Bella Investment Group Reviews (5)

Please be very cautious if you are considering renting an apartment owned by Bella Investment Group, LLC. I can only give them the poorest recommendation possible, and am looking at the possibility of filing suit. After five and one half years of being an excellent tenant with no issues, they chose to not renew my lease. They gave me forty five days notice, and with one week remaining I have not been able to find an apartment in [redacted] or in the town I have chosen to move to in [redacted]. Fortunately I have been able to rent a vacation rental in [redacted] for one month. This move has turned my life into upheaval with one result being I must give away my furniture resulting in financial loss as I cannot afford $3700 to have it moved to California, and at this point in time there is no place to move the furniture. I have not been able to sell the furniture in the short time allotted. I do not have a home, and [redacted], a property owned by Bella Investment Group would not consider giving me more time to find a place, even after asking for a three month extension. I have been told by a neighbor that another couple was forced out in the same way after an eighteen year tenancy. Please be very careful when giving these people the power to determine where and how you live. I cannot support their unfair, unethical and immoral business practices.

This letter shall serve as our response to the Revdex.com Compliant ID [redacted] in connection with [redacted] current resident, [redacted]. Upon receipt of Ms. [redacted]'s complaint, our office researched the situation with the Property Manager, [redacted], at the [redacted]...

[redacted]. Ms. [redacted] has been a resident since August 2013 and occupies apartment#[redacted]. Ms. [redacted] reports that the first complaint received from Ms. [redacted] was on November 4, 2013 and the reported problem was that "loud noises" were coming from the toilet and water heater perhaps the "pipes were shaking". A work order was prepared and service performed by our Maintenance Technician which included re placing some pipe. The next time we heard from [redacted] was on December 24, 2013. Ms. [redacted] reported concerns again with the plumbing. Our Maintenance Technician investigated the pipes and found no problems. Our technician did replace the toilet flapper on the s< me d< te, December 24, 2013. Ms. [redacted] expressed her concern < bout the noise and Ms. [redacted] offered to transfer Ms. [redacted] to another apartment home at [redacted] and agreed to waive the standard transfer fee. Ms. [redacted] also provided Ms. [redacted] with the direct emergency on-call phone number since the Highland Village office would be closed on Christmas Day and we wanted to be sure that Ms. [redacted] could promptly reach <1  member of the emergency on-call team if needed. Our M< inten< nce Technician spoke with Ms. [redacted] on December 27, 2013 and Ms. [redacted] stated that there was "no problem, all was great". We have not received any request for <1 transfer to another apartment heme or that the noise continues to be an issue. We have also not received a copy of any police report. It is possible that Ms. [redacted]'s letter to the Revdex.com was prepared and received by your office prior to the service performed on December 24, 2013. Our offer to transfer Ms. [redacted] to another < partment horne with the waiver of the transfer fee remains an option. We believe this matter to be resolved at this time, unless Ms. [redacted] indicates that there is a continued problem or that she desires to transfer to another apartment home. Please note that if a transfer is the action taken, we cannot "guarantee" that the plumbing will not make standard noise (water running through the pipes) or that future repairs will not be necessary, as this is simply part of normal wear and tear at any community. Please confirm reoeipt of this letter and advise us what future action, if any, is required with Ms. [redacted]. Thank you, and should you require any additional information, please contact me directly at [redacted] or ###-###-####.
Sincerely,

I moved from a three bedroom apartment to a studio about two months ago. I lived in the complex for about one year previous to moving to the smaller unit. When I moved, I took furniture from my parents house (uninfested with bedbugs) and after a little under a month I found my first bedbug. I alerted staff and received a brush-off by the acting mananger. When I reported it to the exterminator she began to listen. The complex has been trying to pin the bedbugs on me, refuses to let me out of my lease. They will not release any records of previous tenants or inspect my neighbors for the pests to find the origin. The pest control says I have a high rate of becoming reinfested if I stay in this apartment but the complex doesn't seem to care. I have had to throw out my matress, couch, chairs and go through countless amounts of laundry and throw out most of my clothes (since I cannot them in temperatures over 130F). This place is a nightmare.

