Our trained bridal specialists take measurements with accountability in mind. We measure openly in our store so that brides have the advantage of their family and friends seeing how the measurements are taken and voice concerns if they arise. Her measurements were taken by the store's assistant manager, a person who verifies other consultants' measuring, making her qualified to take these measurements.

Furthermore, measuring 3 inches too small in every dimension would be nearly impossible as it would have been extremely uncomfortable for the person being measured. A 3-inch difference in the waist would have made it very difficult to breathe, and 3 inches too small in other dimensions would have been obviously noticeable.
Fitted dresses can restrict movement when they fit properly. The cut of the dress she chose (fitted through the hips and thighs) does restrict movement in its nature, even when perfectly fitted. Wedding gowns often have structure and weight that may make them less comfortable than expected depending on the individual's preferences. When a dress closes properly and a bride can walk and sit in it, it is sized correctly.
