I purchased a 2015 Honda Accord from Apostolakis Honda September 2015. I had a pleasant experience with the purchase, mostly because I had spent hours on line looking for the best rated car for what I needed. The salesman was pleasant and helped me get all the applicable discounts available.
In December I started hearing a thumping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. I took the car to the service department to have them find the source of the noise. I was informed that I had a bolt in the tire treads. I asked if they could plug the tire to which I was told that they could not since it is too close to the side walls. I was given a quote for a new tire about $225.00. When they checked their inventory, they did not have one in stock and asked if I wanted another brand. I told them that since the car was new, I preferred all four tires the same. There is a tire store two businesses away from the dealership and I told them that I would go there for the new tire. The serviceman became nervous and stated that "they may be able to plug it there for you, we just have higher standards." When I went to the tire store, they were able to plug my tire for $16.
Buyer beware!!! If you can't be trusted with a $200 tire, can you be trusted with any other mechanical issues?
