Review: Our business had catastrophic fire on June 28th, 2014. On July 28th, 2014 Belfor came to the store to remove property from the building. Our property was returned missing 34 items. They said they were not responsible for missing and damaged property. The could not explain why the property was missing and I had pictures of the property on their trucks. They are claiming they have no idea where it is and they are not going to replace the products. We had been instructed by [redacted] that Belfor was a reliable and honest company. $93495.00 of property is missing and they will not do anything about it. I was actually hung up on by their lawyer or someone from their legal department because he couldn't explain why the property was missing..Desired Settlement: We, [redacted] would like replacements for the missing property of a cash equivalent for the products.

Review: Belfor was hired to do a dryout of a flooded property I own on January 1, 2015 in [redacted]. I signed their Contract, known as a Residential Service Agreement (RSA). In their RSA I signed along with their Agent, [redacted], it states that the estimate for Services is $5000 +/-. The RSA also states that “any changes in price will be negotiated in good faith between the parties and set forth in a written change order signed by both parties.” This again is stated in Item 7 on page 2 of the Residential Service Agreement under Residential Terms and Conditions.

On more than one occasion I requested updates on the cost from [redacted], both by phone and by text message. His response was always, [redacted] working on it and he'll get back to you. I was concerned since my insurance for the property had a cap on it and I didn't want to go over the coverage.

[redacted] never contacted me once, nor did anyone else contact me regarding the cost or that there was going to be a cost over-run to the initial estimate. When questioned as to the cost, again he said [redacted] would let me know. [redacted] did not, nor did anyone from Belfor.

I received an Invoice from Belfor dated February 4, 2015 for a total cost of $12968.. I was shocked that this invoice was 2.59 times the initial estimate, with no agreement signed or communicated by Belfor that there was going to be a cost over-run

I met with [redacted] in Belfor's [redacted] office, and told him that insurance would not cover the dryout bill. I told him I was quite shocked when the invoice was 2.59 times the initial estimate, [redacted] offered to work with me he said, and said would 9000 or 8000 be possible? Thinking I had no choice, I told [redacted] that $8000 might be possible.

I later met with my Insurance agent and he advised me that $5000 was the contract and to only pay $5000. I contacted [redacted] and withdrew the offer of $8000 by telephone the next day

They have now sent me to CollectionsDesired Settlement: Stop the Collection letters and any negative impact on my Credit Score.

Accept my payment of $5000 as payment in full. Belfor has already received and cashed my check for $5000 dated 3/13/2015 and sent by Certified Mail on 3/13/2015.

According to their Residential Service Agreement, I have fulfilled my part since they have not followed through properly on their part of the Residential Service Agreement, getting changes in Cost agreed to by Me, the Customer and signer of the Residential Service Agreement.
