Bell did an outstanding job with the granite counter we had installed and it was substantially less expensive than the competition. They were recommended by a friend who had a similar experience.

Review: Bell's Stone passed my job order to [redacted] in [redacted]. I was not provided the opportunity to select my own stone. Once delivered I noticed a 2 foot long fissure running from one corner of the countertop to another. It also appears as if some sealant or other repair was attempted as there is a milky coloration roughly 1-2 inches wide along the fissure. I can also feel the fissure with my finger nail; additionally it will not take a sheen like the remainder of the stone. The proprietor says it is not cracked, is a natural part of the stone and has no intention of replacing or repairing. He says he is intent on taking the loss as I have not made the 2nd half of the payment. I am very unhappy with this piece of granite. Everyone who has come over to see the finished work have noticed the imperfection without prompting. A contractor who looked at the piece says it is unsuitable and will hurt our resale value.Desired Settlement: I believe the only recourse is to replace the stone with another piece.

Review: I went into a business that I believed was a part of [redacted] on the same street. I showed the brochure and asked the man if this was the correct business. He told me yes. The brochure said [redacted]. I asked if he had a certain pattern of granite that had been installed in my home by the former owner. He said he did and that he thought he had installed it. So he came to my home and measured for granite installation to be put next to the existing granite and a couple of other areas.

He measured the additional granite I need & stated he could match the same granite. He also told me that his company had installed the existing granite. (But I have since found out that his company is not any part of the [redacted] company and they did not install the existing granite).

A few weeks later the installer arrived and noticed that the granite he had cut was not in the same direction as the existing granite it was to sit next do with a shared seam. He showed me paper where the owner had not stated the direction (vertical vs horizontal). And a second piece for another area was cut 10 inches across too small so it also could not be used. There was a third piece, but at that point I didn't even look at it. I was on the phone with the owner and he kept saying it was just a mistake. But the installer told me there was no more granite in the area of the same color that I needed to match the existing pattern. So it cannot be recut or installed.

The owner said he made a small mistake like when I had to postpone my first install appointment due to being out of town to be with my father as he passed away. I was highly offended.

I had paid this $1100.00 as a 50% deposit. He refuses to return my money and says that process takes too long(?). He offered to redo my entire kitchen with another granite since he cannot get anymore of the correct granite. I do not trust him at all and I have told him repeatedly that I just want my deposit back as he can no longer deliver what I had ordered.

I have checked with several other granite companies and fabricators. No one has that particular granite any longer as that pattern is more than 3 yrs old. He evidently had the last piece, but as the installer told me - they had used the whole slab to make the wrong cuts.

This company was not the same one that had installed the original granite, so he lied about that. He also told me at one point that he was NOT the company owner. Now he tells me he is the owner and things on the internet confirm that.

He is not part of the Revdex.com. So I do not know if a complaint will do little to get my money back. I can go to small claims court, but even if the judge orders him to pay - there is no enforcement on any judgement. No agency can make him pay me my deposit.

He will not bargain with me at all except to replace my entire kitchen (with no guarantee that will be done properly). I have taken 2 days off from work and that was a waste waiting on them to come and install.

So I have no material for the money he has received. There is no way he can provide the material for that particular order. He cannot deliver. But he refuses to refund my money.

I have filed a dispute with the credit card company, but he already has the money in his bank account.
