LeafGuard Gulf Coast [redacted] disputes that any of its
sales personnel lied to the Customer, especially considering the Customer does
not address specifically what she found that was false.  Additionally, LeafGuard is a franchised
operation, with multiple franchises across the...

country.  Thus, LeafGuard cannot address the “156
reviews” the Customer supposedly found against “this company”, but there have
not been 156 negative reviews against LeafGuard Gulf Coast.  Nevertheless, upon investigate this matter,
LeafGuard did find that because of an administrative oversight the Customer did
not receive a credit, which LeafGuard had previously agreed to provide to the
Customer.  LeafGuard apologizes for any frustration
that the Customer experienced due to this oversight.  LeafGuard’s General Manager has personally called
the Customer apologizing for the oversight and has issued a check to refund the
$911 she is requesting.  The check was
sent to her last week.  Accordingly,
LeafGuard considers this matter closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I did finally receive the deposit back last week of $911.00.  It is not too hard to find the bad reviews online so I would suggest Leaf Guard looks into the reviews and try to resolve them so their reputation may improve.  One of the problems IS happening over and over is the gutters blocking up and having to be cleaned out EACH year and getting them cleaned out by Leaf Guard seems to be a problem too. BUT that is what Leaf Guard promises you that you will not have the gutters filling up.Anyways I appreciate the Revdex.com and the Leaf Guard Managers  help in my deposit return.

LeafGuard Gulf Coast. (“LeafGuard”)
has a very different perspective than the Customer regarding his involvement
with LeafGuard.  Specifically, the
Customer paid a fair price for the product that...

he purchased.  The Customer had an existing gutter system on
part of the home and contracted with LeafGuard to install a gutter system to
tie into the existing gutter system.
Despite anything to the contrary, the Customer was not misled.  Finally, when LeafGuard was truly advised of
the Customer’s concerns through this Revdex.com complaint, LeafGuard fully addressed
those concerns.  Based on its investigation,
LeafGuard did not find anything it did wrong.
Yet, it can see were the Customer might have been confused.  So, in the interest of customer service,
LeafGuard has communicated with the Customer and reached an agreement to
discount the price he paid for the product contracted for.  The Customer was satisfied with the
agreement. So, LeafGuard considers this matter resolved and is closing its file.
In his complaint, the
Customer alleges that he was misled about LeafGuard’s product.  Specifically, he points to the sales
representative telling him that it is the only “seamless [gutter] in
[redacted].  LeafGuard’s premium product—the
LeafGuard gutter system—is the only one-piece seamless gutter system on the
market.  It is a patented product.  Our sales presentation obviously covers
LeafGuard’s premium product.  However,
the Customer chose to buy LeafGuard’s secondary product.  The contract clearly shows that the Customer
purchased the secondary product and not the premium product.  Nevertheless, the Customer seems confused
regarding the product he actually purchased.
While the product the
Customer actually purchased is not as good as the LeafGuard gutter system, it
still is a superior product to many gutter systems available for purchase.  When we discussed this matter with the
Customer, he said that he received an estimate from someone that was
significantly cheaper than what he paid.
Unfortunately, we have never seen the estimate.  So, we cannot compare what the estimate
covered to what LeafGuard installed.
The Customer indicated
that LeafGuard was not responsive to his inquiries.  However, LeafGuard’s records do not show any
incoming calls from the Customer.  Also,
the Customer further indicated that he contacted “some guy” who did not show up
to evaluate the problem when the “guy” said he would.  We do not know who the Customer spoke
to.  The manager who was in charge of the
Customer’s installation and any subsequent problems was a woman, who is no
longer with the LeafGuard.  Although the
General Manager is male, he has no recollection of speaking with the Customer.
Again, once we received
this Revdex.com complaint, we contacted the Customer to investigate his claim that
LeafGuard messed up the installation.
Upon investigating the installation, the General Manager found that the
gutters had been installed to code, although the Customer did not like the aesthetic
look of one area where LeafGuard tied into the existing gutter system on the
home.  Nevertheless, this was required
based on industry standards.
In many instances, LeafGuard
does things in the interest of customer service even when it does not have a
legal obligation to do so.  And, it has
chosen to do so in this matter.
Accordingly, LeafGuard has offered the Customer a discount, which he has
accepted.  Thus, LeafGuard considers this
matter closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.

LeafGuard Gulf Coast (“LeafGuard”)
acknowledges that this job did not proceed as perfectly as it strives to do
with every job, but LeafGuard did not “damage [the Customer’s] existing roof” as
stated in...

the Customer’s complaint.  Furthermore,
LeafGuard never told the Customer that it absolutely would not fix any damage
it might or might not be responsible for.
LeafGuard was still in the process of trying to resolve this matter when
the Customer filed his Revdex.com complaint.
Since the filing of the Revdex.com complaint, the parties have reached a
resolution as how to resolve this matter.
Accordingly, we consider this matter resolved.
Regarding the alleged
damage to the Customer’s “existing roof”, the Customer is actually referring to
the flashing that was on the home and not the primary roof itself.  As part of the contract, LeafGuard was to
remove 550 feet of the old gutter system that covered the whole home.  However, LeafGuard was contracted to only
install 390 feet of LeafGuard gutters, leaving a 160 feet of the home with no
gutters.  When the old gutter system was
installed, the flashing on the home was manipulated over the gutters to allow them
to be hung.  So, when LeafGuard removed
the old gutters, the old flashing was bent.
LeafGuard tried to straighten out the old flashing that had been
previously manipulated.  Unfortunately,
in the areas where there were no LeafGuard gutters, the old flashing was
unaesthetically pleasing.  Understandably,
the Customer did not like the look of the old flashing.  Yet, the contract did not call for LeafGuard
to replace the old flashing in the areas where no LeafGuard gutters were to be installed.
Despite having no
contractual obligation to replace the unaesthetic old flashing, LeafGuard did
offer to come replace the old flashing.
However, the Customer did not want LeafGuard to replace it; he wanted a
roofer.  LeafGuard then contracted with a
roofer to replace the old flashing.
LeafGuard cannot be responsible for every problem that is ever
associated with a home either before or after just because it at one time
installed a LeafGuard gutter system.
Nevertheless, LeafGuard tries to make every customer 100% satisfied with
his purchase and the subsequent installation of a LeafGuard gutter
system.  Sometimes, even when it has no legal obligation to do so,
LeafGuard does things in the interest of customer service.  In this
matter, the Customer initially offered to split the cost for the roofer
replacing the unaesthetic old flashing.  In the interest of
customer service, LeafGuard has offered to pay the full cost for replacing the
old flashing, even thought it had no contractual obligations to do so. The
Customer is pleased with this offer, and the old flashing is scheduled to be
replaced later this week.  Accordingly, we
consider this matter closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  Even though there are few wordings in the response makes me feel that I am at fault eventhough I am not, I do not want to drag this any longer. Whatever happened, happened. Let's move on.
