I was recently fitted for a bride's maid dress at this location, to which I have the verified measurements taken during the fitting. The dress received did not fit - not even close. I have taken the dress back to be adjusted to meet the measurements taken during the fitting or be given a new dress that corresponds to the measurements. After store manager verified that the measurements taken are mine, it was told to me that to correct the mistake would cost me a minimum of $60, plus the cost of material. Considering that the measurements were confirmed and the dress given to me does not match those measurements, the added cost to my to correct the matter, is unacceptable. I feel this business knows that I have a limited time window seek out another vendor who can match the dress/style with the rest of the wedding party, and it unfairly treating my situation.
Please see attached documents that this client signed off on before the bride signed off on a Final Contract and the order was placed. The dresses are then put into production.
This client was fitted for a bridesmaid dress in June 2019 and submitted an order form in June. During the process she was measured, sized into a 16, but opted to order a smaller size via the online ordering system. As per all attached sizing waivers, terms & conditions, and email confirmation the client was advised that sizing is at their discretion since they know their body best and it's always easier to take a dress in than let it out. Upon receivign the "dresses have arrived email" on 8/28/19 the client picked up the dress on 9/14/19. She then came in to say that the dress was too small to which we advised her to see a tailor and that we could order her extra fabric ($37.50 for crepe and $18 for liner if needed) which is a common solution to a dress not fitting. She was not advised to buy a new dress nor spend $60 however we let her know what options were available for this situation. The dresses are made to order not custom made to anyone's exact measurements and take 8+ weeks to be manufactured which is why we always advise on making the best sizing option as possible but the dresses are not custom made and alterations are always necessary.
Client received the attached email confirmation that contains this exact information. At that point if she wanted to change her size, she had this option but did not contact us. "All dresses are made to order, not custom made to measurements; therefore, alterations are usually necessary. You are responsible for choosing your own size and alterations should be expected. If you are between sizes on the chart, we advise ordering the larger size. You can always have a dress taken in but it can't always be let out! Bella Bridesmaids does not offer alteration services, but we are happy to refer you to an expert tailor. We are not responsible for any alterations made after you receive the garment from us."
