaited delivery of cabinets which came 3:30. Water was turned off at sink with faucet still left in off position. Customer calls and says valve is leaking. Oct 31,2014- contractor install all upper cabinets, pantry and base cabinet (which leaves 3 cabinets not done) where sink and island is Customer expects me to repair all damaged drywall which is not on contract, Nov 3 2014 customer calls her plumber to schedule her bad water valve customer emails she wants receipts to repair drywallNov 5- plumber fixes valve Nov 7 we remove damaged drywall and repaired holes made by her electrician. nov 8 recoated damaged drywall with compound nov 10- contractor explains to homeowner the cabinets will look better by installing new floor tiles. nov 11- contractor puts together island cabinets then desides she wants to do tiles so we removed island cabinets.  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because he is telling fabricated
lies.  I will address each of his lies as
he has stated them but first I would like to say how Tony J[redacted] from Before and
After Interiors totally misrepresented his abilities of being a professional when
coming to my home.  He stated that he had
been on HGTV and showed some pictures of work he had supposedly completed but
what we could not see were the intricate parts and detail of his work but from
what my daughter and I thought we saw, we thought he was reputable enough and I
was happy for him to begin.  I learned of
him through the company I obtained my new cabinets from however, I was not
aware that [redacted] (cabinet salesman) had not visibly ever seen work he had done. Tony
J[redacted] informed me that I needed to send him a deposit of $2,000.00 so he could
put me on the schedule.  Actually, I sent
a $2,500.00 deposit for the project to begin October 27, 2014.  He postponed the start to October 30th.   I was
aiming to have my kitchen restored by Thanksgiving where I was going to have my
family dinner.  I experienced a fire the
week before Thanksgiving 2013 and have been suffering without a functional
kitchen for that length of time.
I did not break any contract. Yes, I guess I did add two additional
tasks to be done due to unexpected issues that arose during construction but
when he informed me it would be at an additional cost to do it I agreed and he
was paid for those add-ons that he did not even complete. (Drywall Patching &
Flooring)  I have pictures and video to
show along with professional statements.
As for the check he is speaking about which was for the requested
initial deposit of $2,000.00, I sent him a cashier’s check in the amount of
$2,500.00 to guarantee a start date.  He
and I had a conversation that I would send him the money to guarantee the start
date but he had agreed to sign the check from the mortgage company to me once
it came in to reimburse me for the cashier’s check (initial deposit). When the
check came in he wanted me to sign that over to him as well and he hadn’t
completed ANYTHING in the kitchen – things were partially addressed. I did not
feel comfortable with paying him the majority of the monies beforehand when I
already had questions and concerns about the quality of work he had started and
how he was nailing wood into the cabinets which was completely inappropriate
and left damage to them.  Day one when he
removed the remainder of the cabinets that had not yet been removed, he pinched
the pipes underneath my sink leaving water flooding my kitchen.  I had to contact my plumber to come and do an
emergency fix because pressure had built up and water was all over but my
plumber was out of town and had to assist via telephone.  I called Tony and could not reach him.  I had to call several numbers and leave
messages then when he did finally contact me his tone was such of no concern
and he stated he didn’t know and it was already leaking which was a lie.  There was no water damage under my sink and if
it had been we would’ve known long before he came.  Not to mention he stated he pinched the pipes
in the conversation.  That was an
additional cost and a headache because my husband and I had to run back and
forth to [redacted] to find a resolve. It had sprung buckets of water before we
could rectify it but thank God we were able to.
That put my cabinets in jeopardy because Tony had placed them in the
kitchen on the floor right near where the pinched pipes were. My husband surmised
that when they lifted the base cabinet and sink the pipes probably bent over
and he thought pinching it would resolve the problem. Tony turned off the water
for my entire house unknowingly and he admitted to thinking that he had turned the
water off for the kitchen only. He wasn’t concerned about the problem he caused
and said he would be there in the morning.
At that point my husband and I decided we did not want him to do the
waterline because he obviously did not know what he was doing.  It would be far better to contract our
Plumber to do the work since he was familiar with these homes. We could not
take a chance of him causing a problem such as that with new cabinets and his
lack of concern further told us that he probably wouldn’t even have cared.
