The home owner violated the terms of the contract on several occasionsThe original amount was for $13,500, then a few days before the start of the project she wanted to add the remodeling of another room and adding some tile for a kitchenI told
her what it would cost and she said she couldn't afford it and tried to negotiate if she would help with the work and clean up if she could get it cheaperI said couldn't have her doing that and lowered the price to help her out. After starting the job the client would use my employees phones to make personal calls, discuss changes she wanted made with the employees (after being told on numerous occasions to only talk with me about changes) on a daily basis, wasting countless hours, but the client didn't want to pay for any of the changesThe client then wanted a whole kitchen added and a shower added to the job but said she couldn't afford it but she needed it so I gave her my cost so she could have itI made a change order and the total would be $20,now if nothing else was to be changedAfter starting the job we realized that all the electric in the walls were rigged together and unsafe for use(If you hit one wall with a hammer, the lights in another room would go out)I would be held liable if something would have happened so I replaced all the electrical outlets, lights, and wiring at no charge to the clientAfter removing the drop ceiling, which was not in the contract, we noticed that the ceiling joists were not level at all and that the ceiling would need to be framed down with x 4's for drywallSo that was done at my expenseThe home owner then started adding things on daily basis like ”Tearing up stairways, drywalling and framing entire stairway, making us tear down the agreed upon - 10xfoot closet that was just build and rebuilding it to make it bigger, installing an additional - square feet of drywall on the second level of the apartment, adding at minimum new electrical outlets and switches, adding additional lighting and ceiling fans, plus many other things that were not in the contract At the $mark I realized that with all the additional work that she was requesting and having my guy's do that $20,would not be a realistic priceI told her that I would continue to work with her to keep the cost as low as possible and agreed to finish the job for her for what it would cost me for the materials and labor and that I would not up charge any materials or labor or make anythingWith all the upgrades the final bill would be roughly $25,She refused to pay that but still wanted additional work on top of all of this like, all the trim replaced in the whole apartment, all the electrical replaced in the rest of the unit, more lights and paint, etcI told her that I had over $16,in receipts and labor all ready and she said it was my fault that under bid the jobI realized that if I continued this job I would more than likely not get paid for it due to the fact that she would never have been satisfied with the workThat coupled with the fact that she still had failed to provide a permit for the work being performed, was enough for me to terminate the jobI told her to keep the rest of the money and that would just take a loss on this jobWe did over $30k worth of work for her and charged her pennies on the dollars.
When packing up my tools I took the two ceiling fans that I bought and three 2xpieces of wood that boughtI left everything else including the custom windowseven paid an additional $to have her front door finished and dropped it off to her a week after this all transpiredBella Concepts went over and beyond what any other company would have done to satisfy this client and for her to be happyThe client took advantage of Bella Concepts generosity and kept demanding more and more but didn't want to pay and expected me to pay for things out of my own pocket

afford it and tried to negotiate if she would help with the work and clean up if she could get it cheaper. I said couldn't have her doing that and lowered the price to help her out.  After starting the job the client would use my employees phones to make personal calls, discuss changes she wanted made with the employees (after being told on numerous occasions to only talk with me about changes) on a daily basis, wasting countless hours, but the client didn't want to pay for any of the changes. The client then wanted a whole kitchen added and a shower added to the job but said she . . . . couldn't afford it but she needed it so I gave her my cost so she could have it. I made a change order and the total would be $20,000 now if nothing else was to be changed. After starting the job we realized that all the electric in the walls were rigged together and unsafe for use. (If you hit one wall with a hammer, the lights in another room would go out). I would be held liable if something would have happened so I replaced all the electrical outlets, lights, and wiring at no charge to the client. After removing the drop ceiling, which was not in the contract, we noticed that the ceiling joists were not level at all and that the ceiling would need to be framed down with 2 x 4's for drywall. So that was done at my expense. The home owner then started adding things on daily basis like ”. Tearing up stairways, drywalling and framing entire stairway, making us tear down the agreed upon - 10x3 foot closet that was just build and rebuilding it to make it bigger, installing an additional 800 - square feet of drywall on the second level of the apartment, adding at minimum 10 new electrical outlets and switches, adding additional lighting and ceiling fans, plus many other things that were not in the contract. At the $15000 mark I realized that with all the additional work that she was requesting and having my guy's do that $20,000 would not be a realistic price. I told her that I would continue to work with her to keep the cost as low as possible and agreed to finish the job for her for what it would cost me for the materials and labor and that I would not up charge any materials or labor or make anything. With all the upgrades the final bill would be roughly $25,000. She refused to pay that but still wanted additional work on top of all of this like, all the trim replaced in the whole apartment, all the electrical replaced in the rest of the unit, more lights and paint, etc. I told her that I had over $16,500 in receipts and labor all ready and she said it was my fault that under bid the job. I realized that if I continued this job I would more than likely not get paid for it due to the fact that she would never have been satisfied with the work. That coupled with the fact that she still had failed to provide a permit for the work being performed, was enough for me to terminate the job. I told her to keep the rest of the money and that would just take a loss on this job. We did over $30k worth of work for her and charged her pennies on . the dollars. When packing up my tools I took the two ceiling fans that I bought and three 2x10 pieces of wood that bought. I left everything else including the custom windows. even paid an additional $700 to have her front door finished and dropped it off to her a week after this all transpired. Bella Concepts went over and beyond what any other company would have done to satisfy this client and for her to be  happy. The client took advantage of Bella Concepts generosity and kept demanding more and more but didn't want to pay and expected me to pay for things out of my own pocket.
