Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:July 14, 2017 Dear [redacted] Thank you for your email of July 10, 2017 regarding complaint ID#[redacted]. On July 12, 2017, I once again requested of Belcaro Fence, a walk around in to show [redacted] exactly what the problems with the fence are.  [redacted] responded on July 13, 2017, “ I will call again to set a time.” In response to [redacted]’s response to the complaint: ·         He refused to look at the fence areas that I’m not satisfied with, he called me a “punk with a smart mouth,” threatened to place a lien on my property, take me to court, then walked away. ·         I spoke with two neighbors who told me they are not satisfied.  I have not talked with the other five neighbors.  However, this is a moot point.  It doesn’t matter who is satisfied, I am not satisfied. ·         I complained about gaps in the fence until [redacted] explained he was using green wood and it would shrink.  Since he was installing it with gaps, I requested he put the pickets as close together as possible so the gaps that would occur due to shrinkage would be as minimal as possible.  Nothing more was mentioned regarding the gaps. ·         Regarding the west side, there is a stack of bricks, bushes and a shed that were there when [redacted] bid the job.  He said the bricks were not a problem, that he could do that section from the other side.  Concerning the bushes, he said he could get back there and what he couldn’t reach he would work from the other side, that we didn’t need to cut the bushes.  The shed is not mine, it is not on my property and I have no control over it.  However, the neighbor on that side told me [redacted] said the shed was not a problem, he would work that section from the other side, which is my side of the fence. He proceeded with the fence knowing these obstacles were there. [redacted] said nothing about clearing this area until I complained.  Had he requested the area be cleared, I would have had it cleared. There are many more problems than a few missing nails.  On the West side there are: ·         Five loose posts, including one that is an old original post that was not replaced.  It is covered up by two pickets nailed to either side. However, the old post can be seen from the top. These posts need to be replaced and I want a new post to replace the old post that was left in, as it was in the cost of the bid.  The bid was to replace the old fence with a new one, not to use old posts that were already there.   ·         Three rails not attached to posts.  Since the posts were not installed 8’ on center, the rails must be replaced with longer ones to butt up to the next rail. ·         Sixty pickets that need to be nailed. On the East side there are:     ·         Two loose posts that need to be replaced.    ·         Three short rails that need to be replaced.·         The gate needs reinforcing.·         Twenty pickets that need to be nailed.I have had one opinion from a fence company that pointed out these problems, some of which I was already aware.  I am in the process of getting another opinion as well.  I can provide their documentation.  I have photos and a video of the problems with the fence I can submit to substantiate everything I have claimed. Sincerely,[redacted]
Sincerely,
Craig [redacted]