1.      Yes,
I had my electrician come while they were there to collaborate efforts since I
needed new wire run for the new range that was being installed. Tony apparently
did not take the opportunity to work out a schedule or collaborate projects; that
was the reason I asked my electrician to come while Tony was there.  I guess it was outside of the contract as far
as patching the ceiling but he agreed to it and was paid for it.  He wanted me to give him $180.00 for that
which he did not complete and I told him to deduct it from the additional
$500.00 he was initially given.  He did
not like that but it was ok for me to give him an additional $500.00 in the
beginning – he didn’t consider that outside of the contract when his requested
deposit was only $2,000.00.
2.       As for the flooring. I did not want to replace
the flooring because it was not even five years old.  I thought I had extra tiles but could not
locate them nor could I locate the match to them in the store.  Not knowing the cabinets would not meet the
existing tile I then needed to replace the entire floor.  He gave me a price of $274.00 which he was
paid for as well because I told him to also deduct that from the balance of the
$500.00.  He stated how the flooring was
not laid correctly and he was going to pull up all the linoleum and lay it
right.  I guess he didn’t expect me to
see what he was doing but they did not remove all the linoleum actually it was a small portion around the edges (another shortcut) which caused an
area of the floor to be unleveled. Not to mention he did not complete laying
the tile nor did he have to remove all the cabinets because he hadn’t
installed all the cabinets.  I had smoke
damage and wanted the walls cured before he put the cabinets up, but him doing a
quick and shotty job - trying to cut every corner he could did not address that
ahead of time.  He didn’t grout in a lot of
places and placed a broken tile under my sink.
As for the quality of tiles, they were not in the clearance isle or
section, they are displayed on the wall of [redacted] right now.  As for the cement, he was supposed to be
expecting a call from me that evening when I went to purchase the material but
he was unreachable.  I consulted with a
salesman at [redacted] who instructed me on the best adhesive to get and I
did.  Maybe he is not used to dealing
with good product. He was also planning to install my new cabinets over mold and if I hadn't seen it to speak on it and practically argue with him to not install my cabinets over it he would have without even mentioning it to me.
3.       ANY part of
the work? Not me. I believe he would’ve left with the rest of the money and
then tried to make an excuse on why he didn’t finish.
4.      Yes,
he did name most of the tasks but left out the waterline which was also
included in the price of $5,000.00. As for the countertop, I went to his
supplier who only had promotional level granite for the allowance he gave.  I did not like it and I could obtain granite in
my price range that I liked from another granite store.  I did not have to subject myself to a
countertop I did not like and the tile allowance was the same way.  I also have pictures and video and statements
from other contractors on how he cracked a cabinet and a wood filler.  How the cabinets he did install and the side
panel for the refrigerator were upside down and crooked.  Not to mention how some of the screws were
not in properly nor were they screwed into wall studs which could've caused them to fall with weight.
He has caused so much damage and heartache
for a job that should not have ended up taken more than a month to
complete.  During the supposed 4 days, he
was sick and didn’t come, then his wife got sick and he didn’t come then he
used me not having the tiles when he called as a day for him not to come when I
told him I could get them before he got here that day but he again did not come.  Yes, there was a couple days I pushed it back
because I was waiting for my plumber to address the screw up he did, but when I
would not give him any more money he would not come back threatening me to have the money and then he would return; leaving my home and
kitchen in shambles.  He spilled dirty
grout water from the kitchen to the powder room in the hallway then dripped it
down my newly painted walls and door and all over the bathroom floor and sink
and made NO EFFORT to clean it up.  I had
the cabinet store look at the cabinets when they came to deliver my countertop and
they were so sorry they recommended him to me.
He (cabinet salesman) began to tell me how I could mask the mess he made
but it shouldn’t have been one from the beginning.  He obviously doesn’t know what he is doing
and doesn’t expect for his customers to be aware of the details involved in the
process but with that kind  of money which is not chump change and I wanted to ensure he was
doing the work properly and to my satisfaction.
