I have read the complaint submitted by Mr***I will address these concerns in orderHis son-in-law picked up his order of landjaeger and apparently was missing one package of landjaeger from his orderI am unable to do anything about that except offer a refund or a replacementHe had
weighed his order on a bathroom scale at homeThis will not accurately give you a sausage weight since our sausage goes into a smokehouse for a significant period of time and shrinks in size and weight due to cooking and smokingWe have this shrinkage process on the wall for all customers to see and understandHe apparently complained about us to his father-in-law, who decided to not do business with us after he had already dropped off his frozen venison meatAll frozen meat is logged in at the door and placed in a freezer trailer for several weeksHe knew it would take many weeks for us to get to it to process itWhen I was told he wanted to pick up his order I explained that we were at the height of our very busy gun hunt seasonWe have literally thousands of pounds of meat coming in during this period and can't spare a person to hand- move all the meat to locate a bag or twoBut we tried to accommodate him after leaving him a message about our policy of charging $Unfortunately the name label on his meat had fallen offI will say that our method of marking names on each order was perhaps not a good oneI have since ordered a wire-cardboard tag to affix to all orders to ensure this does not happen againWe did locate his meat and feel that we did what we could considering how busy we are at this timeAs to the rotten meat smell when he entered the building, that is how dead animals smellThe carcasses are on tarps which are washed as soon as the deer is pulled off of themHe should know what a dead deer looks and smells like since he is an expert in this fieldZuber's is not to blame for how a deer smells when a hunter drops it offHe is so knowledgeable on sausage, he thought bologna was a landjaeger. As far as refunding his $25.00, I will notWe have signs clearly posted on the walls for anything returned that there is a $fee. Its not our fault that he didn't ask or even take the time to look around. He also said he was losing sleep over this and that he had contacted the police over a silly matter like this. I am certain he will continue to complain about us as long as anyone cares to listenThank you for passing on the complaint, and we wish you a Merry Christmas! *** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have read Zuber's response and yes, I know what a freshly killed deer smells like and it does not smell like rotten meatThey did not even address the bags of garbage meat they tried to return to me and if in fact they actually ground it up and put it in any of their products should be a health code violationI have also sent a copy of this complaint to the Green County Health Deptso hopefully the public will be made aware of what goes into their sausage productsI have since taken my venison trim to another locker and they assured me that there should be no more than a 7-lbloss on a lbbatch after smoking, not Again, I think this business is very unprofessional and unhealthy and whether I get my money back or not, I intend to make the public aware of it. *** ***

I received the response regarding Mr***I have decided to refund his $and hopefully this will be the end of the matterWe wish to avoid any future problemsZubers is state inspected and we have an inspector here dailyWe abide by their sanitation rules, so I feel there is not an issueTo address everything that he had a problem with here are all of the answers. First the bag that we accidently labeled wrong had hair in it. It is not our problem or our fault how the meat gets brought in to us. It is on us to make sure that it leaves clean or that we don't use it at all. We are more then sanitary and we don't give PRODUCT back that is not of high quality. That is something that we pride ourselves on and we have never had anything like this remotely happen to us. If the other locker plant said that all he would lose is 7# then that's their process. We have all our products in the smokehouse for a very, very long time and we dry out our products too. There are signs all around the building to better inform people on any question that they may have. We also accidently shorted his son in law one package of landjaegers and we gave him wholesale to make up for this mistake which very rarely happens. So that being said he would have actually only lost about 15.5#. When people bring us in venison and it is a fresh product they get all of their meat back for weight, whether it is brats or burger. Anything that goes in the smokehouse for us loses at least 10% all the way up to 40% depending on the smoke house, type of product, and even down to the weather outside. To be honest ,what good would it do us to not give somebody back all their meat? Venison is illegal to sell ,and everybody that works here has the best beef, pork, and if we have it, chicken, to choose from so ask yourself why would we not give somebody back all of their meat? I'm sorry but we are honest and we are always told (except for this freak incident) that we are a great plant and that we have great products. To answer the question about rotten meat- We never have rotten meat sitting anywhere. The way our building is set up, right outside the door from where everybody's meat is weighed up is our dumpster. That does have a very bad smell but we have a larger area and many doors separating our dumpster from our processing area. I would be glad to show anybody our plant so they can see that we are very clean and that there is no rotten meat smell issue. For him saying that we put meat in exactly as it comes in is insulting. We always wash off venison meat and throw pieces away because I'm not going to put out a product that has hair in it or was bad in anyway. He wanted his meat back so all we did was grab the meat that was labeled wrong and gave it back. Since this incident we wire the names to the bag so that this won't happen again. I don't know where he is getting the idea that we just take any venison and throw it in and start grinding and making the costumers sausage. I'm sorry, but he is trying to bring us down where we have done nothing wrong. People make mistakes and we have made good on ours. We have signs up and they say for any meat that is brought in to us and has to be returned there is a fee because of all the work that we have already put into it. If any health food inspector or health department thinks they need to come and look at our plant, they can contact our state inspector who is here everyday, sometimes up to hours a day and can set all these accusations right. We have refunded Mr*** money because this is just getting to be a headache and he is obviously on a one man mission to find problems where there aren't any. I trust that the refund will be the end of this, because there isn't anything more that we can doWe have consistently made quality sausage for years. We are so sanitary and do such a good job we were actually selected to be in a special program for taking our business out of state in the "Interstate Program". Thank you, *** ***