This business was nothing but a headache. The staff here is unprofessional and rude in every situation. They are also untruthful and on more than one occasion have deliberately misled/misrepresented things and blatantly lied about things.
When I moved into [redacted], I was looking for a temporary housing situation due to a job relocation. I found I was able to take over someone else's lease. When I asked the office about how the takeover worked, the manager herself assured me I would not be held responsible for quote "major damages like carpet and holes in the walls" we were instructed to immediately notify management if we encountered any major issues with the apartment. I did have to pay a security deposit, and sign a lease with my name on it, making it a NEW contract/agreement.
Upon getting keys from the previous tenants, there was carpet damage caused by their cat. The house also smelled terribly of cat litter. I immediately contacted the office, to which the manager then told me I was now responsible for any issues with the carpet. Had she said this from the beginning, I would've never signed a lease with them. She obviously only cared about keeping the apartment full and used whatever measures she saw fit, including lying, to keep people in the property.
Upon move out, I did a walk through inspection with maintenance. He told me the apartment looked good to him, and I was good to go. I asked if I needed to sign anything, to which he responded "No"
The office mailed my walk through inspection paperwork, and our deposit refund to the address we MOVED from! I gave them my new forwarding address the day I did my walk through inspection, and yet they sent this information to our previous residence. The one they had to call and verify with before we could even move into the property. That is a really big mistake.
The walk through inspection said there was a hole in the wall, and at the bottom said "resident not present" I absolutely was present during the walk through, and a hole was never mentioned to me.
I immediately called the office on 12/16 when I received this notice, and had to leave a message because it was after hours. No one ever bothered to call me back. I was forced to call again on 12/19, and the manager, Mary, already knew exactly what I was talking about. So she got my message and chose to not call me back. When I explained my issues with my walk through her only response was to yell at me "I could've charged you for 6 months of carpet and I didn't. And the hole was a small hole from a cable cord, and I only charged you $15." I assumed the cable cord hole was already there, since they refused to do a walk through with us when I moved in. I would have definitely fixed it myself had I been made aware of it. I also find it extremely dishonest I was told I didn't need to sign anything, and then the walk through says I wasn't present.
I do not want anything from this company. I just find their business practices extremely unprofessional and extremely dishonest. I hope Bella Investment group takes a good look at their management.

Review: I leased a studio from [redacted] of Bella Investment Group this August and lived there with my 5-year-old son since then. From the beginning of my staying here, I had been tortured by various kinds of loud noises such as what seemingly caused by weight-lifting or running back and forth, striking something hardly on the floor or the wall from upstairs. But what's most unbearable is the very big noises made by a kind of machine which vibrated and produced the striking of the pipes and plumbers in my apartment with intervals of 0.5-1 minutes the whole night. The strikings and vibrations were so loud and strong that at first I thought it was earthquake. I had to stopped my son's and my own ears to try to get to sleep. But It didn't actually work. My son and I had to stay awake many many nights and couldn't went to work or school the next day because we were so sleepy. I tried to talk to the guy upstairs but he or she just refused to open the door. I left notes two times on the door, and nothing changed. Finally I complained to the leasing office, many times, and tried to get some help, but I never got. The leasing staff promised many times to send some people to talk to the guy and tried to find out the source of noise and vibration, but I never got a feedback and nothing changed. The noise and vibration just continue. It seems that no one cares about what my son and I are suffering as long as we pay our $ 800 (utility included ) rent on time! I'm suffering from Neurosis now and my son is getting sick more and more easily because of lack of sleep or bad sleep. The leasing satff just told me to call police. Once in desperate, I called 911(and the process kept my son wider awake in his fever). When the policeman talked to the guy upstairs, he just denied any noise. And the noise just continue. Helplessly, I had to resort to the leasing office for help again, but nobody bothered to solve the problem still. I tried to stop the leasing contract and find another accomodation, but the leasing staff show me the contract and told me in that case, I have to pay $1470 for breaking the leasing contract. But I, especally my 5-year-old son, really need to sleep!!! I paid my rent timely, that means I was guaranteed naturally a place to rest and be comfortable. If even the basic need of sleeping during the night can not be guaranteed, why should I pay the rent that is so irrationally high in the first place, and why shouldn't I move to another place if the leasing office could not solve my problem? I'm not a trouble-maker and I'm not persnickety. I have endured 4 months in such a nightmare-like appartment. I can't endure any longer, for my son's sake! I think the Appartment leasing office is very incable, of not irresponsible and indifferent.Desired Settlement: I hope that either the leasing office really do something to stop the extremely loud noise and vibration and promise this will never happen in future, or end our leasing contract without a fine of 1470. Anyway, it's not my fault to this kind of sitiation. I prefer the first settlement, as my son and I have get used to living here. I'm looking forward to a quick settlement, because everyday my son and I suffer more. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