I believe that’s why he didn’t come back because I was there and he
couldn’t just throw up cabinets any kind of way an call it complete.  He is not entitled to the $2,500.00 he was
given and I want a refund.  I had to pay
that much again to have what he did corrected. Even the cabinet guys said he
should.  As for his travel, he knew when
he took on the job how far it was and even with that maybe he should’ve tried
to spend more time instead of a couple hours on a couple days he came.  He actually had the audacity to send me an
adjusted invoice of which I did not agree to charging me $770.00 for his
travel. Now, where do they do that??
I want a
refund for the damages he caused to my cabinets and having to pay someone to
come and correct what he messed up.
Unfortunately, the side panel and cabinet he cracked could not be
removed because the contractor did not want to take responsibility if it completely cracked
when trying to take it down.
I want a refund
and an apology because if I considered myself a reputable contractor and knew
that I did not satisfy or did a customer wrong, I would give them a full refund
and an apology with no problem, if for nothing more than to show my own
integrity.  Tony J[redacted] has proven to be
about fast sloppy work and a quick buck at his customer’s expense. I would also
like for this to go against his rating to hopefully protect and prevent future
victims.  He does not do quality work at all
nor is he professional or stand by his work.
Cockiness is not professional it is about the service and satisfaction
to the consumer who pays you for a job well performed.
Regards,
[redacted]

Review: [redacted] was supposed to renovate our kitchen and do some other small jobs in our home. He told us it would take a month and a half in December of 2013. I was pregnant at the time and due in March, so I felt secure in the fact that our home would be finished on time for the baby's arrival. He took over a month to even start and only shows up to our house once or twice a week if we are lucky. 5 months later, our kitchen is still not finished, our baby is here, and we have finally moved into a home that does not have a kitchen. I would understand if [redacted] had any reasoning for this, but he refuses to answer our calls and messages. We have placed numerous calls to both [redacted] and his answering service to no avail. He is simply ignoring us and avoiding doing work on our house for an unexplained reason. He also promised to paint our house and waterproof our basement. He has done neither and we had to spend over $1000 to paint our house, and there is now mold growing in our basement, every day threatening everyone in the households' health, including our 3 year old and 2 month old daughters'. We were also promised an entire rewiring of our home, which has only partially done. We still have 25% of our electric through knob and tube. We are paying him a lot of money and expected a professional, but we are greatly disappointed.Desired Settlement: We hope [redacted] will finish our kitchen within the next week, take care of the mold problem, and refund some of our money for the jobs he only partially completed.

Review: This home remodeling company was hired to do some work in our house. The contract stated that the work was to be completed in 3 months. After more than 6 months without the work being completed and several other things being damaged as well as not having a functioning kitchen we told them that their services were no longer needed. In the process of them working in our home one of the workers broke my $2500 china cabinet doors. We were assured that the doors would be replaced. That was 3 months ago and we still don't have the china cabinet doors. I inquired about the doors several times and was never given a straight answer. I was always told that you should have them soon, or it's in the shop. This business is not professional and not trustworthy. I have tried contacting them to at least get the store information of where my doors are and no one will respond. I don't believe that they ever intended on replacing the doors.Desired Settlement: I would like the same exact glass doors that were broken or $2500 to replace my china cabinet.

Response:

Before & After Interiors was hired to do work at the above homeowners home where she had her glass doors laid out uncovered on the floor. He mistakenly step on the glass and broke it. The glass has been custom made as is ready to be delivered but they must sign for it when it arrives.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have not received anything by mail or otherwise...This man has been dishonest with us since he signed the contract in June of 2013. This is another one of his schemes to try and buy himself time. The glass was securely wrapped in cloth in the Dining room because we had just moved into the house. It survived being in storage for a month, a moving truck and they come along and break it. They had no business in my dining room if their work was supposed to be upstairs. The glass was broken almost 4 months ago, I don't know of any postal service that takes that long to deliver. This man promised to have my house competed in 3 months I had to terminate his services after 6 months of incomplete work. So, until I actually see the repaired glass or is properly compensated I don't believe anything that he says.
