To Whom It May Concern, This letter is in response to the complaint received by [redacted] in reference to a wedding cake that we contracted with her for 10/2/16.  The complaint ID number is [redacted].  Ms. [redacted] did purchase a wedding cake from us and met with our consultant back...

in April of this year.  Attached you will find a copy of the contract, which was drawn up by our consultant based upon this consultation and then sent to the client to approve.  Please see page 3 for a description and photo of the cake that Ms. [redacted] asked for and also please see page 5 for her signature which verifies that she approves the contract and the design and flavor options selected in the contract. I would like to point out that one of the very reasons we have contracts is so that we know everyone is on the same page with regard to flavors and design so that there are no surprises or disappointments on the actual wedding day.  Ms. [redacted] states that she tried to contact us on her wedding day with regard to the cake and that we did not contact her back until the 3rd of October.  She reached out to the consultant directly and unfortunately, the consultant is off on Sunday and Monday.  Our business is open on Mondays but we did not receive a phone call or contact from Ms. [redacted].  The cake that we created for Ms. [redacted] is exactly what was asked for in her contract, which was verified and signed by Ms. [redacted].  It was an atypical wedding cake design and I can only assume that she possibly had buyers remorse with regard to the design.  When Ms. [redacted] contacted us she claimed that the cake was not presentable because it looked like a child decorated it.  That was incredibly insulting to us and to our lead cake decorator, who spent hours hand painting the cake.  I have attached a picture of the finished cake for you to review so that you can compare it to the picture of the cake we were contracted to make for the client.  Please note that the only difference in the two cakes are the changes that the client asked for – rose gold fondant scroll trim, ivory base color on the cake, pale pink garden roses only for the painted flower portion of the design with accents of light purple ( which were placed in the design as filler flowers).   If we had not delivered on the design we promised or if there was a problem with the cake such as the wrong flavor or filling, we would certainly have provided a refund as well as profuse apologies.  I will not be bullied into giving refunds to clients where we are not at fault for anything.  We have been in business for 6 years and I can assure you that if we did not take good care of our clients, then you would see complaints against us.
