10/14/2008  Estimate given for new boiler

11/20/2008  Installed new boiler.  Cost $5,985.00 – discount coupon ($250) = $5,735.00 paid

1/28/2009  Received call from customer that there was a leak on the water line to the boiler, which was unrelated to the work done to install the new boiler.  The leak was on existing pipe.  We repaired the leak and did not charge the customer as a courtesy, they had purchased a boiler job.  Also found that the inducer motor wouldn’t run by itself.

1/29/2009  Returned next day with new inducer motor (under warranty) and installed.  No charge to customer.

5/1/2009  Customer called – having problems with boiler – our tech came with combustion analyzer and checked over boiler – adjusted igniter gap, tested combustion – boiler tested out to manufacture’s specifications.  No charge.

1/17/2011  Customer called – said boiler shuts down has error code (ignition error) she has been pressing the reset and boiler starts back up, but it has been happening more often  – she “thinks it might have something to do with the pipe that comes out of house – especially when it is windy outside”. – out tech went over checked over boiler – cleaned flame sensor and electronic igniter – burner pot looked good – checked condensate drain and found to be draining, no plugs.  We charged them a service call ($135 + tax).  Customer did not pay, so we were forced to write off as a bad debt.

2/2/2011  Customer called the after hours service – no heat – our service tech went out and performed a heating diagnostic – found return sensor bad – would have to return next day with new return sensor.  We charged them a after hours dispatch fee ($150) and heating diagnostic charge ($81.95 + tax) which is customary to pay at time of service.  She wrote a check that night – her dad called next day and had us void her check and he paid with his credit card.

2/3/2011  Our tech returned with repair parts – tech replaced the return sensor with new return sensor – also he replaced the 3-wire plug for the control board (ground wire had come loose at plug in) – after repairs purged boiler of air – cleaned flame sensor & igniter – started boiler up and checked boiler out with combustion analyzer – boiler checked out perfectly in range of co2 measurements – boiler was found to be firing up fine – boiler temp was at 120 when we left and rising.  Labor was charged to boiler supplier and parts were under warranty, no charge to customer.

4/4/2011  Customer called still having problems with boiler.  No charge to customer.

12/30/2013  Customer called on Sunday no heat but wanted tech to wait and come in morning – tech checked out boiler – found bad flue sensor – picked up new flue sensor and came back and installed – started boiler up – called tech support – tech support said boiler will give same error code if boiler fails to lite a couple of times in very cold weather – relit boiler - checked that boiler was circulating heat – working fine.  Charged customer with a service call and parts.  Total invoice amount was $331.15 (includes sales tax).  Customer called and doesn’t think she should pay for the time the tech was on the phone to tech support – tech support is for trouble shooting.  Our tech’s work on a lot of brands of boilers, tech support is brand specific focusing on the specific boiler the tech is working on.

We feel we have gone above and beyond for this customer.  We installed her boiler to manufacture’s specifications, the problems she’s experiencing  are with the boiler itself not with the way it was installed.

Review: In November 2008 I purchased a Peerless boiler system from Belknap Plumbing in Superior, WI. The installation of the product was faulty due to an error on the company during installation. A water line was not saudered correctly and water leaked over the boiler damaging the electronics of the system. Since that time I have made several service calls to which only two were recoreded by the company in 2011. I was charged a service fee for parts and labor from the company at that time and was threatened to have the charge go to collections if not paid even though the system was still under warranty. I requested to be given a replacement boiler and was denied by the company because they said it was not their fault and I still disagree because of the poor installation of the product. Again in this year I made a service call because of a sensor malfunction and the company has submitted a bill to me for over $330.00 for a $58 part to be installed that took the laborer 10 minutes to install. The technician that installed the part spent over 2 hours on his cellphone in my basement and I was charged for that time. This is an erroneous charge because I cannot verify that the phone call was related to my service call nor should I be charged for labor that wasnt performed fixing my boiler system.Desired Settlement: Considering the duration of the issues with this boiler system. I would like to be reimbursed any charges that accrued after the installation of the product along with a new and operational boiler system to be installed. As for the current charges due to the system no longer having a warranty I agree to pay for the faulted part and no more than 10 minutes of labor and would like to have any additional charges be removed.

Estimator tells me on the phone could run up to 250 for camera, comes out to look at it before sending guys. Seeing that the pipes are not draining he still sends guys with a camera only for them to turn around in 10 minutes and come back with snake to clear blockage. Then you bill the landlord 280 and say you pulled feminine products out. LIES, they were flushable wipes and you billed for camera when the camera was not run. Bad business!
