Review: On the evening of Nov 20, 2012 my husband, [redacted], received a call from Betty Bell inquiring if we had been receiving any bills from them. I checked our paperwork and found June was the last month we had been billed for. He told her that and she said she would be sending a bill out in the mail. Normally, not receiving a bill from a company would concern us but not from them. Ever since we became their customer we had never consistently received a bill from them. We might get a bill once a month, once every two months or every three months so we never knew when to expect them. Years ago when we first became their customer [redacted] called and requested they send us a bill every month but they never would. After [redacted] got off the call I commented to him about how high that bill was going to be and he wanted to know why. I told him we were being charged $67 a month and owed for 5 months. He said that amount was wrong and we were only supposed to be paying $16.50. He called Betty back and let her know that she was charging us for the dumpster even though he had called her in March 2012 to tell her we had sold the rental property and had the dumpster picked up. She said she wasnt sure if the management company for the rental property had been billed for their services so she would need to look into it. She told him she would need us to provide the check numbers and dates that we had used to pay because they had neglected to write down that information on our account. [redacted] told her we were preparing for a move in January but we would try to find that information. She told him not to worry that we wouldnt be getting billed until everything was cleared up. About 20 minutes later I had located the check numbers and dates that she had requested. During that research I also noticed that they had double billed us for the month of April. [redacted] called Betty back to give her the requested information and had to leave a message for a return call.After not receiving a return call [redacted] called their office on November 23rd and was told Betty was out. He was given her cell phone number to call. Betty picked up and said that she was driving down the road but she would give him a call once she got to the office in about an hour. Were still waiting for that call. On November 24th we received a bill in the mail for $99 for the 5 months that we owed. (see attached copy of bill) This was after she had already told us we wouldnt be billed until everything was straightened out. On November 26th [redacted] called her cell phone again to give her the requested information and to let her know we had received a bill. He ended up having to leave another message for a return call which we never received. On November 27th we mailed off a letter giving her all the requested information and letting her know we had overpaid $119.50. (see attached copy of letter)At the time we didnt realize she had no intention of giving us a refund so I didnt write down all of the specific dates [redacted] had called and left messages that never got returned or when he had spoken to her. I do know that in December he spoke with her once to verify that she had received the information we had mailed to her. She said that she had and that she was working on it. He spoke with her once in January to inquire about our refund and was told again that she was working on it. He also told her that our move to SC was scheduled for February and that he hoped the matter could be resolved before we left. Early February he called her several times and had to leave messages for a return call. Surprisingly, she never called him back. We believe that she knew he was calling because of the caller ID and just didnt pick up the phone. On February 6th he called her again and this time she picked up because she didnt recognize his new SC phone number. He let her know that we were canceling our service and February 19th was the last day we needed to have the garbage picked up. He told her to deduct $49.50 for the months of Dec Feb and to send us the $80 refund. He gave her his new phone number and our new SC address. During this conversation she told him she was still working on our refund. She told him that the management company, for the rental property we had sold, hadnt been billed for their garbage pick up for March 2012 June 2012. [redacted] told her that wasnt our problem and that she needed to return our money. She agreed that statement was true and she would get the money to us. On March 11th we still hadnt received the money so [redacted] called her to check on the status. She wanted to know if we had contacted the Revdex.com yet. (Before we moved I had mentioned to my daughter that if they didnt give our money back I was going to contact the Revdex.com. Apparently, my daughter mentioned this to Bettys grandson and he mentioned it to her.) He told her we hadnt yet. She commented about how he must think she was a liar because she kept saying he would get the money but he never did. She told him she would get the check in the mail. On March 26th we still hadnt received the money so [redacted] called again to check on the status. She told him she was still working on it but would get the check in the mail. [redacted] gave her our new address just in case she had misplaced it from Feb. On April 11th we still hadnt received the money so [redacted] called Betty on her cell phone but she wouldnt pick up. He tried to reach her at the office but the secretary said she wasnt in and to call her cell phone. He verified that Betty and Lee were the owners of the company and was told there wasnt anyone above Betty to speak to. He requested to be put in contact with Lee Bell and was told that she hadnt see him in several months and that he didnt have a cell phone and she didnt know when he would come in again. She told him he could call back and leave a message for Lee but there wasnt any guarantee that he would get it. (Apparently their home and business phone numbers are the same.) She asked if heDesired Settlement: We want the $80 that rightfully belongs to us.
