Review: I hired Cal Beiler to complete several miscellaneous carpentry-type repairs around our home. One repair was to replace a storm door in the back of the house. While repainting the frame around the outside of the door once the installation was complete, it was noted that aforementioned frame was completely rotted in a space roughly 2" wide x 10" high in the lower left-hand portion of the door frame. The new door was, therefore, installed onto this rotted frame which is not able to provide any support. I sent Mr. Beiler a letter with a picture expressing my concern at his lack of action to disclose the state of frame before completing the work and this email was never even acknowledged. As a construction professional, his lack of care, precision, and concern is unacceptable. Homeowners instill a level of trust in those we hire. It's unfortunate when that trust is exploited and taken advantage of. I paid him cash for his work which prevented me from taking any action to halt payment.Desired Settlement: I will now have to hire another carpenter who is willing to remove the newly installed door and repair the frame to prevent further damage to the structure of the home. The rotted wood has completely exposed the interior of the facade. A refund will provide the funds to have this work done properly.
