Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response I would like to address each point that Belair has made individually"We mailed out a registered letter of our Final Business Decision Letter to the client on September 16, which outlines the portion of the policy wording that are applicable when a policy cancellation is requested by the insuredAs per Canada Post's records, this letter was received by Mr*** *** on September 21, 2016."
Yes, this is correct I received this letter, which has in essence outlined exactly the same points that have been outlined in the response that Belair has provided to the Revdex.com If the Revdex.com would like a copy of the letter, I will gladly provide
"Regarding the automobile insurance, the insurer's rightful decision to calculate the cancellation on a short rate basis could be found in the OAP Ontario Automobile Policy (Owner's Policy) section 1.7.1."
The "OAP 1" document was never provided by Belair Nor did they explain what the short-rate cancellation policy is Belair has essentially obscured the cancellation penalties by
a) not mentioning what the document contains, as well as it's relevance
b) not providing the OAP document
c) not providing an explanation of how the short-rate calculations are made
"With regards to the residential policy, the cancellation premium calculated on a short-rate basis is outlined in the Statutory Conditions, condition Termination (3)
The residential insurance policy, the certificate of insurance includes the following remark about its Statutory Conditions: "In consideration of the premium stated, the insurer will indemnify the insured in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy and is subject to the statutory conditions."
"
This is the residential policy, and not the automotive policy!
" Moreover, both policies include a section specifically dedicated to the termination of the policy when a cancellation request is made by the insuredThis section shows a note that reads:
Residential Insurance: "Before deciding to cancel your insurance policy, consult one of our agents for help in determining the most advantageous course of action." Automobile Insurance: "Before deciding to cancel your insurance policy, consult one of our agents for help in determining the most advantageous course of action.""
Belair has ignored the fact that I very clearly stated that the problem was that the cancellation fees were not outlined before the renewal date Had they stated that the penalties would have amounted to close to $500 before the renewal date, there would not have been an issue here
Best regards,
***
Sincerely,

We have contacted our customer and confirmed that his insurance policy has been cancelled as he requested in his phone call to the Company on July This complaint has been resolved

We have been able to contact the customer and we are working to resolve his concerns.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/08/26) */
We issued this customer with a policy for his duplex as he requested on August 21. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding initially as to whether the duplex was a strata property which we would not have been able to insure. Once our...

customer sent through confirmation that it was not a strata, we were able to proceed. We sincerely apologise for the delay experienced.

We have been able to contact the customer and explain the misunderstanding. Their complaint has now been resolved.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

On august [redacted] a visit was made to [redacted]s home to estimate a laminate job (not remodel) of his only existing bathtub, our contract included only a reglaze of the existing tub and wall tile, laminating existing sheet rock walls with a thin layer of new sheet rock over the old, painting, re...

tiling the existing unlevel floor, cutting the bathtub to create a walk in shower for [redacted] aging parent and installation of new toilet, vanity sink and 2 medicine cabinets and painting a radiator. Our Contract was signed by [redacted] on 8/**/2015 , and work started on 8/**/2015. I t was explained to [redacted] that all though we would do our best, but could not guarantee that the work would be completed in the four days he was demanding it take ( the 2 color reglazing portions of the job takes 24 hours of dry time between colors and the floor takes to days to lay set and grout) [redacted] also insisted that we pick up all items for is bathroom (medicine cabinets, vanity , light fixtures, faucets, eg.), this resulted in multiple visits to home depots all over NY because [redacted] was having difficulty making decisions as to what he wanted or did not want resulting in the purchase and return of 8 medicine cabinets, valets, and mirrors (total job and travel time  approximately 10-12 hours) As Far a the 6 technicians sent to his home (all having multiple years experience in there fields) [redacted] unfortunetely found fault with every technician and in his bid for rushing them at every turn played a large part of the reason this job took 8 days instead of 6. we however made every attempt to make this customer happy, went  above and beyond  (working around his work schedule, working through the weekend and starting parts of job after 4pm ad working till 11pm) as well as traveling from Brooklyn to queens in search of bathroom items he could finally approve. While we do agree that there is approximately 2 hours left to complete this job, after [redacted] refused access to fix the Small paint problem and fix 1 tile to be able to set the radiator (not part of the original contract as painting and shaving his door was not part of this job), on 9/*/2015 (day scheduled to complete the job) [redacted] called and refused service. We still stand ready to come by and fix all issues he has with this job (which comes with a 5 year service  warranty) we just ask that he let us finish what we were scheduled to finish 9/*/2015 without further interruption , pay his existing balance and fully enjoy his refinished bathroom. He is free to call us anytime to set up this appointment to complete the work.

As previously indicated, this matter is currently being investigated, and we are working with the insured to resolve this matter. We have been in contact with the insured over the past few weeks. On July 22 and on August 9, 2016, we had telephone conversations with the insured about this matter. In addition, follow-up voicemails were left for the insured on August 26, September 2 and September 14, 2016.
